I'm mentally preparing myself for a full makeup purge. I have so much stuff that was purchased in the early days of the OG MUT. Like...cream eye shadows? no. no wawa. those are trash. they're now the consistency of a fruit rollup? but I can still kinda use them.... TRASH. THEY ARE TRASH. STOP IT.
But it pains me to throw out half full containers of product. I can't use things up fast enough, even wearing makeup every day i feel like I'd never in a million years get through an entire color tattoo for instance.
I got a cream version of Bobbi Browns pale pink blush and highly recommend it! It’s great as a blush and decent as a lip color. Plus there is a little mirror in the compact .
wawa, getting used to letting stuff go is a constant process for me. I look at some MAC paint pots that I scored a great deal on, that barely look used but then I think about how old they are. Some are fine as far as smell and consistency/application. Those are the hardest for me to purge. I had to keep telling myself it was ok to get rid of a paint pot that was dried out. I kept having the urge to just revitalize it with some oil.
wawa I need to do a purge too. I haven't been wearing makeup as much because my collection is so cluttered and overwhelming that when I look at it, I get exasperated and can't find what I'm looking for.
A big source of my problem is the fact that I've got a ton of clutter from collecting deluxe samples of stuff from Sephora promo codes and Ulta GWPs. I have so many little sample size products, mostly lip stuff, but really a little bit of everything. A lot of them have nothing wrong with them, but they are just a meh color or impractical or I forget about them or whatever. Some of them I used a lot, then my tastes changed or I acquired a dupe I liked better.

My OG Becca soufflé, which is my all time favorite blush, crumbled into pieces the other day. Does oil help? Or should I just accept it’s almost 3 years old and purge?
I hate throwing away perfectly good stuff. (I mean, that’s not. But I have a benefit blush palette I hardly ever use.)
centralsquare, I've successfully brought a MAC fluidline back to life using a few drops of facial oil and stirring it up. Got the idea from YouTube. So, it's worth a shot to try.

Oh, that I'd totally try to put it back together. I refuse to give up my fig/opal souffle until it's GONE. germs and whatever be damned.

centralsquare, definitely try to save it since they're discontinued now
I have to do a purge too! I also have so many samples, which some are probably oldddd. I just can't bring myself to throw them out, it's always yeah I can use that at some point, and then I never do.

My Becca soufflé too. I legit teared up when I first saw this. I haven’t tried to save it but haven’t tossed it yet either.
ETA: autocorrect on my phone seriously pisses me off.
I made the mistake of letting retinol sit on my face for about 30 minutes before adding moisturizer (usually I do it right after, since I'm a newb)...guys. My face peeled all over. I didn't realize how bad it was until I put makeup on and looked a mess. Now I have like 100 tiny red zits? I can feel patches of the texture from them all over my face, especially my forehead.
I added a couple other things to my routine around the same time (Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12%, Argireline Solution 10%) so I'm not 100% sure it was the retinol, but I'm fairly certain.

Does MAC still have their recycle program where you bring in 3 empties and get a free lipstick or eyeshadow? It's been years, but I have a bunch of super old MAC products I've been meaning to trade in...
I'm having a really bad eye makeup day. My eyeshadow blended all weird and I tried a new mascara that is literally the worst I've ever used. I just want to go home and wash my face.

I caved and bought chocolate gold. You know because I totally need another eyeshadow palette. However, it is super fun and the shadows are great. I've tried two of the looks from the little booklet that came with it.

Also, this month's picture makes me want to play with electric colors again. How fun is that eyeliner with the freckles. Of course I'd have to go foundation free so my freckles were visible.

Wah!
If it's your first time using retinol, wash your face and then wait 15-20 minutes before putting it on. It's kind of uncomfortable, but drier skin absorbs less of the product, which means less irritation. And definitely don't use it the same night as other reactive treatments.

It's my birthday month
I placed a Sephora order (the DE Rise and Glow kit, so I can try out the C-Firma before dropping $80 on a bottle; UD De-Slick Setting Spray; Living Proof Perfect Hair Day 5-in-1 treatment), and I picked the B&B Hairdresser's Invisible Oil shampoo and conditioner for my birthday gift.
I probably won't bother picking up the Ulta birthday gift (a lip oil and mask). But I will totally take advantage of the 2x points all month and the $10 off coupon.

Hopefully your skin irritation goes away quickly!
Thanks Pants, I thought about tagging you for your skincare knowledge It was the 4th time I’ve used it (just weekly). Is there anything else I should do? I skipped this week and have been just using a ceramide gel moisturizer
Usually I put a salicylic acid toner on breakouts but I don’t want to further irritate my skin, I don’t think
I’m really happy with the improvements in my skin since I started using a Japanese face wash and the cosrx snail mucin 96! Hopefully the hyaluronic acid serum/gel thing helps more too and then I can start using acids to help with some pigmentation & acne prone skin.
I think I’ll replace my marula oil with rosehip oil too.

You just use it once a week? What I'd probably do is no nightly actives the day before and after, and use a rich moisturizer, like Cetaphil in the tub, or straight up vitamin E oil. An aestician recommended the oil to me earlier this year to use before an IPL treatment. I was a little nervous because I have acne prone skin but it hasn't caused breakouts at all. I use it as a final step, either that or CeraVe Healing Ointment (blue bottle), which is also a godsend for healing skin!

Can anyone rec something for removing dark spots on your face? I have a few spots that popped up when I was pregnant that have never faded. I know to make sure I wear sunscreen.
Another thing, boxycharm subscription boxes don’t have a waitlist right now. My sister subscribes. It’s $21 per month and you get 4-5 full sized makeup products per month. I just signed on for 3 months just to see if I like it.

Not Murad. So expensive and didn’t work for me at all. I haven’t found anything I like enough to buy to replace it either. I have just one spot between my right cheek and jawline so I am really deliberate with the concealer and that’s all I do for now.
I have had more work travel lately, so I've been taking half a dozen samples of things like primer and moisturizer and that is helping me put a dent in my samples. I also actually do eye shadow for a change.
I am in a makeup rut for sure, though. I still do my face every day, but it's foundation-blush-mascara-done.

Same here. I've kind of lost interest in make-up and am on a skincare kick right now. I did eyeshadow the other night to go out and it's probably been a month since I've done more than one color on my lid. Most days it's just foundation, blush, mascara and a neutral lipgloss.

same - but I half-ass the foundation too.
Though when I actually did recently do a full on LOOK (for a costume) I loved it. It's still fun. It's just not worth the hassle on a tuesday morning generally.
