@daylily - That is a ridiculous policy! Wow. My RE had me come in weekly until 10 weeks for an ultrasound, and at that point the OB took over. One week they let me come in for two ultrasounds as I was having a lot of anxiety. That is crazy that they only give you one ultrasound after your BFP.

shoeless, sooo stressful! I am sorry you're going through this. I would probably opt to go in this week. I have my first u/s Thursday and I will be 6w3d and I am praying that I see a heartbeat. I did not realize that typically REs don't let you go in for another one. I hope when they release me to my obgyn that she can get me in quickly. If I remember correctly from my other pregnancies (m/cs) that they typically do u/s around 8 weeks.
Thanks all, I think I am going to go in this week since I am still spotting and I need to peace of mind that everything is ok. I'll try and hold off till Friday 6w 2d and hope we see a heart beat.
@daylily I am an out of town patient for this clinic (I liked their donor egg program) so that's why it wasn't a 'come right in' conversation, it wasn't an option. That being said, last time I got ultrasounds at 5w+ (bleeding), 7 weeks (heartbeat), and 9 weeks before they released me to my OB. So I'm a little surprise by the new restrictions.

shoeless, I’m glad you’re able to go in. At 6w2d you might be able to see it. And, you should at least be able to see if there’s an SCH that’s causing the bleeding. I bled in the early days too and it is so nerve-racking. Hang in there, put your feet up, drink lots of water, and think positive thoughts.

So, my H and I TTC our first for 3 years and had so many IF issues (endo, blocked tubes, low ovarian reserve, uterine polyps, etc lol). We ended up doing IVF and I had my son, he's 2.5. Luckily, we had frozen embryos so we've been talking about transferring one in January for kid #2. I got my IUD out in Sept just because I knew we were planning for the FET and I didn't like some of the IUD side effects.
Annnyways, yesterday I realized my period was late so I took a test and I'm pregnant! I've never been more surprised in my life. An immediate super dark line. I mean, I knew it was possible but really unlikely. So now we're in shock. Happy but shocked, lol.
Terrible 2 tantrums are in full swing. Pass the wine...
We are going to Paris for Thanksgiving. We were supposed to go a few months ago but had to cancel our trip last minute. This was the next 4 day weekend on the calendar, so we replanned for next week. Yippee!
I am passing you a bottle, and I will also be joining you. It was a long weekend here, in every sense.
I'm telling you, this is a tough age. I'm counting down the days until we go visit family for 3 weeks soon. 2 year olds are the epitome of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Lol
I finally tested yesterday at 17dpiui and got a BFP. I had a feeling this IUI worked, so I wasn't super surprised, but I can't believe that we're going to have another kid. My due date is the day before DS's due date was.
shoeless, I am glad you have an ultrasound scheduled for today. I would continue to think positive due to your great beta numbers and take the rest of this week really easy. Please keep us posted; we are all thinking of you!
So I went to the ER last night for more bleeding. Good news: They found a heart beat!! Bad news, they also found a large subchorionic hematoma. Its a waiting game at this point but the paperwork did say threaten miscarriage, so that's not fun to read.

I am so glad you saw a heartbeat! I did some quick reading and it sounds like this is very common and most cases of an SH regress early in the first trimester and have a better prognoses.
shoeless, that's great that you've seen a heartbeat! I'm sorry about the SCH. and fwiw, I imagine the nurse gave you information on "threatened miscarriage" because it is likely the closest thing their computer system has as far as education paperwork. I work OB ED (obstetric emergency department) where we see cases like yours, and that is usually the case for me. I just pick the paperwork that is closest to what the actual diagnosis is. So I wouldn't read too much into it. I know that's hard.
So happy you were able to see a heartbeat, shoeless! I know it's more common to have bleeding when you do FETs, so hopefully it turns out to be nothing. My RE even warned me about it. I know that there have been plenty of people on these boards that have had bleeding and SCHs that go on to have healthy babies.

Aw shoeless sorry they have you worried with the terminology but I'm glad there was a heartbeat. I hope your little nugget continues to grow and stay healthy.

YAY for a heartbeat shoeless! I had a SCH and it was a pain because it bled on and off for a few weeks, but ultimately it caused no harm. FX it clears up quickly for you.
shoeless, that's such a relief to hear there was a heartbeat. Anecdotally, I've never heard of a SCH causing problems. I hope the bleeding stops soon and you can relax (as much as possible).
Question. We are driving 2 hours each way foe thankagiving. I figure j will sleep most of it. However, when you travel and they sleep all that time in the car does it totally mess up naps and bedtime or have you found they still sleep ok?

Congratulations on the heartbeat shoeless! I didn’t that that SCH were typically a threat to the viability of the pregnancy, so hopefully Pooh is right that it’s just a (super crappy) coding thing.

I agree. A has this maniacal laugh that's part cackle, part Woody the Woodpecker. Her delight in mischief is palpable. It's frustrating because I want to laugh with her so badly, but when she's swan diving off the couch I have to be the mean one who stops her. Tantrum ensues, cue standing in the corner (it doesn't really work as a punishment but at least it's a distraction). I don't know... wine. Wine will solve everything.
