Hey ladies! Hope you had a nice weekend!
Things are going well here...G's diaper rash is clearing up, but we're moving into Leap 4, so that sucks. So far, we're not seeing signs of sleep regression, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. We'll see.
I am so excited for Thanksgiving this year!! Anyone have special plans?? What are you all making for food?
Today is H’s first day back at work (but working from home). My dad is coming over in an hour or so to help me with the girls. I hope to run some errands and get us all out of the house.
The girls seemed to know there is a change coming, as we had our worst night yet. C cried and was fussy from 12-3:30, then we had a normal feed and J cried and was fussy from 5-6. Yawn.
Thanksgiving is in early October in Canada but I am doing a friends Christmas dinner so excited to prep for that.
The hospital had me come back for a proper ultrasound yesterday morning since the emergency room doctor did the one on Saturday and he couldn't really do much except check for a heartbeat. Baby was bouncing around yesterday, waving his arms, kicking his legs. Heart rate was normal and no source of bleed on the inside so the bleeding all was from my irritated cervix. The spotting has stopped which is also a relief.
I pumped 1.5 oz this morning! haha I know it's not much but I am celebrating because last week I only got 0.5 oz every pump. I think 3 days of putting the baby on my boob at every opportunity is helping. Of course, I will have to travel again soon, maybe thursday. I hope it's not too long this time.
We are planning to go to my ILs for thanksgiving this year. I think it will only be us coming over so I'm not sure if they are even going to want to host. I wouldn't be surprised if they suggest we all go to my BIL's ILs, which is fine except they don't eat til 8 or 9 pm. Too late for me! Last year they told me I am in charge of gravy from now on, so I guess I'll be doing that. Gravy is from this recipe: www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/roast-turkey-and-gravy-with-onions-and-sage-3363267 You can make the gravy base a few days ahead and then do that last steps after the turkey comes out of the oven. it's super tasty and a lot easier since it's not all done in real time.
S is 16 weeks I think. His official 4 months is next Saturday. It is crazy how quick time is flying. I am sometimes still in awe that after all the years of heartache and trying and working for this, he is finally here, and he is healthy and happy. I am tired all the time because he still wakes up essentially twice a night--once sometime between 12-2 am for 30 minutes to eat, and once between 4-6 am for 30 minutes to eat. I am really not sure how to wean him off one or both of those feedings--any suggestions?

shauni27, namely fussiness. His naps have become more infrequent, so I’m not sure if that’s sleep regression or not. I’m worried most about the sleep part, since he’s doing really well on that end, and I don’t want to go back. He wants to be held a lot more than normal.
Hi ladies! I've been feeling some movement and have been loving it. It's still just little taps, but I definitely know it's him now. We leave Hawaii tomorrow. We've had a nice trip, but I'm ready to be back home. I miss my pups. Thanksgiving will be at the in-laws. I'm just really hoping that DH doesn't insist we stay the night (they're a 2.5 hour drive away). With all of the traveling we've been doing over the last few months, we've spent a lot of money on boarding our dogs. I'm afraid to bring it up because it always turns into an argument.

shauni27, I don't think babies are ready to remove any night feedings until somewhere between 6-8 months, but your pedi should be able to give you a better answer. Right now, if they're waking to eat, it's because they're hungry. I agree with @daylily, try to have DH take over one of the feedings to help with sleep.
oneslybookworm, @daylily thank you for that reminder. I just keep comparing Sage to all other babies and I know a number of them sleep through the night. He does seem really hungry when he wakes up and wolfs down 6 or so ounces each time.
G does do one of the feedings each night. We break them up But as a total side note now--what is with men?! G complains about how tired he is and goes in late to work almost two or three times a week now because he is just "too exhausted" from getting 8 or so hours of broken up sleep. Dude. Don't EVEN. I still get only about 7 during a week night (which I know is pretty good!) and yet the majority of child rearing falls on me. So bugger off, lol. *G is a wonderful father and really is extremely hands on. We have been talking about the mental load aspect of parenting and how that fully falls on me right now and needs to switch, and he is 100% supportive and doing his best to assist with taking over more. But man, he sucks with the interrupted sleep shit.

