Today I decided to try a lip pencil I bought and haven't used in age.  I remember why. While the colour is good, it's very crumbly/waxy and so it falls apart as you are using it.  It will go in the bin. But I'll try to find the lipstick in the same colour as I like it (it'd be more of a spring/summer colour for me).

Woke up with a cold/fever so decided to photograph a nude for my no makeup day. Why don’t I reach for this more? It has the perfect amount of pink in it for my coloring.

I’m also realizing (thanks to these selfies) that my lip line is becoming more and more undefined as I age. I guess I should start thinking about lip pencils.

Saturday I went with Anastasia gloss in Vintage. It's a mauve color like most of my collection, has a little bit of a shimmer. I like it, not too sticky but doesn't last long. But it doesn't dry out my lips like some glosses. I think I'll keep it.

Sunday I wore a Nars gloss in Vixen. It's a bronze-ish gold. It barely shows as a color on my lips, but I did get a compliment on it from the person who does my nails, so I guess it's a keeper. This one also isn't too drying, but it last less time than the Anastasia and it's less pigmented.

Monday I went with a Tartiest matte lip paint in bestie. This one is more of nude color. It almost washes me out, though it did last a pretty long time. I'll probably toss this. Didn't feel like it was MLBB nude.

Today I went with another Tartiest glossy lip paint in Goals. I like this color it's a soft pink and has a nice sheen to it, but I barely have any left after applying this morning and I haven't even eaten yet. Toss.

Lorac Pirates of the Caribbean Barbossy lip duo - matte brown lipstick (very basic medium brown) on one end, gold lip gloss on the other. This picture makes it look like the lipstick has a pink undertone...it does not. On me, it is a simple flat, matte med. brown. Feels nice on, doesn't sink into lip lines, I do need to use either my UD ozone or a nude lip liner with it. The lip gloss isn't my favorite, I do like the lipstick. Staying power is decent. My favorite out of this LE collection is Risk it All though, awesome nude on me. I'm undecided if I am keeping this one or not. Will decide later on in the day.

1st - Nars Anna. I'd forgotten how much I love this and need to wear it more.
2nd - UD Sheer Ladyflower. Love the color and the feel, but wear time is terrible even with a primer.
3rd - Maybelline Superstay 24 hr. Flaked off within 10 minutes and immediately went in the trash.
4th - Bite rhubarb - Feels nice and I like the color, especially for fall.

Yesterday - MAC Liptensity in Gumball. I really love this color and the product is VERY long-lasting.



Today - Tarte Tarteist Lip Paint in Homeslice. This is a nice neutral. I rarely look good in neutrals, especially not anything real brown, but this is a nice shade. I don't have a lot of liquid mattes because I don't love how they settle in my lip wrinkles.

I got inspired by another poster's lip look from the weekend and pulled out my tube of Nars' Autumn Leaves. It's super orange red on me, and unfortunately I didn't love the look as the day wore on. On the fence about whether or not to keep or purge it at the end of the month.

First I want to make it for missing Sunday.  This is Bobbi Brown Crushed lipstick in Babe.  I ordered a full-sized one already.




Today i wore Urban Decay Vice lipstick in Naked.  I'm feeling very meh about this one.  I may declutter it because it's just not exciting be lately.



I'm having the same issue as Bowies, my lip line is less defined as I get older.  Blah.

Still have a fever/cold so wearing a gloss this morning to pick up my car from the mechanic. Maybelline The Elixir in #010 Celestial Coral. Don’t know why I’m not reaching for this one either! The name is odd because it’s a sheer raspberry pink, not a coral.

I did not wear any makeup or even lip balm yesterday and probably won't today or tomorrow. I'm on vacation (at home) and taking a few days for a break from makeup.

I didn't wear anything on my lips on the 2nd. So here's the other 4 up to today:


running errands with the family. otherwise naked face, so I grabbed one of the glosses I threw in there. I NEVER wear gloss. This one is fine, but I'm definitely just eh on gloss generally and the baby pink does nothing for me. it'll be going in the giveaway pile for my teen babysitter to pick through because I think this is the second time I've ever used it. Also it appears I need to wax my mustache.



Makes it look like i had been eating a popsicle. I've also got it on my cheeks. I love all the other tints, but hadn't really used this one. Also love.


Actual makeup on! Kinda. This was the first colorful lip product I ever bought, but for some reason NEVER wear. but I really like it after wearing it for a day for the first time in a million years. Goes on super slippy and looks like it'll be dark as hell, but isn't actually and fades to a nice stain.  The tone to it is different from what I usually reach for - I default to plummy/berry tones - this is more..I dunno...on the red/brown side?  without actually being red or brown?   Despite being dark purple in the stick.


And again with an otherwise naked face. I left the house with zero makeup, so this is a desk drawer look. A random buxom gloss mini that I've probably never worn, but threw in my bag at some point. Plus mascara. Also from the desk drawer. Again...why do I own gloss? I don't like it. I like this formula better than the bare minerals one though. a little bit minty, not so sticky. No color to it though, just a frosty look when you first apply that promptly fades with the first sip of coffee.  Leaves my lips feeling nice though, so i'll give it that.  It can stay in the drawer I guess?

Maybe one of these days I'll make a waxing appointment...my brows are crazy too.

Day 1, lancome juicy shaker in lemonade explosion. Clear, and I love the formula.

Day 2, bare minerals gen nude in fire. I thought I was going to hate the color but I ended up liking it and it wore nicely.

Day 3, bite liquified in eclair, l love the formula on these

UD Jilted lipstick. Love it.  I definitely tend to choose lip colours that are "blue" in nature versus brown. It tends to wear off but to a nice pink stain.

9/5 today wearing KVD Lolita. Color is good, but I can already feel my lips drying up. Will toss.

I do like how a liquid lipstick gives me more definition on my top lip as I'm having the same issue as others..

My Sephora order arrived and I’m loving my Pat McGrath lipstick:) I wore it a bit yesterday and it lasts a good couple hours for a cream formula. The color online looked a bit more pink but I still love this type of shade so it’s ok.

Mac Dark Side - this is a favorite for the fall, sometimes I'll randomly wear it during the spring/summer to because you know...I do what I want. Mac's amplified formula isn't as long lasting as their mattes but it still has a decent staying power. I think I have to replace mine, it's smelling very waxy. Normally there isn't any smell. Oh well, I have a BD event tonight, I'll figure something out. The wax smell is a little overpowering. 




ETA: have changed to Bite Aubergine - nice fall purple, wearing NYX plum lip liner under it. It's a bit drier than the one I had on earlier but it is still comfortable.

I need more wine lipstick in my life, Dark Side is it in my collection. I thought surely I must have more wine/burgundy...NOPE.

Today I’m wearing a revlon just bitten balm. It’s photographing way darker than what’s in the package. It’s a soft pink, but I think it’s gotten darker as I’ve had it on.

It kind of feels like it’ll stain a bit once it wears, but I haven’t had it on long enough to know for sure.
