Thursday Randoms

I'm a chaperone on X's class trip to Animal Kingdom. I only have 2 other kids in addition to my own and I like them a lot, so that's half the battle down. lol. UNFORTUNATELY, it's gonna be hot as hell (hottest day of the week). Figures!!

Dd is home again today. She woke up Tuesday puking. We went in to see the pedi, just a stomach bug. Puked again yesterday morning but fine the rest of the day then woke up puking at 5am this morning.

The worst part is that she was supposed to go camping with dh this weekend so now that is canceled. No child and husband free weekend for me 😪.

Snow day yesterday, 2 hour delay today.

We also had off this past Thursday Friday and Monday for presidents day.

My kids are thrilled, but I'm super over it. I'm so behind at work.

Kappy weirdly only drinks water at work. We have a bowl of water in the kitchen for him, but he rarely touches it. But at work, he's all about the water. Aren't you thirsty, dog?

DH got mad because I asked him to put E's snack in the pocket of her lunchbox because otherwise she tends to eat it for lunch and then not have a snack. Dude, we've been doing it this way since September. Then he gets mad b/c he's like "I'm just in the way in here in the mornings." No you're not, but this is just one little thing that has been working for us.

Also speaking of snack. I need to find some reusable bags to send. I try and get her to remember to bring them back, but that's 50/50, so I'm hoping if I get reusable ones and label, she's won't throw them away.

4:50 is becoming my natural wake up time, and I don’t like it. On the one hand it means I have plenty of time to workout before DS wakes up, but I want to sleep!!

I’m going on a girls weekend next month and the other girls are all excited to sleep late with no kids. I think I’m going to have a lot of quiet time to myself that weekend.

It snowed yesterday but will be 50 degrees today. Back to cold and grey tomorrow. I’m ready for spring.

We have a similar issue at home. I get annoyed that I always handle morning routine and packing lunch, but H cannot get on board with our routine. When he does help he packs stuff DS won’t eat b/c he wants to get rid of it. I agree it’s annoying that DS is picky, but I also want to make sure he eats. When he doesn’t like what’s in his lunch the lunch bag comes home untouched.

I live in a fairly rural area, and two nights ago the one gas station in our area was hit in a robbery attempt in which the clerk was shot and killed. It’s a family-owned business, and will be closed for several days while the family mourns their loved one and while the crime scene is processed. The outside has been transformed into a memorial with balloons, flowers, and signs. I feel so bad for this family and for the income they will lose by closing down while they mourn. This is a business we frequent probably 2-3 times a week (as do most others in our area since it’s the only gas station and convenience store around), and while I don’t know the family personally, they are a part of our community, and the whole thing is just so sad.

My 8 year old also has a field trip. It will be about 37* and it's all out doors.

I am going along to keep an eye on him. I am hoping it's not too muddy, or cold. :/

Oh and SIL is coming into town for a conference this weekend. She gets in late tonight and we still don’t know if she’s staying with her daughter on campus tonight because it’s closer to the airport or coming to our house. She treats our house like a hotel and it bugs me.

It’s hailing and I’m debating taking the kids to preschool vs movie day at home. They are happily playing master builder (thanks LEGO movie) right now so I think I’ll leave them be.

My sister drove by when I was taking the trash out to the curb in my robe and is absolutely mortified I would do that. Her reaction was so funny!

I don't know if any of you follow men's college basketball but last night was a huge game.
Duke vs North Carolina
Duke star Zion Williamson's Nike shoe basically fell apart 33 seconds into the game and caused him a knee injury.
Barack O'bama was there and his reaction to the shoe coming apart is all over twitter. I cannot stop watching it.

I would totally text her and say you need to know Where she is staying and if you don’t hear by x time you assume she is not staying with you because she gave no notice. But I’m definitely on the bitchy side for things like that so maybe not the best idea.

Somehow this week is dragging, even though we had Monday off for the holiday and yesterday off for snow. I also feel like I have a ton to do and no time to do it. Obviously I should get off of here....

I need to get crap together for our bathroom remodels, meeting with the tile store's designer this weekend, and then we have to pick everything else for three bathrooms in the next two weeks. And I'm thinking about all the crap that needs to be cleaned out of the closet we're taking out to make room for a bathtub and where the heck that's going to go, logistics of getting the dog to daycare every day for six weeks, etc. It'll be worth it to have three functional full bathrooms instead of the 2.5 with issues we currently have, but I am not looking forward to the process.

I had this weird cold all week. Just a horrible cough. No mucus. I feel like it's a mini flu. I feel like my energy is completely drained. Also I am PMSing. I plan to work from home tomorrow in my bed all day. I hope it's a light day.

I pretty much have non stop conference calls for next 6 hours.

The kids were so mad they only had a 2 hour delay today, lol. They have yet to have a snow day, just because of how the timing of all our storms have been. This seems great now but if they don't end up having any they'll be out of school before any of the other surrounding areas and camps won't be open.

I hate when my husband does stuff like this. Just shut up and do it right. It's bad enough to have to deal with incompetence and inability to complete small tasks without asking me questions, I'm not listening to your whining as well. 

I saw a tip to get those little straps with clips people use to attach mittens to jackets and use those to attach the reusable snack bags to lunch boxes.

I'm annoyed. I was supposed to take a half a day today which would have had me working 7-11am. On Tuesday my boss scheduled a meeting for today that would run from 11:30-12:30. I offered to just move my working hours, as long as I'm home by 2pm, I'm good. Boss said that was fine. So, I planned to come in later today knowing that it would make my commute longer. It ended up going from my normal 1hr to 1hr 45min (this is why I normally leave my house at 6am). Apparently, last night at 5:45pm he cancelled the meeting. I get done work at 3:30 normally, so this was long past my end time. He knew that I had rearranged my half day for this meeting. Imagine my surprise when I got in and turned on my computer to find out he cancelled the meeting. I'm not happy.

I got my period when i woke up.

Realized i returned one of our Calvin and Hobbes books instead of the one we had borrowed, so that is fun.

And C has some sort of bad cold, maybe the flu, so she is home. It seems like a head cold, but she her appetite is down, she is feeling pretty tired and said her muscles have been hurting. so who know, maybe a sinus infection. her temps are elevated, which is how things started with me and Dan. Will be keeping an eye on things.

My period finally started after 3 days of spotting. Last month it was late, this month random spotting before starting. Come on body, get it together. I honestly don't know why women who aren't having anymore children still need periods. Medicine needs to make something quick and easy for us.

IUD? A pain at first, but I've had basically no period after spotting the first two months or so.

The cleaning ladies couldn't come yesterday because of the weather, and they couldn't guarantee that they'd be able to reschedule. Thank God, they just texted and they're coming tomorrow. I really didn't feel like cleaning.  And tomorrow's my day off, so I'll take dd to breakfast, run some errands, and come home to a clean house. Yes!
