i'm going to a costume party. My costume involves not quite clown white, but fairly white face makeup. I test drove it and omg it's so bizarre - my nose and chin looked ENORMOUS. I thought it was just me and then I showed a picture to my mom and she agreed.
So...I want to figure out how to gently countour my nose and chin on top of my pale face makeup so I don't look like a female jay leno. this should be fun...
i went and wandered around sephora last night with a 50ish dollar store credit in my pocket and didn't find anything that called my name. it was even a huge, really nice one with all the fancy brands. just nothing looked that interesting to me. am i broken? or is there nothing exciting out there for other people either?

I go through cycles of this as well. I vote not broken, sometimes the things out there are just not that exciting.

I'm also in kind of a makeup funk/rut. I've been SO TIRED that I'm oversleeping and don't have time to mess with my face. Also, my lips have been horribly chapped/stinging for a month so I haven't been wearing lipstick.

I felt like this about everything around the holidays last year. I’m kind of loving a bunch of high end spring releases though and that some actual cool toned palettes are finally coming out.

I've felt like this more and more since doing project pans and use-up challenges.

I’ve been so happy with Laneige Lip Sleeping mask. My lips were a wreck and my Bite agave lip mask wasn’t do anything. This stuff is the real deal.

Hm, funny you say that. I’ve been trying to use the Bite mask to heal them. Maybe that’s the problem.

Some people have that problem with the Bite one. I don’t get the hype with the Laneige one at all but they both have good reviews so I think it’s just a matter of trying it. I still reach for Chapstick or occasionally Carmen myself, haha.
alright, good to know i'm not alone ladies! i did go do some damage at LUSH right after though, so my 'beauty products' bone is not completely broken! some body scrub, lip scrub, a few shower bombs and a jelly mask made their way home with me.

Ooh, what did you get? I was just there yesterday and left with more than I was expecting to take home.

I love Lush, bath bombs and bubble bars especially. It sounds silly but I get into the scents/colors and kinda daydream that I’m somewhere else when I’m in the bath sometimes. 😆

jelly mask: (i had planned to pick up some sort of face mask, and ended up with this one. tried it last night and it was ... odd. i feel like i wasted a lot leftover on my hands, but my skin looks great this morning, so that's nice!)

Oooh, those all look good! I've never tried any of their shower bombs, but now I'm intrigued.
I got two bubble bars and two bath bombs, plus samples of a body lotion and shower gel (both sleepy, I think). Lush is such a wonderful and dangerous place!

I broke up with Lush because they discontinued my favorite products African Paradise and Turkish Delight. They have nothing comparable to them, at all. 😥
I ended up doing a no buy for Jan and most of the end of last year as I’ve been enjoying project panning and stuff. That’s all gone out the window this month lol. I’m loving the spring releases right now. I had my DH get me a YSL valentines lipstick instead of flowers. I jumped on a Nest perfume that’s half off right now and a Pat McGrath lipgloss trio. I’m just waiting on another Sephora code offer and I’m going to order the new Natasha Denona blush quad. Then there’s the spring sale soon...I need to stop haha.
I told DH last night, that if I get furloughed again next week, I'm going to break my no-buy and pick up the keracolor clenditioner to tint my hair purple.

Um what? They discontinued Turkish Delight? That's awful! I love that stuff (can't use it though, since it contains Brazil nut oil [or it used to anyway] which my H is deathly allergic to).

liking for purple hair potential, not furlough potential!
i was near some outlets this weekend and did major damage. i didn't know laura mercier and NARS were in the bare minerals/buxom umbrella of brands. i stopped by the bare minerals store since i love their tinted primer with SPF for low coverage days and was very surprised by the LM and NARS stuff. last time i had been to a BM outlet they did not have those brands. i got a gorgeous NARS eyeshadow duo and some LM caviar sticks. At a different outlet i picked up some UD lipsticks for 5 bucks each - a steal! and a kiehls face mask set. at the 3rd outlet (yes, i know, i am ridiculous!) i got a bobbi brown lipstick and a smashbox covershots palette. great prices on everything and my first big splurge of the year.

I bought this Kat Von D I’m Divine palette on sale at Sephora and LOVE it. I wanted a palette with some blues and greens and it hits the spot. Very pigmenty and I’m still learning how to use it but highly recommend.

Have you tinted your hair that way before? Tell me about it.

I second the Laneige Lip, it's made a big difference. I just finished up my first jar and I have had it for a long time. I alternate between that and another AB lip mask and I am blanking on the name at the moment.
Have any of you used Becca Hydra Mist loose powder? I got a deluxe sample in one of those Sephora Favorites sets and I love it, especially for setting my eye makeup/under my eyes. If you've used a full size, does the hydra effect last until the end?
