We don't start until after Labor Day so we still have almost 7 weeks! I'm sure it will go by fast. We do have orientation August 14 so that is coming up. Her school is a brand new build so we are mostly excited to finally see the inside. She doesn't really talk about it much, we won't get teacher info or anything until end of August.
We are starting after labor day just this year because the school is in the finishing stages of being built! I am SO SO thankful though because we move in 2 weeks and that gives me time to unpack and get oriented. I start work (at the school) a week before. So ready! It's the first time all three of mine are going to be in full time school and I'll be there full time. Going to be quite the change for my family!

Peyton has her screening tomorrow. Then on August 3rd they are having a end of summer festival thing for rising kindergarteners. Teacher meet and greet is August 15th and the first day of school is the 17th. Peyton is not excited. She's scared. Ugh. I'm kind of ready for summer to be over now. It's been fun, but I'm ready to be back to a regular schedule. We tend to over do it a lot and we're all pretty wiped.

I'm so excited for your move! Then new place looks so amazing. What an exciting time for all of you!
Thank you! I'm super excited and super nervous! I am in LOVE with Montessori after this summer of training though. So happy my children will be able to experience it All these babies growing up so fast!
B starts the week of Labor Day. He's not excited and is actually really anxious about it. He's afraid it's going to be hard and he's going to get in trouble He glowers when people ask him about it and stop talking. I've been trying to pump him up, but I don't know if it's helping.
Poor kid loved Pre-K, his teacher, and his friends. He misses them all so much. He clashed with the aides and I think they were the ones talking about behavior and kindergarten being hard because it's just been recently that he mentioned someone at prek told him that.

We are less than two weeks away. August 1st is the first day of school for us, and we're all ready. He's very excited to go back. It's a different school than last year, but the same 8-2:30 schedule, so it should be an easy transition.
A is so excited! We start events on August 8 with meet the teacher, then a class parent meeting and her evaluation the next day and school finally starts on the 11th. A got the teacher that I think will work really well with her personality so I'm looking forward to the year. Her school hours are 8-3 and school is a 4 minute walk so we're going to love the convince. A doesn't read at all so I'm looking forward to her progress this year, as she doesn't let me teach her anything that she considers school work :/
I do think H is going to get bored with her gone all the time, they've really started playing a lot together and are pretty close. I tried to find him a preschool but none around here start until 2.5 and potty trained. I think I'm going to join the local rec center instead so he can go to the childcare a few hours a week so I can have some alone time to exercise or just sit there lol.

Same here like H sully gets bored and the gym really does help him out and gives him a little education
He also won't be old enough to start bc September bday and he is so ready
Olivia seems ready. She did camp kindergarten this week (a camp at the school for a few days a week where they do crafts, get used to the classroom, playground, etc) and cried at bedtime last night when she realized today was her last day. She starts at the end of August and I expect an easy transition as it's the same building as pre K and her her bst buddies will be going too.
Matilda is ready for sure! the only thing that worries me is she still isn't great at wiping her butt! lol. I feel like she holds the poop in/saves it for home because she is embarrassed about wiping.
Since she's been in daycare basically her whole life I don't think she'll have any issues. She's pretty social. She has been practicing her reading but it's clear she can't read at all but I think that's pretty normal. She is pretty good at memorizing books though so it appears she is reading .. but I don't think that will get her very far lol
I'll have to buy her a backpack soon and a new lunch box.
we still haven't gotten any sort of supplies list?? is that weird? My H has called them already to ask as we haven't gotten anything from them since the letter saying she was accepted so we still don't know what teacher she has.

