September Lip Pics

Today I forgot to pull a less-used lipstick out of my stash, so I decided to go with Bite Amaretto, which is a pink-toned greige on me. I love it, even though it's drying, and got a few compliments to boot!

Today I wore Bobbi Brown Sandwash Pink lipstick.  I got this as a mini from Sephora and that was reminded why I used to wear it all the time.  I'll definitely be getting a full size when the mini runs low.

I have to say that this is helping remind me that I need to get my upper lip threaded as I'm seeing my face up close a lot more (I need glasses and don't always use them - thus a bit of liner went outside the line as seen below).




This is a Body Shop lip definer in Blushing Pink.  It's not my favourite lip liner nor my least favourite - it's a bit dry.  I do like the colour as a good every day one but I think I'll use it just for lining and not filling in. I topped it with Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask.

Apparently I have a lot of the same damn color. I thought, maybe I won’t take a pic today, but here it is.

It’s matte, but not super dry. I remember liking this ok when I’ve worn it previously.

9/6 Today is Tartiest matte lip paint in Rave.  I really like the formula of these, they are a moussey texture, and aren't too drying on me.  This color pulls very greige on me.  It's rainy and gloomy here, so it's perfect, LOL.

It's not bad, but not fantastic either.  The wear time isn't great.  I think I'll go ahead and add this to be panned and get it out of my collection.

Bare Minerals Gen Nude liquid lipstick in Juju. Comfortable formula, allows me to go more dramatic on the eyes.

So here’s the mess I started with....





Nope that’s not in the wrong order, lol. They were haphazardly thrown in the bins, I dumped them all out to sort and re organize. I’ll post a pic once I finish my final organization/sort/purge. Oh, plus I have three full-size Urban Decay liquid lipstick I picked up at nordstrom rack and two sample cards of lipsticks I got from the recent Sephora sale as my freebies. I stopped counting at around 50ish. #oops

I did find about three deluxe samples each of fresh plain balm and the rose colored balm. Those will go in my purse and another set in my desk drawer.

Day 1



Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey. It’s fine. It wears nicely, nice tint to the lips and even weardown. I like it. Not super saturated color, definitely more like a tinted balm. But, comfy and easy to throw on without a mirror. Will probably send to work to live in my desk drawer.


Day 2



Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in Jennifer. Ulta’s website says it’s “alluring fuchsia” but it looks barely there on me. It stayed super minty/tingly for hours. And I don’t think it plumped my lips really at all. Probably going to toss it.

Day 3



Urban Decay Sheer Revolution in Sheer Ladyflower. You will see a bunch of UD in my pics. Both old and new formulas. It’s one of my favorites! Love this. It’s always in my purse because it goes with everything.

Day 4



Urban Decay Sheer Revolution in Sheer Shame. Again, love the formula, it’s a go to color.

Trestique Plumping Lip Balm in Barbados Berry Same as a poster above - I’m guessing we both got the Sephora Favorites box back in the spring! I don’t find it plumping at all, but love the color (a nice berry tint) and ease of application. Another option to keep in my purse to go with nearly anything.

Today I pulled out Nars Falbala, which I remembered liking when I first bought it a few years ago. NOPE. It's a blue-toned red, which means that it pulls fuchsia on me. I will probably purge it from my collection when the challenge is over because I don't like how bright pinks look on me.

ETA:  Reading fail!  I pulled out Flamenco, not Falbala, which means my memory is a little less flawed than I thought.  Can't say much for my early-morning reading comprehension, though!

Today I'm wearing Laura Mercier Creme Smooth lip color in Audrey.  I don't wear this one much and I think it's because it makes me feel very "done" when i do.  I also don't wear many darker pinks.  I think it looks a bit bluer on me than it does in there photo.  I'm still debating this one.  It's comfortable but I don't know that I love it.

too faced la matte in hey gurrl. This lipstick is apparently discontinued? Which is a bummer. It came in a GWP bag from ulta at some point in the past 2 years and I've probably worn it once. It's actually quite nice. it goes on a little draggy, but feels nice enough on, a smidge drying but not puckery at all, and has so far lasted through two cups of coffee and my breakfast. Also the packaging is delightful. A smooth semi-matte black with a raised logo and some nice heft to it.

I am as tired as I appear in this picture.  Also I did struggle a bit to get the shape right, and eventually decided I didn't GAF and just went on with my life.   Not sure the color is working with my top - the tone is different than I thought it would be, but oh well.  I like it in isolation.

Today I'm wearing Tarte Lipsurgence in Enchanted. Thankfully it's a mini, because the only good thing about it is that it's a nice color. It wants to feather and doesn't last at all, which is weird for a tint. It will be tossed tonight when I get home.

I have the same Trestique lip balm.  I actually hate the application, I can't be very precise with it.  I do agree it goes with anything and keep it at work in my desk for any lip related emergencies.
