Celebration: It's my Friday and I have the next 2 days off.
Vent: It was a shitty weekend. I was supposed to have mandatory OT on Saturday, so H got a babysitter so he could help his friend out. My OT was cancelled at the very last second. I text him asking if he had paid the babysitter and no response. I go home, not sure if he had just told her it was until I got home or if I could go do something on my own. By the time I had changed my clothes, the babysitter had texted her mom to come and get her. So I guess I was on my own with DS. And she said she had already been paid, which turned out to be $60 for 1.5 hours. H didn't get home until after I went to bed, so we couldn't talk about it.
I mention to DH yesterday that I have OT today, and all hell broke loose. Apparently I'm selfish and don't tell him when I have OT. Not sure why he thinks I'm selfish and I do tell him that I have OT, but he either doesn't listen or can't remember. He also thinks he does everything around the house and pays for everything. I reminded him that I paid our giant tax bill this year, our trip to Hawaii, and our new appliances all at the same time which was about $18,000, so that is where my OT money goes and it's not like I'm spending on frivolous items. He has way more frivolous spending than I do. He pays most of our bills, but I give him most of my pay checks.
We came to some agreements and both decided that communication is our biggest issue right now. But I'm still pissed and don't think this issue is over.

Vent: My baby will not sleep unless I am holding her, so I think some sleep training is in our future for this week. I hate that I have to do this with her, but sleeping in recliner is not working for me.
Celebration: Drill weekend was not as taxing as it has been in the past. DH had almost finished all of the laundry when I got home yesterday. I have one more student loan payment due next month. So close.
Vent: None at the moment I am sure they will come.

Co-sleeping in bed saved me when DS wasn't sleeping or was waking up in the middle of the night. I know it's not for everyone and might not be safe, but it worked for us.

Vent: I am gone next Saturday, and DH is going to help his grandpa move. DH was planning to just bring the kids with him, because they are of the age where they don't "get in the way." Well, DH's grandpa thought they were going to get in the way, so he took it upon himself to tell (yes, tell, not ask), DH's mom to watch the kids Saturday morning while DH helps with the move. I don't trust MIL and I don't want her watching the kids, when they could just as easily go with DH. I do not like that DH's grandpa made a decision that impacts my kids without asking me or DH. And DH doesn't want to battle it out with his grandpa over this.
Celebration: I got to read a book for over 2 hours Sunday afternoon. It was glorious. Also, the water leak was fixed by the plumber (slow drip from the water line into the fridge) and Serv Pro got all the bad drywall removed, the area treated against mold, and it's all dry now.
We went to visit my aunt on Saturday and she has a type of cancer that has a good survivability rate and does not (supposedly) metastasize. Also good news is that it turns out she and her twin brother are friends with the Chief Medical Officer's dad at the health system where she's being treated, so it's always good to have the ear of the CMO, if you need it.
Vent: DD (2) was running on the way to church from the car yesterday and face planted on the sidewalk. She was running with her chewy camelback water bottle in her mouth, so her face is mostly fine. Although she has a busted top and bottom lip and a big cut in her mouth. We almost made it to church. I sent DS and DH in while I took her home, cleaned her up, and we to urgent care to make sure that she didn't need stitches. Poor little thing is also potty training and peed on me because she was crying so hard while I tried to calm her down.
Celebration: We went pumpkin picking later yesterday because DD was cleared for whatever and the kids were bouncing off the walls, it was fun, DS picked out a 35 pound monster pumpkin, while DD picked out a 3 pound pumpkin that she carried herself.
Vent: My baby will not sleep unless I am holding her, so I think some sleep training is in our future for this week. I hate that I have to do this with her, but sleeping in recliner is not working for me.