Happy Monday (haha!)! E had an appt with a nutritionist today. It went well, she's really happy with her growth. She's actually on the chart for an 8 month old, which is cool (~30th percentile!). Her length is also catching up nicely, which tends to lag in preemies.
We're going to my sister's house for Thanksgiving. I'm not really looking forward to it because it's a small house, with a lot of people and two dogs, so we can't really put E down on the floor where she prefers. So she will get overtired and overstimulated. I need to ask my sister if we can have dinner a little earlier than normal so E will be happy while we eat. I also worry so much about her getting sick. She's not exposed to other people very often, and there will be a bunch of young cousins and teachers there. Christmas will be at home because I'm not comfortable taking E on an airplane yet (again because of germs).
Terrible 2 tantrums are in full swing. Pass the wine...
We are going to Paris for Thanksgiving. We were supposed to go a few months ago but had to cancel our trip last minute. This was the next 4 day weekend on the calendar, so we replanned for next week. Yippee!
shauni27 we are up twice a night too and it's exhausting. It used to be 5 hours, 2.5 hours, 1 hour which was ok but lately it's 3,3,3 which is tiring.
@daylily I'm sorry about family stufd. We are having that issue too. H doesn't really want to go to my family's for the holidays but if we don't we will be home alone which is depressing. I'm going and taking j whether or not he goes with us.
Thanksgiving is always stressful. It's my favorite food holiday but dh and I fight every year around turkey day. No clue why. The. Christmas is usually fine. I'm tired of it and i want j to have a great first holiday even if he won't remember it.
My 12 month old is still up 2x a night so I hear y'all on the sleep deprivation. And I get ragey when DH complains about being tired (I'm still nursing, so I do all wake ups). I can count on one hand (with fingers to spare) how many times I've slept through the night in the last year, so STFU!
My baby is ONE! I can't believe it. He was just getting over a week of sickness and was super overwhelmed and fussy at his party Saturday. I'm kind of depressed about it actually. All the thought and time and planning and I spent most of the party in his room alone singing to him while everyone else celebrated. I know in the grand scheme of things it's NBD, but I can't help but feel a little cheated.

scm1011, happy birthday to your boy! I'm sorry he was sick for his party - I'd be bummed too.
I'm with you guys on the sleep deprivation. Over the weekend E stopped waking to eat, but she still needs help with her pacifier, like 3-4 times a night.

I am passing you a bottle, and I will also be joining you. It was a long weekend here, in every sense.
I'm bleeding I'm 5 weeks 5 days. This happened in my first pregnancy and everything turned out ok but right now I'm freaking out. Tomorrow can't come soon enough.

A continued to have great overnights until she hit 6 months. Naps sucked for a while, but overnights were great! Then right on 6 month bday, she had two nights with wake-ups, then back to STTN again til this past weekend. I feel like a brand new mom with a newborn all over again. Teething sucks! (or leap 6. or the combination. IDK)

((( shoeless))) scm1011, I’m sad to hear he was sick for his birthday! Maybe an immediate family do-over? Yay for E getting on the charts thoseareradishes!
We’re flying out of state for Thanksgiving to see MIL. I’m ok with visiting her and will get to see my BFF who lives nearby, but sorta dreading 4 nights with MIL. That’s a long time with this woman!
scm1011 - Happy first birthday to C, I cant believe he is already a year old. I am sorry his birthday party didn't go as you had envisioned. I would definitely feel cheated as well.
Thanks everyone, blood work from yesterday was 32,240 (26 DPO). I've been consistently high on all blood drawls (same for the first pregnancy) but nurse mentioned that it could be multiples and they are known to cause bleeding. (Holy shit, we only transferred one).
My choice is an ultrasound this week (6 weeks) where the heart may or may not be beating yet or next week (7 weeks) where I am more likely to see heartbeats. Which would you choose in my shoes?
How far would you be if you had the u/s at 6 weeks? Exactly 6 weeks? Would they do another u/s the following week if they didn't see a heartbeat at the 6 week u/s?
I would probably opt for the 6 week, honestly, knowing that a heartbeat may or may not be visible. I think my first u/s was at 5w6d (no heartbeat yet) and my second u/s at 6w5d was when we saw the heartbeat.
shoeless - Will they not let you do another one at 7 weeks if you do one at 6 weeks and there is no heartbeat? We were able to see a heartbeat at 5w6d but I know that is typically earlier than usual. I have no patience and I would want to do the ultrasound as soon as possible.
