Now that that bug is stuck in your ear the rest of the day, how's everyone doing?
I have to go to the dentist first thing this morning. I haven't been flossing, so I'm feeling confident I'm going to get a lecture. The rest of the day is bat shit crazy. Okay, the week is bat shit crazy. I'm traveling tomorrow through Friday morning. I get home at 2:00 am Friday, in time for Homecoming at the kids' school, where I'm in charge of decorating both class tents. Yay me! And I almost forgot the kids are in the Homecoming parade that morning.
I'm dreading the whole week. Can I just go back to bed?

Our school district announced yesterday afternoon that school is only a 1/2 day today (no afternoon) due to the excessive heat. (A lot of schools in MI don't have AC because it's usually not 90 degrees for a week.) Luckily, I already had my day blocked off, so I don't have any meetings, so I'm going to pick up the kids from school and work from home in the afternoon. I had already been considering picking them up half way through the day because of the heat. Dehydration is one of the things that triggers DS's migraines, and because it's been so hot for so long, I'm worried he could get dehydrated (even though we've been having him drink a lot of water and Gatorade).
DH told me around 9 pm last night that he had a meeting at 7:30 and needed me to do drop off. So I got to work about an hour later than usual, because traffic is much worse when I get on the highway 20-30 minutes later than usual.

mommyatty, I hate the flossing lectures. I wish I could sign a waiver about it - yes, I know the risks of not flossing, stop lecturing me. Just tell me if there are issues and I’ll put two and two together. I get the flossing lecture when I take both of my kids and myself. Enough!
This week is actually not that bad for me. My boss is on vacation so at least I won’t be getting any new projects and can catch up. Tomorrow is my only “bad” day. I have a webinar that I’m running (I hate webinars!), DD has a cross country meet that could make us late for the RE orientation which I’m not looking forward to anyway. The rest of the week is meeting free and a lot cooler temp-wise.
This weekend we had some fun in the pool with the 90 degree temps and got some things done around the house. I spontaneously decided to move DS’ room around and put up some closet doors which we had taken down years ago when DD and DS shared a room. I hung curtains and was sick of them. I’m amazed at how much better his room looks. On the other hand, I’m really sore from doing that.

On the topic of flossing: MH flosses every night. Didn't go to the dentist for 10 years. Goes. Gets a gold star. Apparently flossing is even more important than going to the dentist.
This week is going to be brutal, but only because I am working 10 hour days to save some time for next week when I leave for Pennsylvania for a fall foliage/New York City girls trip. My parents recently moved to Pennsylvania and my best friend from high school lives in Michigan and I live in Alabama. She and I are meeting at my parents house and doing a five day road trip of the north east. So excited!

DH has a man cold. But he won't take the day off because "I feel like I need to go in". I get that sub plans are a lot of work but he's not resting. He even steam cleaned the carpets on Saturday even though he was sick. He won't take cold medicine and is constantly snorting.
I just have to get through 4 days of work and then I'm off to SF. I have everything planned, down to the restaurants and which days because some are closed on Sunday. Thanks to k3am, I have Albert already booked as my Wingz driver and he sent me a text to tell me he has a car seat. I booked a hair appointment for next week too and I asked for purple highlights! I'm excited and nervous at the same time because my work uniform policy is natural hair color only, so I asked if she could hide the highlights enough that they would hide in a pony tail. She was confident it would work. I'm ready for a bold change.

It's the last full week before vacation and like most of you, it's going to be insanely busy. The only night we didn't have something going WAS Friday, then DH said he wants to go to the football game since we haven't been to one and our nephew is apparently kicking ass, so we should probably go.
I have to actually sell insurance today. It's just a re-write so no big deal, but he's also 13 minutes late. I'm not actively seeking out P&C policies since I'm unsure if I want to keep doing that part, but I also had a 4 policy bundle fall in my lap Saturday. I hate to write it knowing I might just be pushing it off to the main office next year but the extra commission would be nice.
I'm tired, got back from a work trip at 9:30am on Saturday on a red eye flight. The the weekend was jam packed with extended family stuff. Also it is hot, it's 90 in Wisconsin at the end of September. I'm not sure that DS's school has air conditioning, so we will see how things go.
First day of work. I rushed to get out the door to drop the boys off at DC, then got to my office and realized that I forgot to bring nipples for DS2's bottles. I had to call my mom and have her run over one. Ooops.
I'm waiting around for orientation to start. Somehow 2 people are late for their first day, so the other new hire and I are just siting around waiting.
I accomplished my half marathon walk yesterday! Took me about 4.5 hours, which I'm pretty proud of, considering I totally slacked on my training. It was HOT and I don't think I've ever been that sweaty in my life, but I stayed hydrated pretty well. Crashed in bed at 7 PM and slept on through til this morning. Feeling fine today! My legs are tired, but not terrible, which is good because I leave today for a conference that involves a ton of walking at a massive convention center.
This week kicks off a few weeks of craziness. Gone til Thursday for the conference, 2 day trip to Charlotte next week, home for a week, then gone to scope out resorts the week after that. I feel kind of bad that DH has to handle so much on his own in such a short span. But, it's really rare for my job to be like this, so he'll survive.
Super busy week. Volleyball tonight and tomorrow. Football practice all week with a game Thursday. At least this is the last week of volleyball.
I did get ahead of the game and made lasagna and spaghetti to eat this week. I have a big training tomorrow but am just in a holding pattern today hoping everything is ready and wondering what I am forgetting.

