I got an email from Urban Decay that I moved up a level in their loyalty program. I have not ordered in over a year, so I have no clue why this is. But it made me go on their website, where I discovered the Afterdark palette is on sale. I have wanted it for ages but it's not sold at Sephora, so I finally snagged it.
Also, the ABH Subculture palette is on Sephora as of today but I plan to wait either for a great GWP or the November coupon....
For the first time in my entire life, I have been wearing makeup every day for the last year (except, like, weekends where we don't go anywhere). Just basic makeup like foundation, blush. Only occasionally mascara and eye shadow.
This is a thing for me. I'm actually running out of stuff.

Isn't that a weird feeling? First time I emptied a thing of foundation was like a whole new world. I'd previously only bought new foundation because I dug out my old one for some random one off event and realized it was YEARS old and had gotten weird and smelled funny.

i got the same email from urban decay - i haven't ordered in months. it was odd.
I get perioral dermatitis (a form of eczema) on my chin once a year. I have it now. Antibiotics are the only solution, but now my insurance is making me do a step program for doxycycline (i.e. have to get pre-approved from insurance for it) and don't have the wherewithal to deal with that. But I can't get facials or facial peels until it's gone.

I mean, I've run out of foundation before thru natural use. But not other items. Usually I've had to throw them out.
But I have this powder blush from Cargo that I think I've had, unopened, for something like a decade. I started using it nearly every day back in November and I'm finally at the point where all that's left is the edges at the side of the pan.
I went to my marshalls to look for the bite lipsticks mentioned in the July randoms. I did not find them. But I did find a bunch of real techniques brush sets - the eye kit (purple) and the core kit (gold/yellow) both in the little carrying case. $7.99.

Yours may have gotten them a few months ago and sold out. I picked up mine after I ended my last no-buy in April.
people are recommending to keep a toiletry bag packed at all times. It's the kind of totally practical, common sense habit that I praticed pre-Sephora addiction. Now I"m like, "but I don't know what skin care I will want to use on my face in two months."

LOL. I have a toiletry bag packed at all times, but it goes with me to the gym on a weekly basis, so shit gets traded in and out all the time.

I pare my routine down when I travel. Even for my makeup, I only bring one quad and one eyeliner, one blush, etc. Also, I bought a bunch of very small squeeze tubes from eBay. So if I MUST add something to my travel routine, it's easy to do so.

My makeup gets pared down, but the skin care I pack depends on the nature of the trip - how long it is, where I'm going, etc. An overnight? I might just grab a couple foils and my soap. A place where all moisture will be sucked from my face (like if there's going to be a lot of hot tub time), then I need B-Hydra and a face mist, whereas I don't need those things otherwise. So even if I pack in advance, I still need to sort through shit.

I try to pack multi-taskers. Like I squeezed out some of my Curel ointment into a container which serves as an extra-heavy moisturizer if my skin needs it. All of my teeny containers help a lot, though. I have lots of tiny pots, airless bottles, and spray bottles so adding stuff barely takes up any room.

I am happy to be stocking up on UD sheer lipsticks for $10 at Nordstrom rack. Also they had the electric palette for $24, I originally paid $50? Also they have MAC lipsticks now!

I completely forgot that glycolic acid destabilizes Vit C and I've been using TO ascorbyl glucoside after Pixy Glow so that's a big fail. I'll start alternating them.
I should start alternating TO HA and TO Niacinamide in the mornings as well. My skin is not reacting harshly to the acids so maybe it's going to be okay but I still want to proceed with caution.
I went from using TO Buffet and Truth Serum for AM and PM to all of these products, LOL.

electric palette is also on sale for $24 at Sephora. Not that I was considering it or anything...

Even when I was traveling nearly weekly, I didn't have my makeup and skincare bag packed and ready to go at a moment's notice. I had some things, sure, like toothbrush and face wash (I'm pretty loyal on that). But the rest? No way. I want to use up different samples, based where I'm going and how much time I have on my hands (e.g., bringing a multi-step thing, face masks).
I'm going to Montreal to see my BFF and of course I did some inquiring on what makeup and skin care I needed to pick up while I'm there. I have Bourjois, Annabelle and Marcelle items on my list and maybe Lise Watier if I need any skincare stuff.

Speaking of travels, you know what felt really great during a 14 hour flight? Those face mask sheets on my face. I put one on while everybody's sleeping (because I don't want to freak people out, LOL) and it felt so refreshing.

can you link said teeny tiny containers? my toiletry bag is always so full because the travel containers I see are too big for the amount of product that I need.

Subculture is a total pos, I returned mine already.
I bought a vanity off of Craigslist last week and I can't decide what color to paint it. I'm usually good with this but I hate the color I tried on it.
Last night, a woman at the dog park who I had never seen there before said she loved my lip gloss, which was the Bite stuff. Which prompted a long conversation about our love for all things Sephora. It was like a real life MUB conversation. She just moved to town and is totally awesome for reasons other than her appreciation for shimmery lip gloss. Now I have a new friend, thanks to Bite.
