I am off on Monday because school and pre-school is closed. I could have sent the kids to the aftercare (they would do full day care), but it was $36 a kid, so I figured to just take a vacation day.
We have a birthday party Sunday. Possibly church. Tell me what to do Sat as a family and what to do Mon with just the kids.
I may want to tackle the playroom- maybe if I feel ambitious. I also want to try to nail down Halloween costumes. Maybe the Zoo?
I told H not to text the friends that he texts every weekend- they pretty much say no every weekend anyway. So that feels good that we can have a little break from him barraging people to get together with him. I say him because while I like friends, but I also like it to be lower key sometimes and make other kinds of plans.
Not really any set plans for the weekend. Dh is working. I've been emailing back and forth with a friend since we are one of the few left in town this week to make some plans to get together.
I need to spend Sunday with the kids in town gathering supplies for Halloween costumes. We are camping in a couple of weeks and it's Halloween themed with hayrides, ToT, et.. Ds is easy, he just wants a mask so he can legit get candy. Dd wants to be half angel, half devil, which is going to be a higher level of craftiness than is normal for me.
I'm getting a haircut tonight - first time since January. Then, dinner with my bestie. Tomorrow we're visiting a friend's new baby, and then heading to a field party (I feel like i'm in highschool). Assuming no rain, Sunday is family pictures. And then I think I'm going to get a pedi during naptime while H obsesses over football.
Plan A: My parents were going to babysit the kids all weekend, while DH and I deal with wedding stuff. Due to my mom's emergency surgery, it morphed into: Plan B: I stay home with my kids, my aunt watches them for a bit during the wedding so I can attend. DH deals with most wedding stuff solo. After talking to my dad today, this morphed into: Plan C: Kids and I are heading to my parents' house tonight, I'll spend the night there, hang out and visit with my mom and dad tomorrow, and then drive home tomorrow night to attend the wedding on Sunday with DH. Kids will stay with my parents, and my dad and sister will tag team the childcare while mom recovers at home. Monday we'll pick them up at some point.

Tomorrow DH is going to take the kids to breakfast and then to Costco while I get a facial and massage with my BFF to celebrate her birthday. In the evening I'm taking DD to the new My Little Pony movie while DS goes with DH to his bowling league. (DS actually really enjoys doing that - they have at least 2 different football games on, so he watches football while DH bowls.)
Sunday DH and DS are going to a pro football game (they go once a year), so they will be gone all day. I'm going to take DD to the American Girl store (it's about 2 hours away, so definitely a special trip) and some shopping for a special day for the two of us.
Random: I just had a feeling (I like to think of it as Holy Spirit-inspired) that I needed to check our main credit card's recently activity, and as soon as logged in, I got a notice about suspicious activity. So Citi deactivated the card immediately and put the suspicious charges into dispute. Thankfully we have a secondary credit card that we will be able to use this weekend while we wait for the new Citi cards to arrive.
twinmomma, that does sound exhausting! Hopefully Plan C is successful and doesn't turn out to be too stressful for you!
waverly, I would have also taken a vacation day if it were me! Sounds like you have some great ideas! Have you already gone to an apple orchard or pumpkin patch (if that's even a thing where you live)?

Our plans may include finding vacation destination number 2 due to the incoming hurricane. It's stressing me out from a financial standpoint since this condo is paid for.