I'm off to London tonight. And I have a cold and feel awful. Just have to get through the day. At this point, I'm looking forward to the flight where hopefully I can pass out in those nice pod things.
Weekend was ok. Caught up with a girlfriend from my old city last night and that was fun. I really need to start making friends here! We've been here for 5 months and I have yet to make a friend. But I don't even know where to start. It's not like I have free time to pursue any hobbies. I was hoping we'd make friends through DS's activities but so far everyone is just dropping their kid off at activities so I haven't connected with anyone yet. If anyone has any other ideas, I'm all ears!
I was out of town at a work conference last week so playing catch up this week and trying to wrap up projects before maternity leave. I have my 34 week check up tonight and hoping to talk about labor with my doctor. I went at 37 weeks with DD2 so it's starting to feel real. My friend passed away during the week so I had her funeral on Saturday and it was really tough. She left behind a husband and three young kids. DH went to the football game yesterday so was gone all day/night and I had my Mom, niece and nephew over. I'm emotionally and physically spent.
We have something every night this week so it's going to be busy. I just want to lay on the couch...
Is this weird? DH took the kids to his parents' house for dinner on Saturday. There was no notice and they invited us that day so I didn't go because I had the funeral and just wasn't up for it. MIL gave DD2 her birthday presents. Her birthday isn't for another month. I'm a little miffed because I wasn't there and our family party for her is NEXT weekend. DH says it's no big deal.

My husband also didn't go to the dentist for more than 10 years (ie-from the time he was in college until we got married and I made an appt for him). He does not ever floss. That lucky duck has STILL never ad a cavity and the dentist always says how great his dental health is. Grrumble.

This weekend was good. We were busy on Saturday with soccer and church and I got to go visit my friend who juts had a baby. So I made lasagna to bring her. Which means I made 5 lasagnas to freeze. And I had to go to the grocery store so my fridge is fuller than it's ever been!
Sunday we went to the mall and bought some jeans and witnessed a legit fight (people are so stupid and annoying and I'm so bothered my 5 year old saw real adults punching each other and bleeding). And it's the nicest mall in the area!! Ugh.
I wanted to nap Sunday afternoon but the boys never let me so we made cupcakes and went to the park.

Oh and ds seems to be doing fine since the concussion Wednesday so we are going to let him do his 30 min swim lesson tonight. I figure it's an easier test than soccer practice tomorrow.
I had a productive weekend that didn't involve any craft time as I got busy deep cleaning to dig out my craft stuff. I took my entire jeep packed full of stuff to goodwill. My back is killing me but our spare room actually can be walked in along with my bedroom.
This week sucks...I have tax convention starting Thursday and its a little over and hour away so we are driving back and forth. My mom is picking DD up from aftercare Thursday and then DD is having a sleep over so my mom can take her and pick her up from school on Friday. Then Saturday DH can deal with DD while I go to the last and longest day. Thursday is 1-5, Friday is 8-3, and Saturday is 8-4 plus it is at a casino so lots of stinky smoke smell to deal with
mellym, I'm sorry about your friend. My in-laws do the same thing but to DH and it always drives me crazy as giving his b-day gift 6-8 weeks in advance and then forgetting his actual b-day always puts him in a bad mood. They did it to DD one year and I refused it as she was still little and didn't get it and was like her b-day isn't for another month you can save it until then.

Flossing: I floss. I always have cavities. Always. Not that this makes sense, but I now don't go to the dentists (very often) b/c every dentist I've ever been to, no matter what I've been doing, finds a cavity.
We had such a busy weekend. 2 birthdays, 1 play date (that's a lot for us), bike ride, 10 mile run, bought a used bike, lunch with my mom. I need a nap. The kids had a crazy blast this weekend though, so I'm glad of that.
This day started hard though. It's 11:30 and already I haven't finished one thing on my "to do" list b/c I've been doing everyone else's monday list.
I'm off to London tonight. And I have a cold and feel awful. Just have to get through the day. At this point, I'm looking forward to the flight where hopefully I can pass out in those nice pod things.

Do you run at all? Or want to? I've met a lot of awesome women through Moms Run This Town/She Runs This Town (MRTT/SRTT) if there's a local chapter near you.

Man, I made it 5 miles into my 25-miles-by-backroads-with-no-lights-and-no-gas-stations commute when my low gas censor dinged and I was too chicken to risk it. I ended up back tracking 2 miles to fuel up and being 10 minutes late, which equals no surface spots left so I'm in the parking building thingy (could NOT remember structure until I started typing this sidebar). I'm not normally claustrophobic, but parking structures sure trigger me.
Sorry for your loss mellym, sounds like you've had a rough week. On the present thing - this would be totally normal in my family, and my H would think it weird.

We had an unusually busy weekend and this is my last week of part time hours for a while. I wanted a nap. I took the toddler to CFA to play, to the bank and for an epic bike ride. Nap still didn't happen. 😭😭😭😭
New goal: early bedtime. I think I'll take everyone swimming after school.
That's why I was annoyed with DH - why didn't you stop her from opening it and say to bring it to her party next weekend? The man has a lot of issues dealing with his mother so it just added to my annoyance.

I've been mostly lurking here the last month. Work and home have been kinda crazy!
We had a good weekend, soccer, errands and a playdate on Saturday. Sunday we drove 2.5 hours each way for a picnic with DH's college friends. The kids had a great time in the bounce house rental and it was nice to see old friends. Traffic was mostly cooperative on the way home.
Not a crazy week at work finally!! Maybe I can actually get some work done. Trying to plan a girls night for Friday or Saturday.
