The photos are traditionally hung in government buildings across the country and in U.S. embassies world-wide. The release comes more than nine months after the pair was sworn-in, during which time the spaces were occupied by empty picture frames.
Trump sat for his official portrait in January, according to the White House schedule. The White House is not explaining the delay in release.

that portrait is terrible...it looks like an amateur snap shot & it poorly lit- it is under exposed Pence's photo looks like the quality/style I would expect
ETA: just compare the white part of their collars, the bokeah/blurines of the flag + wrinkles, the way Pence has catch lights in his eyes, how there is nothing distracting in the background behind pence & the flag is further behind him
I think my favorite part of this whole thing is that if Trump does try to fire Mueller, it will obvious be obstruction of justice. I mean, Comey was pretty obvious, but firing Mueller at this point is like bright shining blinking light saying OBSTRUCTION OF JUSTICE.
"The biggest story yesterday, the one that has the Dems in a dither, is Podesta running from his firm."
The Podesta stuff is KILLING me. It's cute how they seem to think we will give them Trump back and agree to firing Mueller as long as they keep their paws off the unknown lobbyist brother of a 900 year old campaign manager.

DID we talk at all about Hannity saying President Clinton yesterday? Best Freudian slip ever. Literally everyone knows there will forever be an asterisk next to Trumps name in history books.

I truly think I’ve taken better photos with my phone!! I mean... it’s an iPhone, but still 😜
He's thinking about how all this is cutting into his TV and pooping time.
It's also so weird that you never see him wearing anything except a suit or a golfing outfit. (Except that bathrobe that one time, *shudder*.) Last year the Obamas were in casual clothes doing this. And you'd think that, for someone who wears suits ALL THE TIME, he'd have better tailoring.
There's just nothing normal or redeeming about this guy.

Pence clearly took his picture in the normal portrait setup at a government facility. Trump is standing in the Oval Office - you can tell by the wallpaper and frame. Someone may have taken it with an iPhone. Maybe it’s his iPhone after they snatched it mid-tweet?
Curious that a man with that ego wouldn’t want a nice portrait.
I think he's going to fire someone soon. He's feeling powerless, he can't control the news right now, his tweets aren't even enough to distract people, and he's just figured out that Mueller means business.
So when all that happens it seems like he fires someone. It makes him feel in control and powerful.
Sessions maybe? Tillerson? I'm not saying it will be someone related to the indictments. I just think he's going to be in a bad mood and firing people makes him happy .
