Mists of Avalon. I have a feeling that will be my answer all month!
QOTD: I don't understand the question...
Do you put your socks & shoes on as: (a) one sock, the other sock, then one shoe and the other shoe; or (b) one sock, one shoe; then the other sock and other shoe?

Ha! Sock sock, for sure. We have dogs, so I always wear socks. No way I have a naked foot. The five second rule doesn't apply in our house - lol.
Finished: Never Let You Go - ok, not great (I feel like authors think if there's a "TWIST" it's going to be a best seller and somehow the public still eats it up. Am I too harsh?)
Beautiful Broken Rules - I always think the kindle prime lending book will be decent and then I'm like "you were suckered again." It's not that the story or the writing was terrible, but the dialogue given the ages of the characters was completely unbelievable.
Reading: Paris for One and other stories - read the first story and liked it so far
QOTW-I hate socks, so it's either flip flops or TOMS. I do wear comfy socks around the house in the winter.
I'm closing in on the last quarter of Edge of Eternity. I'm really liking it. Just as much as the first two which I was worried about after reading some friend reviews.
I'm also reading the last of the Hidden Legacy series. I'm about halfway through and really enjoying it.
QOTW: Sock Sock/ Shoe Shoe. I love socks. I only wear lighter shoes in the summer because of weather, I would be all bundled up in 8 layers all year if it was reasonable.
Reading After Anna by Alex Lake and Local Girl Missing by Claire Douglas.
QOTW - Sock, sock, shoe, shoe.
I had 7 library holds show up at once yesterday, oops. I forgot to keep track of them. I also had a bunch of overdrive holds come up too. I had H drive me to the library and his eyes bulged out of his head when I came out with my stack of books. I have a lot of reading to do in the next few weeks. The plan is to get through the books first and then the over drive stuff. I already put the overdrive books on the app and turned off the wifi lol.
I just finished All the Light We Cannot See. Loved it. Some Pulitzers feel overrated and too "fancy" for me - like the author is "trying" to win a Pulitzer - but this one I just loved. I can actually see myself re-reading it, which I don't think I can ever say about Goldfinch.
Then I started The Hate U Give. I'm like a page in, lol.
I just finished Gather the Daughters, which I couldn't put down but didn't really enjoy. Up next is last minute summer reading for my last minute school job.
QOTW: I don't put on shoes until I'm actually leaving the house, so if it's cool enough for socks, definitely both socks first.
I just finished two terrible zombie apocalypse related books - ok writing, and a decent premise, but a lack of editing and then just general laziness made them bad. They were Until the End and In the End by Tracey Ward.
But prior to that, I read the latest in a ZA series that I want everyone who likes this kind of book to read: the author is Sarah Lyons Fleming, and she has two sister series: Until the End of the World, which follows a group of people who leave Brooklyn as the ZA hits. Then there's the In the City series, which is about a related group of people who, you guessed it, remain in Brooklyn. This one only has 2 books (of 3, I think) out so far. It's really well written, with great characters and a lot of cool survival related stuff. Some romance in each as well, and nicely done in that regard. I can't recommend these enough.
Michael Connelly has a new book that I'm about to start, with a new main character, this time a woman detective named Renee Ballard. This book is called The Late Show, and it looks good. I'll read anything by him; I hope this lives up to his other stuff.
QOTW: I'm a sock / sock person, because I generally wear socks around the house ... even to bed!
Currently reading Edge of Eternity, the third book in the Century trilogy. It's fine but not great. It's rather predictable, following the formula of the earlier books, and I can't bring myself to care about most of the characters. Luckily I am on vacation with lots of time to read. I don't think I could make any headway otherwise.

