Any issues or vents? The temps keep going up for my half this weekend. The weather has been beautiful lately so I'm annoyed that the hottest day of the last week or two is going to be the day of my half.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I'm feeling good lately. My legs were feeling beat last week. I had my first interval run this morning and I nailed my paces for all of them except 1.

Training plan for the week? Sunday: 90 minute cyclocross session Monday: supposed to be yoga. Wound up being 2.5 mile walk to dinner after the power went out Tuesday: 60 minute trainer ride Wed: TBD Ride Thursday: recovery ride Friday: Off Sat.: CX Race Sunday: TBD
Any issues or vents? Hurricane Irma took out power for 17 hours. That was not fun.

I'm going to USMS national convention tomorrow morning. They offer coached workouts every morning, but I have never managed to go to one and subsequently be on time for the first meeting of the day. So I'm not sure I'm going to do the coached ones (wherein they truck you to some amazing long-course facility at o-dark-thirty) but instead I'll swim an hour in the hotel pool. Mmm, overheated hotel water.

I managed a 1:35 100!! (Lol, I only hit that time once and by the end of the 10, I was pooting along at 1:55, but I hit it!)

What are you training for? Date? Turkey Trot 5k - 11/23
Training plan for the week? Mon - Push strength Tue - Pull strength Wed - Cardio Thu - Leg hypertrophy Fri - Cardio, Push hypertrophy Sat - Pull hypertrophy Sun - Cardio
Any issues or vents? We've started adding some early morning workouts to our routine and it suuuuuuucks. I'm also amazed at how many people are at the gym at 5:30 am.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I made some big improvements on legs this past week. I deadlifted 105 lbs, which is a big deal for me since a month ago I could barely lift up an empty 45 lb bar.
What are you training for? Date? Indianapolis monument 11/4, by way of Air Force Half 9/16 (!!!)
Training plan for the week? Mini-taper for the half this weekend. I'm not going for a PR, just using this as a training run, but I don't think the extra rest will hurt. M: #realmitch T: 4 miles W: power flow, 5 miles Th: #realmitch, 4 miles F: power flow Sa: 13.1 miles Su: rest
Any issues or vents? I'm still irritated that I didn't get all my miles in last week due to a side stitch.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I had a really excellent 18 miler on Saturday.

What are you training for? Date? Beer Run 5k 9/16, Chicago Marathon 10/8, Fall 50 Relay 10/22, Madison Half 11/12
Training plan for the week? M- 6 miles T- 10 miles 5x600 W- Rest Tr- 11 miles F- 5 miles S- 17 miles & Beer 5k S- Rest
Any issues or vents? Scheduling mainly. Not H&F my mom got some bad test results after being sick and pretty sure it's the c word. She's having more test, MRI etc and hopefully will have answers this week.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I got to pace a friend in a 5k over the weekend for her PR. She did even better than her super secret goal!

Glad you made it through and power is back. How are things now? I was an hour north of Atlanta for a work tour trip starting Sunday. We ended up leaving for home yesterday after the weather uncertainty.
Freedom's Run Marathon 9/30, Medoc Trail Marathon 10/21
M: 8 T: 20 W: active recovery (basically whatever I feel like doing Th: 8 F: 6 Sa: mud run/obstacle course w/ DD1 Su: 8 hr trail race (5.22m loops), might be a DNS womp womp
Issues: I need to taper. My piriformis is tight and caused some sciatica issues. It is better, but achy.
Also, DH picked up a shift on Sunday and I have a race. I might check around for a babysitter, but even then I would have to cut it down to 1-2 loops since the kids have a meet. I'm not sure it is worth the stress it would cause to race.
AW's: I got in my 20 today and I felt strong. This training cycle was not my best and I'm happy to be in taper (only a couple days late)!

Any issues or vents? DD has been sick since Thursday so I haven't been able to use the gym daycare. We may go tonight depending on how she is after her nap. She's just had clear boogers and fine otherwise but I still feel bad giving it to anyone else.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I ran 4 miles last night all under 10 minutes per mile! Its been a long time since I've done that.

Any issues or vents? Just tired and super bummed that it's dark in the mornings now and I have to use the treadmill during the week. It's a stupid thing to feel sad about but I really love being outside in the morning quiet.

Century Ride SATURDAY *breaths into paper bag* Oly Tri 9/30
M - rest T - swam this am, 90ish minutes on the trainer tonight. W - run some amount? Th - Another trainer ride? Of...some distance? F - I'd love to get a short shakeout ride in here...but have to drive to NJ with kids and a ton of stuff and then turn around and drive to Philly with the bikes. If we get to philly before dark it might happen. otherwise no. Sa - RIDE 100 MILES OMG. Su - uhhhh...hope my legs are still attached? Go for a swim maybe. Probably not run the 6 miles on my schedule, but stranger things have happened.
Issues - I can't believe I'm about to try to ride my bike 100 miles. I feel unprepared. I am unprepared. I mean...not totally, but certainly not ideally prepared. Our max training distance was 76 miles and it went really well, but...we only got to do that once and 100 miles is just a long ass way. And this ride is weird because it's in enforced groups with a leader and we're supposed to maintain a minimum pace, so I can't just get tired and drop back because the whole damn group will have to wait for me. They have this military "no rider left behind" thing going on. Which...might make it easier really - certainly drafting the whole way won't suck - but I just don't know how it's going to go.
Highlights - 1 mile OWS on Saturday felt really good. Despite the bay beard.

My county came out pretty good. About 2000 homes without power compared to nearly 150,000 in the county next door & 75,000 2 counties over. One of the biggest trees fell in my neighborhood. The power company linemen were out at first light and had power back in about 2 hours later. All of the neighbors were out, and we cheered the linemen on as they drove away. Power may not be restored for a few days for some people. I feel bad for those in Florida that may be weeks without power, including some of my relatives.
Everything is fine today-just some misty cool crappy weather. My house is straightened back up, my yard service has already been here to clean up the yard, and I'm working.

Indirectly H&F, but currently dealing with some who don't understand my goals (or running in general) and snide comments about "bailing" on a college reunion event because I'm planning to be home by a decent hour in my own bed and not staying in a hotel partying all night- I mean, hello people we're way too old for this crap whether I run or not. Ugh. I really want to just not go at all now.

Any issues or vents? Just trying to get nutrition under control. I've been eating pretty low carb for quite a while now, and I'm finally up enough in mileage where I can't get by without the carbs, and it's been a struggle to change my habits.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I was actually able to get my butt up out of bed this morning to run before work (this is a big deal for me, lol) and I enjoyed it!

Issues: schedule + heat woes, nothing major
Highlight: running my first race with DS on Sunday! It was a 10k and I was woefully undertrained with the BOB, but it was a great course and fun to share something I love with my best little buddy
Training plan for the week? - Mon rest day. Tues 3000m swim, 25 mile group ride. I think. If the weather holds. Wed: Long run. Thurs: Hill work session on the trainer. Fri: 4000m swim. Sat: Lou course ride, 1.5 hour run brick. Sun: 30 min easy spin, 2000m recovery swim.
Any issues or vents? - I am having a harder time shaking the soreness and recovering these days.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? - I finally got a run/walk combo down that I think will work for me!

Training: What!? I'm supposed to be training? I'm less than 12 weeks out? *sigh* half marathon 11/4. I don't know when I last ran so that's how training is going.

Issues/Vents: I have given up on running in the heat or waking up at the butt crack of dawn so running has not happened.
