mrs.jacinthe - i am in total awe of you. You are amazing for even considering this. I can swim for a decently long time, but 1. I freak out in open water. Bad. And 2. Not for 36 fucking miles. Thats just insane. Awe, i tell you. Youre my swimming hero.
Unrelated, but about the shoulder thing... im totally inflexible everywhere, except my shoulders. I can apply sunscreen to my own back, the entire thing. I never realize other people couldnt till recently. When i did stroke analysis a few years ago, the coach was super impressed and told me my shoulders were freakishly flexible. Makes up for my freakishly not flexible everything else. Lol
I should've known and now I'm feeling really dumb about it. In yoga, when we're in a forward fold and they're like "let your clasped hands fall over your head" I've actually laughed. That could and would never happen ever.
I can't say if you're describing it accurately, but it does really sound like you have some limited shoulder mobility and/or weakness. I know you and your PT are like peas and carrots - is this something you've ever worked on? I'm really curious about this now - particularly chicken/egg with your neck.
(what's with the food pairings? I might be hungry)

Ok, and now I have a legit issue/complaint. I just got off the phone with the hospital that did all my heart testing and diagnostics and stuff.
I owe them almost $6k - *after insurance*. SHIT. I don't have 6k sitting around right now, thanks to starting into real estate and tearing through my backup savings as a result. I'm going to have to get a part time job or something to pay for this crap. And what the HELL would I do if I didn't have insurance or the ability to absorb the payments for a payment plan? Shit shit shit.
On that note, anybody planning on buying or selling a house soon? I know a realtor who could use the commission.

Health insurance is so ridiculous! Make sure you really look through the bills when you get them. They are notorious for billing errors. Charging for out of network costs even when you don't have the option for in network, etc. Also ask about discounts/payment plans/etc. sorry you have to deal with this!

Oh, I'm on it. I used to work in the medical industry. There wasn't anything there that wasn't billed correctly, but what WAS billed was excruciatingly high. My cardiac MRI *alone* was $10k before insurance.
I called the billing people and apparently they won't discount what you owe after the insurance has been billed, unless you fill out approximately 3.5 tons of paperwork. I have set up a payment plan, but it's really ridiculous. I shouldn't have to make payments on 4 doctor visits and an MRI.

That's awesome that you are so knowledgeable about it! The bills can be crazy! The whole system is such a mess for sure!
I just went to my ortho, had several X-rays and cortisone injection. I'm not looking forward to that bill! Last year when I had it done we had at least already met our deductible.

And this is why I love Britain's NHS. You shouldn't have to pay to be well. (Yes, I know, I 'pay' for everyone's treatment whether I need any or not myself, but I love that no one has to think about it here.) I'm so sorry you have to consider getting a job or use savings to pay for this.
I had a massive allergic reaction when I was in Connecticut for work. 10 minutes and an injection later, they gave me an invoice for $1800. LOL. I gave it to my employer. I ain't paying that.
My complaint is that my eating is, as always, out of control. I tell myself I'm going to get a handle on it and do well for a couple days then it all goes to crap again. My goal is to really get it handled before this fall when I 1. pace a friend for what will hopefully be a sub 2 hour HM, 2. go for my own HM postbaby PR 3 weeks later, and 3. maybe have my IUD removed and start trying for junior 2.0. (Don't anyone get too excited, this is not set in stone and is dependent upon my husband and I getting our acts together in various ways) But WHY DOES DELICIOUS FOOD HAVE TO BE SO BAD FOR ME?!

Damn hon, I'm so sorry. I've been through this before with Mr Cupcake and its rage-inducing. Please let us know what we can do to help.
Thanks. It sucks - I may or may not have cried after I hung up the phone with them. Damn, I feel fortunate that I have the ability to buckle down and pay it eventually. I don't know what those less fortunate would do.
I will be ok, though. We sat down last night and came up with a plan to make things work. That said, if anyone is moving (literally anywhere in the world) and doesn't already have a realtor, let me know - I'd be happy to put you into my network as a referral, and it can go into my "Pay UCD my firstborn" fund.
