I received my Ulta order last night. It showed up to my house in a trash bag, which I knew right away was a bad sign. The Burts Bees oil cleanser had opened and leaked out completely. Everything I bought was soaked in oil. I called them and after 10 minutes on hold he told me they could only replace the oil cleanser and I could just rinse everything else off. You really can't rinse off eye shadow and lipstick that's been sitting in oil. I demanded to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor finally offered to give me a gift card in the amount of my purchase. I'll be missing out on the 20% off and my 2x birthday points so I'm still super annoyed with Ulta.

This sucks. I'm so sorry. Is any of it salvageable?

I would call back and try to speak with someone else to try to get those perks back.

There's a redkin rough paste I can probably wash off and it will be fine.  I don't think the oil can get into it.  So far I just haven't wanted to deal with it.

I would call again and speak to someone else to see about getting those perks back.

I also ordered a full-size of the Laniege Water Sleeping Mask. To those of you who used it before, do you use it alone or do you use your serums and slap on the mask?

I slap the Laniege mask over my normal night routine (including moisturizer mixed w/oil). I don't think I am using enough...it doesn't seem to do much.

Oh no! That's a BS customer service response though. I'd try contacting them again and getting them to handle it better.

I placed an Ulta order that was supposed to be delivered late last week. Tracking updated to say the contents were damaged and USPS was contacting the seller. I emailed Ulta and heard back the next day, they sent everything in my order, including the promo and GWP stuff that I was afraid I'd lose. The reshipped order is supposed to be delivered tomorrow...I'm curious to see if it's ok. Their FB page has a lot of recent complaints about poor packaging and leaking products in shipments.

I called ulta again today and they were much more helpful. They gave me a new 20% off everything coupon and I get to keep my points from my damaged order. I placed a new order today replacing everything and got today's online deal of a free bright crystal mini and lotion as well as a free eye liner. So I'm much happier with ulta.

Yeah, it felt really light for a sleep mask, yes?  I always thought most sleep masks are sort of heavy. I mean, I don't mind it at all but I'm so used to the creamy ones.

I've been so disappointed with all the upcoming eyeshadow palettes lately. I've decided to build my own giant Inglot palette. Like I've picked a theme of the 4 seasons and I'm narrowing down 5 shades for each season lol. Plus picking out the right textures so I have enough usable mattes and shimmers. I'm such a dork.

I got a brush cleaner with my Target order and washed most of my brushes yesterday - OH MY GOD THE FILTH. It was so gross. I am officially resolved to wash all my brushes more often (not just eyeshadow).

I was so diligent about cleaning my brushes early on. Lately, I've been slacking. It's a really bad habit I've got to break.

I used to wash all my brushes on Sundays and have gotten out of the habit since I've not been wearing too much makeup so far this summer. It's so oddly satisfying to clean them and see all of them lined up in a row on a towel.

The BEST feeling is getting the blending sponges totally clean though. I have 2 in rotation right now. Since I started using a bar of soap to scrub the sponges, I get a rush of satisfaction every time I clean them (after 2-3 uses).

I'm weird, I know.

I have so many brushes that I don't wash often because I usually have a clean one on hand or for some things like powder or the eyeshadow brush for my base color, I don't wash those that often. #lazy


But I've started keeping a separate container for my used ones that can't be reused, like if I've used it for a really vivid color. That way I can see them and know when I need to do a washing session.

Two unrelated randoms -

1. The Bliss Body scrub in blood orange (sold at Ulta) is awesome. It might be the best scrub I've used.  It's nice and scrubby and not weaksauce like Soap & Glory. Plus it foams up a little. And it smells like freshly squeezed orange juice and is so glorious in the morning.

2. There's some really nice, new 100 point perks out at Sephora right now. Might be time to order a refill of something.

I was wondering if there was any good skincare/makeup stuff.  Prime Day seems like crap to me tbh -- just like their holiday deals, which have gotten less and less appealing.

went to ulta and got my hair colored and cut - it needed it so bad! i went during 5x points on services and picked up a new UD liquid lipstick since i had 5x on that brand as well. i'm now over 2500 points so i can start planning my cart once i get the next 20% off coupon! this last round i was about 60 points shy.

this now means that sephora will have a bunch of exclusive launches that i will love while ulta will have nothing i want for ages. lol.

Heres where I'm at so far. The rows top to bottom are fall, winter, spring and summer. Fall is the only row I'm pretty set on and I'm going to start ordering a few shades to see how close the online swatches look in person.
