What have you read this past week? What are you currently reading?
QOTW: With all the hype about Avengers End Game, now out in theaters - what is you favorite comic book/graphic novel character (and/or series)? It doesn't have to be one that was made into a movie.
I read No Exit. Hated it. It's the first 1 star review I've given this year. It was just completely absurd and over the top. It read like a really bad action movie.
I started The Hunting Party last night. I'm really into it so far.
QOTW: Does She-Ra count? I know I had She-Ra bedsheets when I was a little girl. I'm not a huge fan of comic books and/or movies inspired by comic books though I've seen some of them. I've probably enjoyed the X-men series the most. Oh, and I did find Deadpool humorous.
I read Tattooist of Auschwitz (I feel weird rating a book that is a true story about the Holocaust, so I don’t have a star rating, but I am glad I read it) and started All Joy and No Fun, a book on parenting. I am starting Normal People by Sally Rooney this weekend, and I’m excited to read it. It’s been given a ton of great press, so my hopes are high.
Spirit Witch by Helen Harper 3 stars/paranormal romance This kind of ended on a slump
My Lovely Wife by Samantha Downing 2 stars/thriller This was kind of terrible on multiple fronts.
Falling Into Bed with a Duke by Lorraine Heath 3.5 stars/historical romance This was good but not particularly memorable
Hard Hitter by Sarina Bowen 3 stars/contemporary romance Average sports romance
Intercepted by Alexa Martin 4.5 stars/contemporary romance This was SOOOOOO good!!! But I highly recommend ONLY listening to the audiobook, don't read it.
Total so far for the year: 54
QOTW: I was obsessed with Archie comics as a kid and made my parents buy it whenever we went through the grocery story checkout line every week.
I finished Circe. I started The Feather Thief by Kirk Johnson. You wouldn't think that a theft of feathers would be interesting, but it's a true story and it's so absurd that it drew my attention in from the start.
QOTW: I am starting to come around to comics/graphic novels through my kids love of them. I don't have a favorite though.
I'm reading exactly the same stuff as last week, All Our Wrong Todays and The Italian Teacher (totally not going to get this finished by tomorrow for my book club, because I'm only halfway through and I'm not fast enough or motivated enough to power through it today).
QOTW: Saga is pretty amazing, but probably my favorite is Death Note - although I haven't really ever read the manga, I've just watched the series multiple times (the original Japanese anime, not the awful Netflix bastardized movie - although I have seen that too, as well as the Japanese live action adaptations; it's the anime series that's great.)

The Feather Thief pissed me off so much! Not the book itself per se, just the hubris and white male entitlement behind the thievery.
... I was obsessed with Archie comics as a kid and made my parents buy it whenever we went through the grocery story checkout line every week.
I had forgotten all about Archie! Based on what I remember, I imagine I'd be pretty horrified by them now. Betty vs Veronica and all the gendered tropes! But I definitely like them when I was young.
I’m reading The Last Cruise by Kate Christensen, which I am enjoying a lot more than I thought I would. I had trouble getting a book started this week. The characters are nicely layered— lots of flaws, and I didn’t like any of them at first, but they’ve all grown on me.
Reading Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid Nearly finished. I had about 10 minutes left on my audio for A Rule Against Murder by Louise Penny and it returned to the library, I have to wait an estimated 3 weeks to finish!
Not really a comics/graphic type person. I enjoy the superhero movies, although I haven’t seen any in a long time (other than kid friendly stuff). Love Wonder Woman of course. I also was a big fan of reading the Luann comic strip when I was younger but lost interest as she didn’t grow with me.
I finished There, There as well as Harry Potter & The Chamber of Secrets. I've been in the middle of The Children's Crusade for a while but I'm just not into it. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and Us Against You both came in to the library for me this week so hoping to start those this weekend.
I never was really into comic books but I always liked the idea of Wonder Woman as a kid.
I’m reading the Alice Network. It’s for my book club. I’m loving it. I can’t help but cast the movie as I read. Not sure about the women, but Rene is Ralph Fiennes.
I don’t really do superheroes, but I love the Deadpool movies. I used to watch The Incredible Hulk on tv when I was a kid.