L starts Aug 2. I just figured out his teacher and set up open house last night. Figured out this morning that his bff from prek is in his class, so yay!! He is nervous. He still clings to my leg at summer camp drop off 🙁 He says he hates school, but he seems to have friends and do well. I think he has social anxiety
Blake starts August 28 I believe. I actually saw the school secretary at our local fair, and she said we should be getting a letter this week or next.
I'm still nervous about sending him. He's not 'ready' in the sense that everyone else's kids are. He's still really struggling with OT things. I'm making him practice tracing his name every day. I know he may end up repeating K next year, and I know this is better than another year of preschool, and I know the school is well aware of his weaknesses, and have a plan in place, but I'm still nervous.
My cousin is the sp Ed teacher, so she told me who his main teacher is, and told me she's very structured which should be good for him. I'm most likely going to be nervous and doubt my decision for months
Wow some schools start so early! E doesn't start until September 6 or 7 (they do a staggered start with half the class one day, half the next, then all together on the 3rd day. We don't know which day he starts until we get his class assignment later in the summer). We don't have class lists or supply lists yet so we haven't done anything. We are going to be in Hawaii and then Florida from mid August until 2 days before school starts though, so I need to do backpacks etc pretty soon.
E is going to be at the same school that he has been for PreK the last 2 years, just a longer day. So hopefully not too hard of a transition.
We start the day after Labor Day here.... so still lots of time. All I have so far is the backpack, which I got on Prime Day.
We are still wavering on which school to send him to. We have a spot for him at both a STEM Charter school and the public school. There has been a lot of sketchiness with the board at the Charter School so I think we're going to do the public school, but I'm bummed because we had heard such great things about the charter school up until all this sketchy behavior started about a month ago.
bean47 camp kindergarten sounds like such a great idea! I wish we had that.
laurack we have less than 3 weeks and don't have anything either. We got a student confirmation and that's it. Last year, for preK, we didn't get any information until right before. I wish they would send stuff out sooner. I know our school district just got back from summer break so maybe yours is off for summer too.
It really is! It's run by one of the teachers and an assistant. It's super cheap too, like $10 a day (just the morning). Her little buddy, her babysitters son, is super nervous about the new school and had a hard transition at his preschool so they are doing camp together and love it. Even though Olivia is comfortable in the school, she's never done "camp" so it was a great start for her!
The boys start on Sept 6th. Same school they were in last year for pre-k. We don't get their teacher's name until mid August.
They think they will be in the same class this year, and I;ve had to remind them that not only is that not the case, but they will have some new kids in their class and some kids from last year won't be in their class this year. Their school accepts 14 more kids into K.
They did fine last year, so I'm going to guess this year will be fine too. They will go all day 3 days a week, a shorter day one day,and a half day on Fridays. Its annoying.
I think they are ready for K. We do a few pages out of workbooks almost every day. I don't push them and we stop if they start losing focus. I don't want them to not like learning, so I'm keeping it fun as long as I can.
I'm ready to have longer days to myself but it seems a bit bittersweet. Everything is so final with twins. No younger kid to experience things with again, but no diapers anymore either!
laurack the boys don't wipe their butts either. We planned on them learning to do that this summer. Jack tries sometimes but he's gotten poop on his hand and on his back which makes me gag so now it's H's job to teach him. Except H is gone the majority of their waking hours so you can imagine how well that's going
Caleb's really excited. He got his backpack, but no lunchbox yet because he's only going half day. Unfortunately he's not at the same school as Abby, so that's going to make drop off and pick up interesting, especially once DH gets a job.
Caleb got glasses this week and I can tell they're making a huge difference already.
Namebubbles is having 15% off their school packs if anyone else wants labels. Got some for A and then more for H to get free shipping
do they work on clothes? B has a uniform, and we can resell so I can't use my normal sharpie.
Yes! The school variety I got has clothing labels that can go clothing tags or even tag less labels. We had the labels on A's cloth diapers when she was little so they got washed on super hot and never fell off.
ETA: they do peel off when you want to remove them.

Katelyn has been ready for 2 years since Kalvin started. We know her teachers due to her IEP. She also is going full day due to her IEP, 8:30-3:35. She starts 8/30, he starts the 28th.
I'm worried due to her selective mutism and not speaking. I'm worried due to her food allergies. I'm worried due to the shitshow that was Kalvin's kindergarten fall. I'm worried due to the fact that they are in two different schools and they won't have each other. Basically I'm an anxious mess.
Also I was a fool for scheduling a food challenge test the day before.
We start after Labor Day! I'm excited for him. He started a new daycare this week and I was worried but he loves it School will be 8-230 he will have to go to daycare for before and after
Oh I got a thing in the mail about cub scouts Anyone thinking of doing cub scouts or daisy for their kids?
I think Cub Scouts is 1st grade/7 years old. We're not eligible yet. At least, that's the deal around here.
My son just finished K, and some scout packs are starting a Lion Scout program for kindergarten boys. My son did it and loved it!!! Great introduction to scouting ;-) he says he wants to go all the way to Eagle Scout now lol
A asks every Monday if she gets to go to Kindergarten TODAY??? She has kinder assessment next Monday (and I start work 😩😩) Then teachers make their classes on Wednesday, so we won't know her teacher until the end of next week. They have meet the teacher on the 7th (which is all other grades' first half day of school) then she goes 1 half day the rest of that week and 1 half day the next week) Our stagger start schedule is stupid. I think they do more assessments those days. Her first real week of school is supposed to be the 21, but they gave us that day off because we're like 20 minutes from the eclipse path of totality. Pretty cool they're giving us a day off to go watch. We have lunch box and bookbag. I have an Amazon cart of school supplies waiting on payday. I think she's going to eat up Kindergarten. The only worry I have is that she's already a perfectionist. Like, we are purposefully removing the word perfect from our vocabulary because she says it so much and I'm worried about her getting a complex or causing herself undue stress.
