1. This happens to you? 2. Why are 7 year olds crazy?

1. I just lost it. I gave L THREE chances to re-earn a privilege (finishing a special movie, which, btw she initally told me I was the greatest mother in the UNIVERSE for letting her watch) she lost for being a punk and she blew it and then I blew it. First I yelled. Now I'm hiding in the playroom from everyone after having a good cry.

2. She's INSANE. I know she's smart. We literally just had her hearing tested. And I may as well be talking to MYSELF. Plus she's a liar from looney town.

Kids are crazy. They make me crazy. I hate everything. My husband has the day off tomorrow without kids and I don't and I can't take it off so he's making me crazy too.

Fyi. These are rhetorical questions/concerns.

This is also my 7 yr old, in fact she's tried the same bs with me, right down to insisting that I should pay for the money SHE lost. It's infuriating. I'd give her props for her ingenuity, if it weren't for the fact that she drives me to madness on a regular basis.
P.S. I'm guessing with her that it's not so much the age, as it is the personality since my 9 yr old is not a scheming schemer.

The ages of 7-9 are the most God awful. It's like little babies are so cute so by the time they turn into little terrorists you're kind of attached to them. I swear my 8 year old can fuck up everyone in the house moods in like 30 seconds. So I feel ya. Just power through. 10-11 has been pretty good for the most part.

Mine turned 8 in Sept. We've been dealing with this too.

She will just go nuts, over nothing.

My youngest is 5 and she's starting to copy older sister, but my youngest is a fucking liar who lies, about everything, i could ask her if she's breathing and she will say no with a perfectly straight face, and then get offended if called out on the lie.

Did anyone read that article going around FB about how yelling is the new spanking? That if we are yelling, it means we aren't being patient enough, haven't made enough time for ourselves, we haven't communicated effectively to our child, or we aren't listening to them.

I was laughing through the whole self righteous mom shaming bullshit piece. Yeah, ME not listening to my child is what's causing me to yell. GTFO.

I did like a meme a friend sent mocking that memories&messes nonsense. It said:

This is good to know. I was starting to think I was either a horrible parent or had a horrible kid or both. My 7 year old seems to have two personalities, perhaps more. I only like one of them. But when she decides she wants to be miserable, she takes the entire house with her.

We have almost 8 year old and the lying is killlllling me. All lies, all the time and about the dumbest shit ever. It's going to put me in an early grave. 

I'm one of the most patient people ever and he tests me constantly. He knows that when I start yelling he's pushed me too far. Lol

My almost 7 year old started the day off by dropping my work iPhone in the toilet. Full of his poop.
Then my 3 year old pooped in the bathtub, and the 7 year old just stayed there and sobbed. Until my mom went in to check (I was showering) and she got him out and dressed, but left DD in POOP WATER until I got out of the shower, dressed and came in to find out what was going on.

Then I sat in a church 2 hours watching my nephew get confirmed, and I RELISHED the time "alone" because DH had both kids outside playing and having fun.

My phone is busted though and I'm still pissed. And DS whined the whole hour home because he was BORED without my phone. That he broke. SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!

My 9 yo and her BFF had a sleepover at our house last night. This morning, they were clearly making fun of me. Well, not clearly, but I had a feeling (and a robe-on, and crazy hair). I was sleepy and didn't catch-on very quickly but I knew something was off. I let it go but my PROOF was my 9 year old busting into my room 15 minutes later to "just say I love you, mom".
