My car is pretty clean. People always comment on it. I attribute it to the fact that it's usually only me in there and I do not allow food to be eaten in the car (water bottles are fine). If there is garbage, it is taken out when I get to my destination.
Been using it for non-profit pickups, toting cheerleaders and a dog so...yeah. Even had it washed (twice!) yesterday when it was serviced and still can't get all the bugs off the windshield and grill. Vacuumed it last Friday and it's once again a pouf-ball of dog-hair and girl-snacks.
I'm the only one on it so at most the are a few receipts or water bottles. It was much worse when I was on the road all the time.
Now the outside... almost never clean. I live in a very dusty area with almost no rain, a draught, and I'm usually under the carport. If I the it there's a new layeror dirt within hours
Heionously dirty. I tend slobbish everywhere, but my car is really the worst.
I'm here - my house and office are relatively cluttered, but not too bad and I can clean both with short notice. My car... OMG, it's the worst and takes forever to clean too.

When my kids were babies/toddlers it was always a disaster because I was frazzled/had babies to haul in and out and wasn’t quite keeping on top of the toys and snack crumbs that would accumulate. Now that my kids are older, the car stays pretty neat and clean. The floor mats can get rough during the winter even with regular vacuuming, but pretty neat.

this was my last car but I vowed to change with this one. It's relatively clean. H cleaned it last week when he was driving it, though, and said there were tons of receipts and candy wrappers in between the seat and center console. :S apparently I'm Willy Wonka.

I blame dd for my messy car. Between carrying her, a diaper bag, my purse, a lunch bag, a work bag, etc....extra stuff gets left in the car a lot.

Both my car and my apartment reflect my mental health status. I’m a type A organized person who likes everything just exactly so. But I also struggle with fairly significant bouts of depression. When my head is a mess my surroundings are a mess. And the messier it gets the angrier I am with myself and it becomes a whole cycle.
I’m currently feeling better than I have the last couple years and am actively working on massive clean outs, trips to Goodwill, organizing garage storage, full wash and professional detail on car interior. And with each layer of dust and crime I feel my mood and psyche improve.

Mine is always disgusting. And it always smells. My boss last year went through this whole ordeal bc her car smelled bad, taking it to multiple different auto places to try to determine the smell. That seemed like a novel concept to me. Usually i just ignore it until it stops smelling/I get used to it. I’m pretty mortified whenever I unexpectedly have to drive someone bc my car is so disgusting.

My car has always been a disaster and it drives H crazy. But, if ever we need something, anything, there it is in my car. The exception is when H cleans my car, suddenly I can't find anything and have no snacks/deodorant/charging cables/spare cash/etc on hand.
My car is pretty clean. I try to stay on top of the random things that clutter it up and clean them out every few days. I tend to be pretty messy but I feel so much better if I have a clean car
My father is neurotic about car cleaning - both cars gets washed and vacuumed weekly. He made me do it when I was a teenager as a condition of getting to use the car. Now that I'm adult, I refuse.
H likes to clean our car, so that's all him. Unfortunately, the trees in my neighborhood result in this gross residue being left on the cars parked underneath them from approximately May-October. We park on the street, and while some of the spots aren't next to those trees, many are. (And I'm also not a good enough parallel parker to sneak into a good tree-free spots.) So there's no guarantee of being able to find a parking spot that is not underneath those trees. So in the summer, the outside of our car often looks like shit.
I am the opposite! Well, our house isn't *spotless* but I am much more anal about having it picked up than I am the car. That is just a losing battle it seems with all of the shit my kids drag in there.
It could be a lot worse, but it's generally on the dirty side. I try to keep on top of trash but I don't vacuum or wipe down the interior nearly often enough.
My parents are flying in next week and they are not renting a car, so I will be driving them around. I am stressing about finding time to clean it before they get here. This has been an issue with my dad for 20 years now lol. He hates a dirty car.
I have a trash can so no clutter at all, but my car is currently the dog car so there is dog hair in the floor until it’s vacuumed every couple of months. I lint roll and vacuum the seats immediately after the dogs get out though.
Well, there isn’t really any clutter or excess crap in it, and no food crumbs or stuff like that, so at least there’s that. But I have a dog and a lot of outdoor hobbies, and I live in the snow belt. It is perpetually in need of vacuuming and floor cleaning to get rid of dirt, dog hair, salt and the like.
I cannot keep it clean, and I am clean in other parts of life. My kids are mess makers and somehow everything ends up in the car. it's disgusting and I hate it, yet here I am.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”
