I have nothing nice to say. Her explanation of what happened and her concern about how her husband may not regain full use of her arm, with no real commentary on her own injuries is pinging my radar for some reason.

Wow. I wonder what kind of gun it was. I've used several that my husband owns and it's very, very hard to "accidentally" pull the trigger (as in, you have to turn the safety off, pull the gun cocker thingy back, then press the trigger very hard - both hands for me to do it). Not saying accidents can't happen, but still. I'm glad there seems to be other witnesses that were there, though.
It also sounds like they (the couple) had been having a rough couple of weeks leading up to this and her pulling some stuff from the blog. Coincidence?? Yeah, right.

I noticed that too. Richard's last post seems to have disappeared.

Yeah, she mentioned that he was not happy about something so they were going to pull back for a while. Uh huh...
Ian she the one whose husband died semi-recently too?
She re-married 84 days after he passed, and has 5 kids ages 5 and under. As much as I try to be understanding that her grieving process is not mine to judge, there is a lot that makes me uneasy about the whole thing.
The crazy ass people commenting on her facebook. They are all insane. Accidents happen? The fuck?
Jesus Christ. I can't take all the comments of, "Accidents happen!"
I'm laughing at one of the Reddit comments that says, "Here's a whole side of the Internet who will ream you if you turn your kid forward facing in his car seat before he turns 11. But guns sometimes just accidentally shoot people!"

:?
There's one lady in the comments pointing out how stupid all of the excuses are. I'm going around liking all of her posts.
This is insane. Thank goodness none of the kids were hurt. This story is incredibly fishy, as is the entire situation with the new husband. I hope she and the kids are OK.
Most appropriate comment I read in this mess: "This relationship is destined for a Dateline special."
It is horrifying that people can fangurl SO HARD that they dismiss this as "things happen." I literally read a post on her FB that said "no one could have prevented this."
I'm assuming this guy had absolutely no idea how to clean a gun and therefore shouldn't have fucking tried. That is so...stupid.
Everywhere other than her FB is full of people commenting on what an idiot he was, how a gun should be cleaned, making sure the chamber is empty and oh yeah, keeping your fucking finger off the trigger.
Even aside from all the other strangeness, I don't understand the logistics of how someone would be holding a gun where a bullet would enter their arm but then also hit someone just entering the room.
If her story is true, at least she went to get him for dinner instead of sending one of the kids. It would have been much worse.

We are truly living in some fucked up times.
We still make excuses for behavior when there are none. No one wants to say maybe she rushed into things or maybe this was not an "accident". I am not saying she did or didn't, but even if she did it does not make her a horrible person. It makes her human. It is ok to admire or like someone who fucks up every once and a while. I don't trust perfection. lol
