I had finished an Hourglass powder and started It Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Poreless Finish Airbrush Powder. It’s a great powder— really does “airbrush.” However, I can’t use it totally all over because it would do bad things to the tops of my cheeks. But nose and forehead? It’s great.

Spent September using up all my samples. Cleaned out my makeup drawers over the weekend and found a bunch more samples🤦‍♀️ I really loved the sample of Marc Jacobs Shameless foundation which had bad reviews I think but it looked great on me and held up to hot/humid weather. It’s on sale now too but my shade is sold out and gone so I think it’s being discontinued. wah wah

I've been using the Elf blur stick for the last week. I just use it on my t-zone and think it makes a big difference.

i was at sephora tonight so swatched some items from holiday sets and the like to start narrowing my list for my bday/xmas/winter sale and coupons that normally pop up. the hourglass shimmery/sparkly cream eye shadows are divine. so smooth, so pretty, great coverage in one swipe. the sephora lip kit with one half treatments/oils and one half color products is intriguing. i'm not totally sold, but could be persuaded.

I'm kind of over new makeup. Skincare is where it's at for me. I have a bajillion points at Ulta to use due to birthday 2X points paired with some 5X points offers. I think I might just use them toward a Dyson hairdryer and then be done. Unless there's a great skincare set offered in the holiday sets, I am probably not going to get anything.

I have purchased a total of 2 eye palettes all year. I'm pretty proud of that! LoL. The only eye palette I'm interested in is soft glam (I know, I'm really late to the party on this one). I might use some points toward that palette.

Doing my own powder dip nails has kind of replaced my love of makeup.

I've been watching makeup declutter videos, "what I'm not buying/anti-haul" videos, and "you don't need to buy more of this type of product" videos. There have been some good points made, including that in the past we did eyeshadow singles and that's how we made a "travel palette" that truly worked for us. I'm going to do a makeup purge. I have palettes that were exciting at the time, but honestly very few that I use. I think for most purposes, I'd be fine with Naked 3 and the 6 pan shadow 'palette' I put together from MUFE, plus a few MAC singles (Sketch, Malt, and Kid) and two different eyeliners. I'm really rethinking a lot of the makeup I have and wanting to get to a more pared-down amount of products that I'll actually use.

I’ve used Becca Backlight primer in the past and didn’t care for it/didn’t notice it doing anything. I used a sample of it today and omg I’m glowing lol. I don’t know what’s changed but I see what the hype is about now. I might pick up a bottle during the VIB sale now.

I've had that same experience before and the only thing I can attribute it to was the foundation I layered on top.

Question about a makeup poster, one of the OG’s of the first makeup thread. Last winter, persa told ML and CEP that she had terminal cancer and did not expect to make it to this fall. It made me terribly sad. Does anyone have any updates on persa? ☹️

OMG. I've been off the boards for a long time. I remember persa. This is such tragic news.

I generally have kind of watery eyes. This wreaks havoc on eyemakeup. Lately, when I would gently dab at my eyes, it would sort of force the tears onto my eyelids. The tears would mix with my UD eye primer and sort of make it turn scaly and by the end of the day, irritating. I stopped using the primer and have just patted foundation onto my eyelids instead and am no longer having that problem.

Huh. I wonder if I was allergic on some level to the UD potion primer. The foundation seems to be working, so maybe I just won't use the primer at all.

I had a similar reaction to UD primer potion. Some UD eyeshadows give me a reaction as well. Vice 3 made me itchy, but Ammo is fine. It's weird.

NewOrleans, I had the same issue with the UD primer. I also can't use the TF one. I went back to MAC paint pot, which in hindsight I should have just stuck with.

This palette is seriously gorgeous.  I need to not buy more makeup because like others, I'm not using it that much, and we just moved from a two bedroom house to a one bedroom apartment and there is no place to put it all. But my goodness I want this.

Holy shit that stuff stings. And is gritty. I know the reviews mention both, but it's far more unpleasant than I anticipated.

That's so sad about Persa. I was wondering why she wasn't posting anymore.

I got Botox about 1 1/2 wks ago to hopefully help with my migraines. They inject into the forehead, which in turn helps with lines. Unfortunately it also relaxed the muscle that holds up my brows, so my brow has dropped on both eyes (at least it's even) and now my hooded eyes are even worse than before (my brow is resting on my top lid). I might as well not even attempt eye shadow and mascara is difficult to apply now. My eyes now look puffy since I have a more prominent brow bone. I wonder if my neuro can adjust where he injects next time to avoid relaxing that muscle.

Something magical happened when I moved.

On Saturday, 10/12, at 5:38 pm, I placed an Ulta order. I did not pay for extra special shipping. Regular shipping only. It was delivered today at 10:42 am. Zero business days. I don't even understand how that is possible. I typically waited 4-5 business days at my old place.

It was a large order too! So it's not like they just wandered over here with a tube of Gimme Brow. I needed to refill a bunch of stuff that I used up pre-move, and was taking advantage of the fact that I had 3X points + 2x for birthday + certain hair products had extra points. So I spent like $120 (and got 750 points!) on a bunch of products that had to be boxed up.

I pulled out my UD Smokey palette this weekend after not having used it in about a year. Once I go through 2 shades, I'm probably going to just toss it. The formula isn't what I remembered and the shadows just got muddy. I guess my shadow preferences have changed over the last year. I really did not enjoy using this palette.
