I guess Corinne still isn't feeling well. I gave her Motrin before bed and she woke up right at the 7 hour mark crying. I can't stay home again, hopefully mt H can swing it.
I may have to go to the doctor for my allergies. I don't know what to do! I take a prescription nasal spray twice a day and I started taking Claritin-D a couple days ago and I am still so stuffed up which I can deal with but the breathing issues are getting to me. I couldn't sleep well last night because I can't get a proper breath and it makes me panic
laurack, are they just seasonal allergies or do you have problems year round and spring pollen makes it worse?
Year round I have nasal issues but just in spring it was worse and I get the breathing issues. So I am assuming I'm allergic to pollen but then mildly allergic to something else .. dust, pets or something

That sounds kind of like my H. He has allergies to mold, dust mites, and cats and then severe seasonal allergies. His had been manageable for awhile, but he was ending up with colds and sinus infections all the time. He started allergy shots a few years ago and its really improved things for him.

do you have a cat? the problem is we have a cat AND a dog and I don't consider myself miserable enough to actually consider rehoming any of them and if you have a cat you know you can't keep them off beds or couches as they do whatever the hell they please. So if I forget to close the bedroom door I'm sure he just goes and sits on my pillow lol
Now the pollen allergy is bad so I need to do something about that because I just can't deal with the breathing thing.
I guess I'll call the doctor. She said last year when I went in that if I really couldn't deal using OTC and also the nasal spray, to come back and she might do a steroid. I just feel like every year it's worse. Maybe this is the year I need the inhaler
laurack, we do have a cat. She was mine before we met, and after we got married and moved in together was when his allergies got worse. So it's kind of my fault.

I don't know though, I mean I've had animals before (cats and dogs) and never had an issue. My allergies in general have just picked up quite a bit in the past few years.
it could be dust of course too but we do have wooden floors (no carpet, just area rugs) and we vacuum somewhat regularly ...
but anyway he may have gotten worse recently even without a cat.
Has he had a test to determine what he is allergic too? I'm wondering if it's worth pushing my PCP to refer me for allergy tests or if they are generally inaccurate

I'm at the lab doing my glucose test. I already passed one at 12 weeks but since I am high risk I have to do another. I'm looking forward to breakfast!! Can't believe I am in the third trimester.
Vivienne is in a toddler bed now because the crib could no longer contain her. She has a baby gate in her door too. She does ok as long as I leave her bedroom door open.
She's just always been a kid who doesn't want to be alone. Julian is super independent doesn't mind sleeping alone. She will end up sleeping in our bed the second that baby gate comes off.

Claritin is the weakest OTC med. Try Zyrtec or Allegra. It made such a difference for me.
Blake's IEP meeting is today and they just sent me the ETR (his evaluations) to read before the meeting. Ugh - he's come so far, but he's still so far behind. It's really hard to read how behind your child is especially as he gets older. I think the meeting will go well, and am confident they will do everything they can, but it still sucks.

((( blane12))) I know it is hard to read, and the meeting will be tough. But, this meeting will set up the tools for him to be the most successful.
He has made huge strides, even in the past year. When you are feeling down, go look back at some of the post you made about his leaps in progress, that may help remind you of all the positives.

I have tried Zyrtec also which doesn't work well and also makes me sleepy. I haven't tried Allegra. The Claritin has actually reduced the stuffiness but not helped the breathing
all these allergy meds are so expensive to try as well! ugh I suppose I can try allegra. I feel like I tried it last year without great results but I can't recall as there are so many of them

Do you see an allergist? If not, I would highly highly recommend seeing one. It has been life changing for me, and they manage it so much better than any PCP I have had. But it does sound like you need a steroid at this point.
no, I just made a PCP appointment for tomorrow so I'll see what she says. Maybe I'll see if she will refer me to an allergist!
Ugh. A locked our bathroom door and shut it so we are locked out. No one is in any danger but the bathroom is out of commission until I take the doorknob off. I'm so irritated-- he's old enough to know better! I have no idea why he thought this was a good idea.

Taking R to pedi now because she's crying in pain from this UTI. We have already switched antibiotics to the "big guns" and I don't know what will happen. My poor girl.
Did I mention my dog is puking and my tub drain is clogged and I only have one bathroom and couldn't even shower? This week is killing me.

ETA: my phone is a turd.
You will feel much better with the allergist. My prescribed allergy meds are much better than anything over the counter.
Thanks ladies. He has come so far. I try to focus on that. And I'm so thankful the school is going to give him ever he needs - I just wallow sometimes. On a brighter note, I just got back from his field trip. He asked his favorite girl if she would take a picture with him. Can you tell he's thrilled she said yes?

Today is Field Day for Andrew. I'm worried. It's not going to go well at all. It's really just a series of things that I know will trigger him and he will spiral out of control.
I have plans tomorrow night, but DH was asked to work. We tried to find a sitter, but after calling EIGHT PEOPLE, nobody was available. I wasn't willing to cancel, as it's my one planned thing a month and has been on the calendar for several months now. So tomorrow night is turning into "bring your kid to work day" for DH. (To be fair, I'm not a total bitch. I knew that taking A to work with him was an option, as other people frequently have their kids in tow.) So Andrew will spend the afternoon/evening playing around on the set of a game show where the top five answers are on the board. I'm hoping for some cute pictures. He's already got his own name tag from the show, so I'm going to make him wear it.

jamaicam, I definitely agree! I would love to sit around and drink wine with all of you.
I had a nice visit at my parents with I, but then came home to a destroyed house. I feel like I'm 10 steps behind and frustrated that nothing stays picked up or clean for very long. I is currently CIO for naps and it is miserable.
laurack He does have an allergist and had an allergy panel done to determine which allergens were the real problenms. I'm glad you were able to get an appointment with your pcp, and hope that you get a referral to an allergist who can help you!
