Training plan for the week? Mon - 5 mi, Tues - swim/bike, Wed - 5-6 mi/strength, Thur - swim, Fri - 10 mi w/ 3 fast miles/strength, Sat - Rest, Sun - 70 min bike
Any issues or vents? My neck has been bugging me on and off the last week. It's stiff and sore. It feels better after using a heating pad on it. The most aggravating thing for it is when I'm cleaning up the kids toys, so many small pieces scattered everywhere.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I found out that I was selected for three months of free tri coaching with this organization! I'm very excited. I can use it anytime I want between now and November so I plan to use it starting in June leading up to the half ironman that I'm planning on doing in September.
I'm sorry! That sounds really frustrating. I hope you feel better soon. But it sounds like your body is telling you to take a break. How far from taper are you? Just a few weeks right?

Big hugs @vtcupcake. It’s really hard to let goals go especially if you wanted to run a certain time at that race. I’ve been there and it’s super hard to move past certain goals.
What are you training for? Date? Tobacco Road Half Marathon (3/18), Wilmington 70.3 (10/13), a few shorter races in there as well
Training plan for the week? Mon - rest Tues - Run or gym time when I get home since we are traveling today or trainer time tonight Wed - Run 8 miles Thurs - Masters swim am & Run 5 miles pm Fri - Masters swim am Sat - 10 mile run Sun - 7 mile run
Any issues or vents? My visit home went by too quickly as always and we didn’t get to see everyone.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? Running 9+ miles with scm1011 and until about the 10k mark I was feeling really good. Considering the hills, I’m really happy with our race and I’m feeling a bit more confident about my half marathon in March and my goals for it.

I don't know right now. I need my knee/leg to keep getting better so I can do my long run this weekend.
Training plan for the week?
M: run, body pump T: run W: spin class and body pump Th: run F: run Sat: long-ish run Sun: active rest/recovery
Any issues or vents?
On Friday my knee/leg ballooned to twice its normal size and I could barely walk for 2 days. Thankfully I'm feeling much better now, but still not 100%. I still have no idea what happened, unless I tweaked something while running hills on Thursday and my leg freaked out on Friday.
What are you training for? Date? - Hot Chocolate 15K 3/24, Half marathon 4/14
Training plan for the week? - M/W Swim, Tues/Thurs Swim and spin, Friday and Sat are TBD based on my PT appointment, Sunday rest
Any issues or vents? - My knee tested out as structurally fine last week at PT, but I was told to take a week off to let whatever I flared up calm down. And since my PT knows me so well, meant swimming and easy spinning, no running.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? - I finally got my butt back in the pool and am swimming the exact same times I was prior to the three month break.

I have been running more consistently the past few weeks, and I feel like it's starting to pay off. I feel stronger.

I just looked this one up and I WISH I could run it. If only it were during my kid's spring break I could do a runcation. I love Asheville and want to move back one day (ex-H is from there and I moved there for a bit).
Any issues or vents? I am seriously considering bailing on the marathon. I have been so sick. Not just this stupid adult croup bronchitis bullshit that I currently have, but I have been seriously sick since the end of October.

I haven't done it before, but many of my running friends have. Despite the fact that the first 6 miles are uphill, it's supposed to be a really nice race. I'm looking forward to it.

Training plan for the week? Shit gets real this week, got a real training plan M- 4 mile run. Comfortable effort. T- Plyo W- 1 mile warm up and cool down. 10x1 minute hill sprints with 2 minutes recovery between. Th- Plyo F- OFF S- 10 mile run. Steady and strong. Aim to run at least 5 miles w/in 45 seconds of goal pace. Su- OFF
Any issues or vents? So far things are going well. Stressing a little about coordinating child care for my upcoming long runs.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? Running in Dubai is awesome, when the weather is nice. So flat! And sea level!

What are you training for? Date? END-WET, June 16th.
Training plan for the week? Swim Thursday and Saturday/Sunday (24-hour relay in SF).
Any issues or vents? I've been SUPER busy with work lately (hooray!) and it's just killing my free time. I need to figure out a work-swim balance that works and doesn't leave me working like a madman at all hours of the night.
Also, a little terrifying to swim in Aquatic Park right now. They've had four sea-lion attacks in the last month and so I'm just swimming the buoy line instead of going out to the opening like usual. It's going to be a boring 24-hour relay with just swimming that close to shore.