I completely agree. I've had to stop reading the latest popular twisty thriller because they're generally awful.
What Happens Now by Jennifer Castle - 3/5* Beard in Mind (Watson Brothers) by Penny Reid - 4/5* Elements of Chemistry by Penny Reid - 3/5* Dating-ish (Knitting in the City #6) by Penny Reid - 4/5* Dear Aaron by Mariana Zapata - 4.5/5*
QOTW: I generally wear Birkenstocks. Sans socks. I when I do wear socks, I guess it's sock-sock/shoe-shoe.
I'm still trying to finish all the book series I have started but haven't completed.
Read last week: Waking Gods (#2 in series) by Sylvain Neuvel - Sci-Fi; 4.5 stars; I liked this one even more than the first one! Great audiobook production too Archangel's Heart (#9 in series) by Nalini Singh - PNR; 4 stars; the series went back to Elena/Raphael, which I prefer, and this one had great creepy atmosphere
Currently reading: Crooked Kingdom (#2 in series) by Leigh Bardugo - YA/Fantasy; I just haven't had much time for anything other than audiobooks this week, so this ebook didn't see much movement Career of Evil (#3 in series) by JK Rowling/Robert Galbraith - mystery/thriller; I think this is my favorite of the series so far!
QOTW: I very rarely wear socks or shoes that require socks. Flip flops all the way!
I'm reading Climate of Hope by Carl Pope and Michael Bloomberg. It's trying to convince me that we're not all going to die without federal support for climate change programs. I am really craving an escapist fantasy book, but my mom gave this to me with a huge amount of excitement so I need to finish it.
Listening to Caraval and should be able to finish it before it expires.
QOTW: shoes are always last, either without socks (summer) or with socks (winter or summer running shoes). I prefer to be barefoot inside when it's warm enough.

I've been putting off All the Light We Cannot See and The Goldfinch forever for this exact reason. Maybe I need to just go for it.

That's some dedication! I always want to do it, but I get sidetracked easy. I have a few PNR/UF series that I need to complete like the Midnight Breed, and also the Dark Hunter series. But man, that's a commitment.

it was really really good. The chapters are all really short, which I love because it makes me feel like I am making progress even if I just read 4 pages, lol. And it was well written and sad but lovely. Like it was depressing but a depressing book that I would read again because it made me feel good about humanity in some ways.
The goldfinch.....it was good, but I read it once and that was enough.

Well, I'm only trying to finish any series that only has 3 or less books left for me to read (that are already published). According to my calculations that means I have 11 more books total left to read to meet that goal, not including the two books I am currently reading.
On the other hand, there are four series of books that my hopes of finishing anytime soon are zilch due to how many books are left for me to read (The Hollows by Kim Harrison, Imp by Debra Dunbar, Elemental Assassin by Jennifer Estep, and Chief Inspector Armand Gamache by Penny Louise). If I tried finishing those series that would be 40 books alone I would have to read! Not happening.
There are also plenty of book series I have started that I have zero intention of reading the next installment, because I'm just not interested in the story.

I'm back into The Obelisk Gate. I lost my overdrive checkout when I was only halfway through, and I just got it back last night.
I'm a sock sock/slipper slipper person. I rarely wear shoes that require socks (Toms, ballet flats), but I get cold at home so I need both in the house. Regular socks in summer, fuzzy socks in winter, slippers (the boot kind) always. I do wear socks in boots, though.

I'm currently reading Lincoln in Bardo in hardcover. The writing style/format is a little hard to get used to but it reads quick.
I have Lord of Shadows going on my kindle. It's cute. I don't know why I keep reading about these damn shadowhunters but I feel compelled to finish the series.
I just started listening to The Alice Network by Kate Quinn. I'm not too far in but I'm liking it so far.
QOTW: I'm with others in that I prefer flip flops all the time. I actually hate wearing shoes. In the spring/summer/fall I only wear shoes if I'm working out or it's raining. When it's cold out and I have to wear shoes, the first thing I do when I get home is put flip flops on.
I think I'm the first one so far that's a sock shoe/sock shoe person though. I like to focus on one foot at a time I guess.
