Kitchen cabinets are scheduled to be delivered today. Tonight, we clean out the cupboards and pack up the kitchen. Tomorrow, H starts demoing and we pray he doesn't find anything disastrous underneath the existing cabinetry or flooring. The rest of the week, I'm sure, will be devoted to that process.
I work M-Th, then I'm on vacation until 1/2. H works today, then he's off until 12/26.
Thursday - Dinner with FIL and SMIL to celebrate their wedding anniversary. Saturday - My extended family Christmas party is in the evening. Undecided on if we're going to go. I have a lot of pregnant cousins right now and I'm not sure I have the emotional energy to deal with that right now. Also Saturday - My mom is talking about coming over to hang out, see the dogs, and maybe help with the kitchen (depending on where we are by then).
We're waiting to hear back from MIL and SIL about what day they're doing their Christmas stuff, so we're unsure if that's going to happen this week or next week.
Taking A in for a weight check today and appointment tomorrow for help with BFing.
Pretty much just need to wrap gifts and such. Christmas with H's family Sunday. I'm feeling pretty down right now so hopefully things will improve by then.
My MIL sent me a FB message this weekend, saying that she and SIL can't afford to buy presents this year so they're going to re-gift stuff they have and don't want anymore. Uhm... No thanks, MIL. In the ten years we've been together, we've never received a gift of any kind from her so it's not like we were expecting her to get us anything, and we definitely don't need more random crap in our house.
This is the exact text I sent H after I read her message: "She is not allowed to regift ANYTHING to us. If she tries, we'll just hide it somewhere else in her house before we leave."
ewall - What kind of phone did you get? I feel that way a lot when I'm forced to upgrade things I already like. The new stuff is always supposed to be better, but ends up making everything more difficult instead!

I went from an iPhone 6 to a Galaxy S8. I've had Android in the past so I know I can do this, I just don't wanna

((Hugs)) estrellita and suzv. Hope this week goes ok for both you ladies!
Crazy busy week here but I am so excit s to celebrate C’s bday and Christmas!
So far today I have grocery shopped, bagels and coffee, started laundry, and made some pouches. L is napping then we will walk to Panera Bread and Trader Joe’s. Need to make dinner tonight, work on DH’s stocking “coupons” and Christmas card, and dust the house.
Tomorrow is breakfast with mickey!! C is going to be so stoked!!
Wednesday- I want to take pictures of C and get the last of my things done so we can enjoy DH’s time off. Oh, and I need to bake cupcakes.
DH is off Thurs-next tues
C’s bday on thurs! Going to the zoo and out to dinner.
Friday- chores and dentist appointment
Sat- C’s bday party
Sunday- going to my parents Christmas Eve for dinner.
I might break this week...so excited for all that’s going on but totally overwhelmed! And I got a ton accomplished this weekend but my list just keeps growing or staying the same.
ETA: I need to bake and decorate 2 things of brownies for gingerbread brownies and make a batch of cookies Sunday morning before going to my Dad’s.
Last minute Christmas shopping this morning. I'm pretty sure we're done. I also bought myself a Christmas present--new Frye riding boots. I've had my eye on them for years, and they're a good price, and my knockoffs are showing cracks in the pleather.
So wrapping presents and audiologist appointment today.
SIL's birthday dinner tomorrow, and on call tomorrow night. Probably going to pack tomorrow too.
Work W,Th, F nights. Night shift work Christmas party Th afternoon (before the shift).
Leave Sat am to drive to see my family, return Mon.
I still have to wrap all the Christmas presents and get one more thing for DS1. I've definitely been slackinh on the holiday stuff this year.
I actually got some sleep last night, so I feel like I can function today. I don't want to wish away time, but I'm looking forward to DS2 being on some sort of schedule.
I can't believe Christmas is next week, this year has flown.

Off work today. Play date/mommy date Wednesday Christmas party with my staff Thursday night Dinner with BIL and SIL on Saturday Christmas with H’s family Sunday I was not in the Christmas spirit at all this year and not even after having my family’s Christmas this weekend did I get in the spirit. Maybe next year.
I made a double batch of sugar cookies last night. Froze some and need to decorate some today to get a plate of treats ready to send with him to work in the morning. I made some chocolate covered pretzels this morning and might just call it good at those two things. I didn't even think about making a tray of goodies until he asked me about it last night.
I've been super productive today. I've been super anxious and I'm just trying to use that energy towards getting things off my list - hoping that will help relieve the anxiety.
W - Kid Christmas party at the library with Santa.
Sun - Christmas at the ILs.
Still have to wrap presents. Not sure if I'm done shopping. Eh, I'll get it all done.
Busy but mostly fun week here. H's grandmother passed away (expected, she was 90 and not doing well) so we will be attending a funeral at some point, but in a way we are relieved. She was in so much pain for so long. It was awful to see her suffer
Otherwise, haircut today. A bar crawl downtown with friends tomorrow. Two Christmas parties Wednesday. Pending no funeral, a museum family day Thursday. Most likely funeral Friday. Then our family Christmas Saturday. I think I'm more excited than the kids!
ewall I have an S7 and still have trouble figuring out my mom and friends' S8's. They changed just enough to confuse me. But the camera is amazing. Seriously, the pictures my sister was able to capture compared to mine with all the same settings were very impressive.
katespade Fun week for you too. What the hell, SIL? If you re-gift, you don't TELL THEM. lolol.

