Never heard of it until my French friend mentioned how she use to love watching it (she is 25) so I found the old episodes in French for my kid and she loves it. She also had read a lot of the books. Seems like it is pretty educational.
My sister (born in 1990) was obsessed as a kid and we only had PBS kids shows so this and Wishbone were in high rotation at our house. It's very educational!

Oh man, I love wishbone. I can still song the song. Confession, I was born in 1982. I still watched it all.
Yes, because I read the Babysitter's Club books obsessively as a kid, and there were a lot of Magic School Bus (books, not show--I was in my teens when that premiered) references in that series for some reason. My kids like the show, but not as much as Ninjago or Wild Kratts.
That's right! Claudia and her goofy outfits were always Mrs. Frizzle - like.

Ditto. My sister is 7 years younger and I watched all the early/mid 90s stuff with her.
She sent my DD a Wishbone DVD for xmas last year.
Eta: and now DD is a huge MSB fan thanks to Netflix.

I distinctly remember one of the other babysitters describing one of Claudia's outfits as her dressing like Ms. Frizzle.
I'm sad that some people don't know! I LOVED this show and the books as a kid.
I think it would be problematic if I did know, seeing as how I would've been watching a children's cartoon while in college.
I would have been in high school when the show came out, but the books were written in mid '80s. I've never read or watched either, but I'm aware of it's existence because of the Babysitters Club books.
Yes but I didn't watch it as a kid. I remember seeing commercials for it but I was a little old for I it I think. It was popular when I talk too but it was old then.

Yes. I was born in 1980. In school we had the books. My brother was born in 1987 and he watched the show on tv. Now I am a teacher and a parent--my 6 year old LOVES the show. I tend to leave them for sub plans or when I lose my voice while teaching.
Yes, I was exactly the target age for it when it aired in the 90s, was appropriately obsessed, and have watched all the episodes on Netflix with my kids. I would have assumed it was common knowledge even among other generations, the same way I knew about Blues Clues or Dora the Explorer was even though it was after my time.

I loved the books when I was a kid, and I watched the show sometimes, even though I was too old for it because we didn't have cable and had limited options.
My kids have watched all of the old series and are starting the new ones. I still love the old episodes. I haven't watched enough of the new ones to form an opinion. I love that LMM did the theme song.
Yes. DS has read some of the books, and his kindergarten class watched the shows sometimes. I tried playing the shows for him at home, but he was not interested. I was too old to know about it the first time around.

Born in 1979 and have seen all the episodes. And Ghost Writer. My brother was born in '84 though so that counts for some of it.
