Jalapeñomel - Ugh! I'm sorry that you had a long, anovulatory cycle, too. If your last cycle was not normal, I would probably ignore it and continue doing OPKs the way you have previously.

So I should start around CD10?
I have my first RE appointment tomorrow, so I'll be eager to hear what he has to say.

My chart has nothing to analyze yet but I am pretty pissed off that my period arrived almost a day and a half a day late and now on day 2 I've basically stopped bleeding and am just spotting. Wtf. Either it's going to come back again tomorrow (doesn't usually come in and out like that) or something tells me that bodes poorly for the state of my lining. :/ All my life I've had long heavy periods and now all of a sudden it's a nothing. Ugh.

I'm sorry, that's super frustrating. I've been on hormonal BC most of my adult life, and now that I'm not my periods are super short and light. I went on BC at 16 because of long, erratic bleeds, then on the pill I had 5 day "normal" periods, then with the IUD I didn't have any. I assumed coming off the BC they would be long and super heavy, and short cycles, but it's the opposite and I'm assuming that's not a good sign. I'm not trying to one up you, just commiserate.

last and this cycle. I thought I would be traveling next week but I was able to push it back, but my CBFM hasn't shown a shift in estrogen for "high" fertility, so I'm worried this will be either a super long (and I shouldn't have moved the trip) or anovulatory cycle again (just had one 2 cycles ago).

No, I appreciate the commiseration! But I'm sorry you're having a similar problem. It's very frustrating. I've never been in birth control of any kind, but I have suspected PCOS so my cycles have been kind of a mess most of my life. For years and years I got my period very infrequently (every 3 or 6 months or so) and it was very long and heavy. Then over the past 2 years or so it's been regular-ish, cycles between 30 and 40 days in length and 4-5 day periods. Now the last two were 3 days plus 2 days of very light spotting and now this 2 days and very light spotting. I just don't understand why there is no logic or reason to it.

So I went to the RE today. He could not find my left ovary, so either it is not producing follicles or it's just an asshole. He did, however, see a nice follicle in my right ovary, so I will ovulate this cycle, most likely in the next 5 days.
I had 12 or so vials of blood drawn, and he ordered an SHG for next month. He's pretty confident that I can and will get pregnant with his help, so I hope he's right.
Now that I went, I'm re-thinking this whole IUI/IVF thing, but I'm still not convinced we will do all the way.
DH will get semen and blood drawn after this week (doc wants DH to be without ejaculation for a day before this happens, but he wants us to have sex EOD this week to catch ovulation, starting tomorrow or Sunday at the latest).
And I just realized that this is analyzing charts threads, so probably not the most relevant post here. LOL

Jalapeñomel I am also guilty of putting my RE/testing results in this thread so post away! I'm glad it sounds like your doctor has good feeling about your ability to get pregnant. As much as I stress and obsess about everything I am so happy and relieved we are working with an RE because the level of experience and confidence they have overcoming obstacles to pregnancy is very reassuring. I hope your doctor is right and they can get you pregnant but you should take it at your own pace regarding what level of interventions you're comfortable with. It's ok to have preferences and limits, and it's also ok for those to change over time if that feels right. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Ok, here's my boring day 8 chart.
Really this is just an excuse that my HSGS results are back, everything looks good. We are going to do our first IUI this cycle! I was going to get a 3 pack of cycles at a discount but I'm leaning toward potentially moving on to more monitoring and medication if this first one doesn't stick, so I am going to wait to make that decision until next time. The sperm is just too expensive to do lots of unmedicated tries, there's no way we'll be able to afford to keep going if we do it that way.
I am excited but also scared! It won't be until around Oct. 2nd or so because of my long cycles so all I can do between now and then is chug pomegranate juice and hope for the best.

seeyalater52, we are bringing the stepsons and our Italian exchange student. Mostly visiting friends, but also my postdoc lab. I'm super excited. I really miss living in Boston.

That sounds so fun! Very cool that you have an exchange student too. I also miss living in Boston, even though I come here to work every day. It's funny how different it feels living in a totally different (and much smaller) city even in somewhat close proximity (although it's a different state, which does give it some additional flavor.) I hope you have tons of exciting adventures and that you get great fall weather. It's miserable and rainy here this week - we're getting hit with the remnants of Jose I think.