I'm working the weekend, including OT tonight. I have Monday and Tuesday off and so far the only things planned are a deep clean of the fridge and a trip to Costco.
DD has cheerleading tomorrow. Tonight I’m the parent in charge of making Spirit Sticks. OMG. I’m a Cheer Mom. How did this happen??? She loves it though and is pretty darned good at it.
FFFC - rere - check out RHOD for inspiration with the angel/devil costume.
I'm going to box this afternoon (second time back post injury!!) if DD can handle the kids for 30 minutes (until DH gets home). The cast is the open question here...how annoyed will she be?
Dinner, football game tonight. Doing DD's service project before the game if she can do anything?? Going to try to give it away.
Soccer, vet, drop DD for a Retreat, soccer, gift shopping, friends over to watch college football.
Church, birthday party, DD handbells....
Then the kids are out M and T. My niece is taking them to a movie Monday and on Tuesday I am working a half day and we are going to the zoo. I'm stressed about this. And hoping a friend invites some of the kids to do something. DD gets home from her camp in the middle of a call with senior management. Because of course she does.
DD has a softball game tonight. Tomorrow, DH is having an afternoon to himself and I will probably take the kids to the local park for hay day. It is a free event with hay rides, games, and food trucks. On Sunday, we need to figure out what the kids will be for Halloween.
DD has ballet tomorrow, followed by a trip to the pumpkin patch, followed by having friends over. I'm exhausted already.
Sunday DD is having a friend from school over. It is unclear whether or not it will be a drop-off or if one or more parents plan on staying (I said they could do either, they were somewhat vague in the response.. my guess is just the kid though.)
Monday is glorious me day. DH works, both kids go to daycare, and I get to relish in one of the perks of working for a bank. Holidays like Columbus Day that aren't celebrated by all.

So many things.
Saturday, DD has gymnastics, followed by DS' soccer game. B/c of this hurricane and people dropping out, I'm the coach and figuring out a substitution rotation is freaking me out. DH is then going to his nerdy card game all night so I'll be alone with the kids. Which is the opposite of what I originally wanted to do, which was have a date night.
Sunday, I have my long run in the morning, and then we have a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese, which is fresh hell but the birthday boy is so sweet, we have to go.
Some how we need to go grocery shopping also...hmmm.
I am in an opera this weekend so that's pretty much taking up my whole weekend. This is a bucket list sort of thing for me so I'm pretty excited. I'm not musical or talented at all but have friends in the company and they needed a body double (that's me). My friends and family have been so great about it and are all coming to see me. It should be a fun weekend.
This weekend is all about recovering from last weekend - finish unpacking, laundry, clean the house, etc. But Sunday we plan to go to the pumpkin patch, then bake some fall sugar cookies. DS and I also need to hang the ghosts we made and put up some other Halloween decorations.
I'm researching patterns to carve the pumpkins this year - DS is old enough to have opinions and has requested "Charlie Brown in his costume to trick or treat", so.
2chatter your weekend is making me want to cry from dress
Today clean house and laundry since i'm off. Tonight I'm taking DD to open gym since practice behavior greatly improved this week thanks to the new point system.
Weekend is prepping the camper for our first camp trip of the year next weekend. We never got out over the summer so are trying to do a couple fall trips (I really don't like to camp...too much work and no downtime). DD may ride this weekend too.
jlaok , "perform in an opera" is a really weird bucket list item for someone who is not musical! Hope you have fun - break a leg!
I love music but can't sing at all. I really love musicals but my friends are in opera, so this will have to do. I've still gotten to do the whole costume/makeup/rehearsal things I've dreamed about.

+1 to the bolded part. We have trailer-camped for 5 years now. FFFC, I think I'm over camping. But we still owe money on our trailer, so...

DH comes back tonight so I'm excited about that. Between my work trip last week and his work trip this week I feel like we haven't had much family or couples time.
I have grand plans to put together lots of furniture and decorate the house - we shall see how that goes. And my BIL and his wife are coming up for the weekend - we've invited her sister's family over for dinner as well. I'm actually kind of looking forward to making a nice big meal. And of course, the wine drinking.
And the water company just called...There is a water main break on my street, so we won't have water until at least 8:30pm. Looks like we are going out to dinner before DD's softball game tonight.
No plans tonight. Is it just us or does everyone else go to bed earliest on Friday nights? We are all so tired after the long week! We were going to get pumpkins tomorrow but it's supposed to rain all day. Need to carve a pumpkin this weekend for the school's pumpkin walk night next week. The new My Little Pony might be a nice option for a rainy day. Also need to check the rest of the items off the baby list like installing the car seat, finding pump parts, etc. It's getting real!
sudokufan, I can't even with those pumpkins. You're a rock star.
I slept for about 2 hours this afternoon. An actual flipping nap! A good one too.
Tomorrow I have to applique some of DD's school shirts. I'm also going to embroider some more of her socks because she loves those. So yay! I get to sew.
I'm also waiting for comments on a document that has to be filed tomorrow. So I also have to work for a while. Blech.