Thanks amaranth! She gained 3oz. I haven't gotten a call from the doctor yet so I'm hoping she didn't want to see more of a gain. I'm just happy it went up instead of down! Also, sorry about your H's grandma

Right??? I'm honestly worried that we're going to show up to their house and MIL will ask us to walk around and start grabbing things or something. Or she'll have a pile of miscellaneous nicknacks waiting for us to choose from. And I have no idea why she suddenly feels like she needs to pretend to give us gifts. I feel like I would be less confused if we had ever even once exchanged gifts with anyone involved, and it could be assumed that we expected something... lol.
amaranth - I'm sorry about your H's grandma. Even when it's expected, it's still painful. Take care of yourselves. <3
bk1 - I made sugar cookies yesterday, too! Too bad I burned them. lol. I hope yours turned out better than mine!
tacocat - I've been thinking the same thing about this year! I can't believe we're two weeks away from New Years. I don't know where the time has gone.

@@@ related: Had an appt this morning and everything still looking good. CVS in 2 weeks.
I have a few final Christmas gifts/stocking stuffers to pick up and hopefully I'll be able to do most of that tomorrow. I really need to start wrapping!
The week itself will be fairly normal, I am hoping to relax a little bit this weekend and do something fun with DH and DS. I feel like I haven't been enjoying the holidays, I know a big part of that is that I've been sick but I'm hoping to be able to just focus on family this weekend. I am making pierogies ahead of time for Christmas dinner and we'll go to church on Christmas Eve.
amaranth I've made the same soft frosted sugar cookie every year. This year I tried a recipe going around ML that's suppose to be the best ever. Didn't disappoint! Really yummy cookies.

I love my S8. Love it. You'll learn to love it too.
bk1- love the sugar cookies!! I really want to make some but I think between the cupcakes on thurs, cake on Sat, and brownies and cookies (M&Ms chocolate chip for my dad) we will be all sugared out!
HoneySpider- hope you can enjoy time with family this weekend! Glad things with you and baby are going well!

So, what would your reaction be to this. You all know I am not too fond of ILs (they are nice people but they are also odd and so much dysfunction that they kind of drive me nuts).
Anyways, they had to put their dog down a couple weeks ago (apparently kidney failure, which was likely caught late because they hate to spend money and probably didn’t want to take it to the vet). MIL is really sad so FIL took her to get a rescue just this past week. All of this is fine but they know they are planning to see us this weekend for C’s bday and again Christmas Day and they know we weren’t thrilled about having their other dog at our house (and only agreed with making it clear the dog will be outside).
If it were me I would have just waited to get another dog but maybe I am the weird one!?! DH was not thrilled when I told him the news...he was a little relieved their other dog wouldn’t be here when they visited.
Oh, and apparently they like to use “human” names for their dogs. This one is being called Joe while the last one was LD, which is DH’s initials 😂

luv2rn4fun It would have been nice if they could have waited but maybe they wanted that particular dog? I know when I got my cats, they only allowed me to put them on hold for a couple days (and I had to pay extra) and I had to keep them at ILs for a week or so because I hadn't moved into my apartment yet. Maybe it was a situation like that? Also, I totally like people names for animals too, I named Asher and H named Midnight I don't know why but I find it more interesting than word names, lol.
luv2rn4fun honestly, they probably weren't really thinking and got caught up in the moment. But happy birthday to C!!!
katespade make sure you guys inspect all the cabinets for damage and correct size because they won't take them back once you've attempted install. Good luck! Can't wait to see pics!
rockinrobyn I'm rarely an OMG Xmas!!! person myself so lack of holiday spirit is totally cool in my book

Definitely! I also made sure to ask what the process was if I did find any damaged/incorrect/missing items when we un-box everything. I really hope we don't end up having to wait for replacements for anything!

The good news is they usually expedite replacements when you have an existing order. We ended up with a too shallow drawer because I didn't see it prior to install. I was initially upset about it, but by the end, I didn't care, I just wanted to be DONE.

estrellita- see, I like your cat names! And Joe probably wouldn’t be as bad if the last dog hadn’t been named after DH (that one was really weird). Yeah, I think they just got caught up. FIL wanted to”fix” the problem of MIL crying all the time. I just talked to her last week and she didn’t have any plan on getting a new dog so this just seemed like a surprise. I love dogs (had one growing up and when DH and I got married)...their last dog was really annoying and it wasn’t really his fault (they want a dog but don’t want to do things that require work on their end)...he barked a ton, peed on people, play bit and just jumped all over everyone. Apparently this one is more mellow so that’s a huge plus!
ewall- thank you! When is your DS’s bday? I know it’s really close to C’s but am thinking it’s next week?