Its not safe for us. DH is a wild sleeper/dreamer. Just last week he grabbed me like I was getting ready to fall off a cliff or something lol.
Vent: Have I ever mentioned DS's freakishly large head? It's big. And it's not growing on any of the growth curves. He's getting progressively further away from the normal growth curves with every visit. He had an ultrasound as a baby that was clear, but apparently, his pediatrician was discussing it with DD's neurosurgeon and they want us to bring him in for an MRI.
I feel like we're dealing with way more medical crap than most families do.
phdmomma, my two year old DD was so excited to pick out a small pumpkin too!
k3am, that's because you are. I'm sorry. I hope they're just being cautious and don't find anything in the MRI. Do they put him under anesthesia for an MRI since he's so young?
Vent/Celebration - I didn't go into labor yet and I haven't killed anyone with my mood swings yet.

k3am, I am so sorry that the medical crap is never ending for you. I hope the MRI and appointments go as smooth as possible and are totally uneventful.
k3am, my DS1 has a huge head too. It has surpassed the 99th percentile and has been that way since birth (he's now 3). Pediatrician ordered and ultrasound when he was 2 months old just to make sure there was nothing else going on (there wasn't). It turns out that there are just big heads in my family. True story - my brother has a big head (like, in the 95th percentile). He is a cop and since he has a big head, he has been recruited for police helmet studies.
I hope the MRI is just a precaution and the pediatrician is being thorough.
mellym, he'll just have a rapid MRI, so no sedation. Google tells me it's most frequently used for checking hydrocephalus, which is also what the ultrasound when he was a baby was to check for.
polecat8, he's been above 99% since birth, but now the distance between him and the line is getting larger.
I think I'm just very surprised because the call that they want to run the MRI isn't at all in relation to any recent appointments. We last saw the pedi when he was 15 months, and we see him next month for our 18 month appointment.
k3am, you have way too much medical crap being thrown at you. I hope the MRI comes back with nothing and the doctors are just being crazy paranoid.
Vent: Tax extensions deadline is today. Someone dropped of their stuff over the weekend and we are now racing to get it all done and have had 3 phone calls from them already today. People you procrastinate you pay the price. We don't work 24/7 in October.
Vent: I have a headache and want lunch. A client told us he would take us out to lunch today so we are waiting for said client to show up. If he isn't here by 1 I'm running to get fast food.
186momx, I feel like you guys should be allowed to charge more for rush work. Is this a thing?
I also feel like that would shoot me in the foot, since we CAN'T do our taxes until the beginning of April, since one of our forms doesn't get mailed out until 3/31. But I can definitely see what a PITA the late folks/procrastinators can be.
k3am, We get the forms that come late during the main filing season. The one who dropped off over the weekend has W2s, Mortgage Interest, and student loans, and a daughter in college. So nothing major but no reason to wait until deadline day either. Now the clients are trying to rearrange their day to get to us today as they owe and are cranky about owing. I'm just frustrated and annoyed. I wish we could charge for last minute extra work and we do if we have to work the weekend but this one we are doing during normal working hours.
186momx - there's a special place in hell for people who promise food and then fail to deliver - I hope they showed up!
Celebration: I have a couple of interesting things at work (sadly this has become rare). DH is done with prednisone and is normal/nice again. DS and DH are camping this weekend and DD's will go to their Dad Saturday night so I am allll over a GNO!!!
2chatter, he was a no show. My dad is running to Burger King for burgers and making a deposit at the bank. Thing is I was looking forward to the really good pub burger and fries from the place he was taking us.
Good new is client that dropped off over the weekend is on their way to come pick up and pay meaning I will get to leave work on time today.
Oh hey major FWP on a Monday. I'm in Punta Cana and the resort isn't nice enough for my boss' standards. So now my coworker and I are scrambling to see if we can find other resorts to visit in the next 2 days since I'm back at square one. Ugh.

Spent the whole day in a meeting room, now back on a plane. I'm so tired.
And k3am - I'm sorry you are dealing with yet another medical issue. Fwiw - DS had an off the charts head as a baby and young toddler. At 2 years old, DS was 1.7% in height, 15% in weight, and 99.8% in head size. It was so noticeable that random strangers would comment on it. Due to this and other random issues (seizures, blood issues), multiple tests were run but nothing conclusive ever came back. His body has finally caught up a bit so now he is 15ish in height and weight and only 80ish in head size, so there's that.
