I'm telling you, this is a tough age. I'm counting down the days until we go visit family for 3 weeks soon. 2 year olds are the epitome of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Lol
I agree. A has this maniacal laugh that's part cackle, part Woody the Woodpecker. Her delight in mischief is palpable. It's frustrating because I want to laugh with her so badly, but when she's swan diving off the couch I have to be the mean one who stops her. Tantrum ensues, cue standing in the corner (it doesn't really work as a punishment but at least it's a distraction). I don't know... wine. Wine will solve everything.
Omg yes to everything you just wrote. Z gets this looks when I say "no please don't do..." and legit does the exact thing I said not too. Or he'll just ignore me, so when I sit him in time out he'll wail like he has no idea why I put him there. I don't know how much he understands time out yet, but I use it anyways. Otherwise he just tra-la-la goes back to playing.
FTM/Newb question. How did movement feel for the first time? I am almost 16 weeks but he's measuring closer to 17. Last night I kept waking up to this weird butterfly/anxious feeling in my stomach. It was SO weird. Google says that's how movement feels for the first time but it feels a bit early for that.

Yea, that sounds about right. It felt like gas to me, but the gas wouldn't go away.

I felt flutters that felt similar to gas bubbles around 17 weeks. But I wasn't sure. By 18 weeks, it was very clear it was baby and not gas.

I bet that is movement! To me, the first feelings I had were similar to @daylily. It felt like a nerve twitching or a tiny popcorn kernel popping. I started feeling them occasionally around 18 weeks and by 22 weeks I was feeling obvious movements. Feeling your baby move is truly one of the best feelings in the world, and I really miss it (especially knowing we won't ever get pregnant again). Enjoy and congratulations!

shauni27, after I birthed E, I told H I really missed feeling her kick. Like, everything was bad enough, and I had this extra sadness on top of it because even though she was here I missed her, if that makes sense.

Yes, I miss that sooooo much.
Me too. Actually I really liked being pregnant, and I was sad when it was over.

Wine definitely helps on the rough days.
H does this too, especially right before bedtime. She'll hit us, and we'll say no, and then she'll just laugh. There's just absolutely no remorse. It's so irritating.

I hated the incredible back pain that really crippled me, and the anxiety of the first 20 weeks and last 5, but in general, I loved it. I really only want one child, but am so sad that I will never be pregnant again.

I've always thought that early movement felt like an eye twitch? Like that feeling of an involuntary muscle movement, except in your belly.
Definitely sounds like movement to me. 16/17 weeks is on the early side for a FTM but that's because most usually assume its gas or something else. I felt this pregnancy around that time.
This is how it always felt for me in the early days. With V I felt her around 16 weeks, and with A I swear I felt her around 13 weeks. But I also have a super short torso, so babies never had much room. Later on, it felt like an alien creature, and by the time I was 36 weeks with A, she would scratch my cervix, which was not fun.
I think I would have liked being pregnant if I didn't have to be pregnant so many times to get one living child. Or if I hadn't had HG. Ha, if I had the money for a nanny and a night nurse, and found a willing surrogate (in Canada, you can't pay surrogates) I might actually have another. Alas, I didn't win the lottery last week...
pandora89 I probably started feeling baby move at the end of 16 weeks. But I wasn't sure it was him at the time. At 18 weeks I was sure it was him. To me it feels like gas bubbles or like a bubble popping, or even like @daylily said, like an eye twitch.

A will hit me, then get this sly look on her face and immediately say "mama hug", and try to hug me. FML my kid is a sociopath.

Sounds like baby movement to me! I felt DD prior to 16 weeks so it's certainly possible to feel them earlier and it felt like popping bubbles.
I'm so sad. My brother and sil lost a baby at 6 weeks and were die the same week j was due so it's been hard foe them. Last night they just found out they lost another baby, this time at 11 weeks. I am devastated for them and don't know what I can do for them. Any ideas?

King26, My sister has had two m/c’s recently, too. I didn’t know what to do, but just called her to talk when I knew she had doctor appointments. And offer any of my IF advice when she wanted it. It’s so hard because we know the pain. Hugs to you and them!
I need diaper advice and am embarrassed to ask. C has been having daily blowouts for the last few weeks. At first, I thought it was because he was outgrowing them, so we sized up. Then, he was sick so we waited it out. But now, he’s all better and in size 4 and still having blowouts. TMI, but it’s usually up his back. He’s in Huggies Snug and Dry right now, cheapest on Amazon S&S and it’s never seemed to matter before. Is there a better brand we should be trying? We’re going out of state for Thanksgiving and I don’t know what we’ll do with all this poopy laundry!

When C was much younger he started having blowouts when he was in Pampers. We switched to Huggies Little Snugglers and there’s a little pocket in the back of them right at the waistband. It might help stop the poop from going up his back. I would just buy a small package before getting a big box of them just in case they don’t work for you.
Chrysanthemum, try Target Up&Up? Or Honest? They also have the gathers in the back. Sometimes just a different brand works.
Also, sometimes it's positioning. E was more likely to have blowouts when he was sitting while pooping, because of the pressure. If he was laying down, not so many blowouts.
Finally, there are just some kids who have a lot of blowouts until they start eating more solids and the poop firms up. That was my son.
