186momx - is there a good park to run in ten minutes or so away? Ninety minutes is a long time - you could even watch for part of it and get a run in! I think my inability to sit still (unless I'm home with a book) may have something to do with my approach.
2chatter, actually there is. Her babysitter from the summer lives about 10 minutes from gym and has a park close. Plus I have a month until clocks change and it will be pitch black out for the whole practice. Thanks for the idea. Now to get DD on board as she enjoys me hanging at practice. FYI I normally read during practice.
186momx - I can't focus to read at sports. It makes me crazy. I am too peripherally attracted by the kids, other parents, background noise. I truly feel insane if I try to read - and it amps up my stress level because then I'm failing to do something. I hope you can sneak in a couple runs before the time change! Im so excited as after the time changes it will be sooo easy to get the kids fed, showered and to bed earlier. That only helps with soccer though, not gymnastics or volleyball
I'm with you 2chatter! My friend looked at me like I was crazy when I told her I don't watch DD1 at gymnastics and DH doesn't come with. She is of the mind that both parents need to attend practices and games. Soccer practice was only 30 minutes at this age and I had DD2 with me so we played on the playground. It was really nice one on one time with my youngest actually. I usually read my book or work on emails during gymnastics.