Training plan for the week?
Monday - spin out the legs on the bike Tuesday - 7 mi run and lift Noooooooope. My legs aren't ready to RUN run yet. Instead I did a 30 minute walk/shuffle on the treadmill. Wheeeeee. Maybe tomorrow? Wednesday - 5 mi run, 1 hour on the bike Thursday - 7 mi run and lift Friday - 6 mi run, 1 hour on the bike Saturday - 12 mi and stretch/yoga, maybe also spending the day skiing Sunday - 6 mi and stretch/yoga
Any issues or vents?
Aside from still being sore from Saturday, I'm good.

PR'd my 50k on Saturday and got an interview for a postdoc. It was a good week!

What are you training for? Date? 10K, 2/24 Napa, 3/4
Training plan for the week? M: Spin (I blew off my 45 min easy run) T: Intervals W: Spin x 2, maybe strength and an easy run Th: Intevals (it's a really short set, so I might add in something else) F: 10 miles S: Yoga S: NO BULLSHIT 20-21 MILES (3 mile warm up, then run walk intervals for the rest trying to keep my pace around an 11 min mile on the run)
Any issues or vents? I am slow. I am hungry. And I have found that my long runs (18+) Absolutely wreck me for the rest of the day, hence pushing my long run to sunday so I can enjoy a snack-filled Super bowl free from guilt
Highlights or AW's from the past week? My run was pretty great this morning I swam laps this week and it was not mind numbingly boring.
Yep. The swimmers I know that swim there regularly have nicknamed him "Bitey". He seems to hang out near the opening of the park and hasn't ventured in yet. Normally, the route you swim at AP goes out there, but I'm kind of freaked (as are a few of the regulars I know out there), so my plan is to swim ONLY along the buoy line and honestly, I may not do a ton of night swimming. I'm on a team this year doing 45-minute shifts, so my night shifts may involve me standing in ankle-deep water for 45 minutes while I just nope along. We'll see how nerve-wracking it is on Saturday in the daylight.

Training plan for the week? M- Run 4.5 T- Rest W- swim TR - lift/spin or run F- Run or rest S- Run 4-8 - Traveling so will see how long of a run I can pull off S-Run 4-8 / swim clinic
Any issues or vents? My IT band has been a little cranky. I'm very anxious to plan out my bigger races for the year but can't until I find out about New York at the end of Feb. Outside of H&F I'm feeling very overwhelmed with a couple of things that I need to get in check.
Highlights or AW's from the past week? I've been feeling stronger & gaining confidence with each swim. I switched back to my old pair of googles and it's been a huge upgrade.
@vtcupcake, That sounds like a tough position to be in. I'm sorry your struggling and hope you get some answers/ clarity soon.
Training for- not sure yet, hopefully a 2018 triathlon. I'm a little annoyed by how much triathlons appear to cost, it's crazy
Plan M- I did a cycle strongboard combo class. 30 min of spin, 30 min of exercises on the strongboard (a balance thing). felt like good core work T- rest, body is very tired W- 3m run at lunch, evening swim T- spin F- swim or rest S- taking the kids skiing (I'll probably snowboard but it will just be the little slopes) S- not sure but either swim, bike, run or some combo
Vents- ankle a little irritated the last two runs I did but it didn't turn into actual pain so I'm happy. Sick of winter, I'm dying to get on my bike outside again but the woods are a mess
Highlights- I ran 3 times last week (10 miles total) which hardly even happens. I went snowboarding on Saturday (dropped the kids at lessons) and it was fun though super icy. I'm happy I didn't have any bad falls. I'm thinking of learning to ski, it's always icy around here it feels like, maybe skiing would be better
What are you training for? Date? Trail Half THIS SUNDAY! Trail marathon 3/31. Then tri season!
Training plan for the week? M - Swam T - Weights tonight W - Run AM, Bike PM Th - Bike F - rest? Might also swim with a running group stranger. Sa - rest. Maybe a shakeout mile with mama and sister Su - HALF MARATHON. On trails. My first. Eep!

Highlights or AW's from the past week? I attended a group run with total strangers and it was GREAT and i'm already "RSVP'd" to another tomorrow.
Oh, also I was concerned my mama was going to punk out on our race calendar because her training got derailed right along with mine when we were both sick, but she went out for a 10 mile trail run/hike yesterday and felt great after, so she's back on track! At least as close as she's gonna get. I just sent her a message with my suggested training plan for her (mostly just HHN1 slightly modified) and she was like, "oh that's totes doable" yay!
