I'm looking for a 4.5 year old boy. He is into building and imaginative play.

Also his 18m old sister.

And a 6 month old second boy.

6yo insanely active boy who wants nothing but screen activities but turns into a lunatic after 4 minutes of them.

Depending on your budget, a nugget couch works for all those ages. Our 10 month old niece likes to crawl and climb on it, my 10 year old middle schooler and her friends use it to build forts, obstacle courses, and as a bed for sleepovers. And of course all the ages in between play with it in different ways.

hamster, Playmobil sets are popular with my 4 year old, as are Picasso tiles (cheaper magnatiles).

Yes. I was surprised at how comfortable it is. It’s bigger than I thought it would be. We now have 2 😂

DS would like all the Nerf Blasters, but he turns insane with those too. I keep having to take them away, so I refuse to buy more at the moment.

I might get him the Playmobil ambulance though, and maybe the police or fire station. Any other suggestions welcomed! I'll also take ones for outdoor toys or other things that can keep him occupied indoors in the winter.

Well I'm stumped at the moment because I thought A would want something horsey from Santa, since she loves all things horse-related. But she has just informed me she wants a toy cougar and not a stuffed one and WTF do I do with that?

It's my fault. She's been obsessed with cougars ever since I told her our island has the highest concentration of them in the Americas. I probably shouldn't have also told her she was snack sized.

My parents bought my 2.5 year olds this trampoline for Christmas! I’m excited to set it up for them. We’re setting up a new play area in our basement so this will go well down there in the winter.

We have this and my kids (7 and almost 4) like it. It requires some parental help though ime. My 7 year old has just started being able to build stuff on his own but needs us to help hold up parts etc.

They are more likely to create other stuff like golf clubs or things to hit each other with out of them. They also love to dump the balls down the stairs into a tub or bin on its side.

They are entertained either way lol.

We have this and while I definitely have to help set up, it keeps them busy for quite a while (6 and 4 years old). I pull it out for a crappy weather activity.

That said, I bought it at Aldi last year for like $14 before a big blizzard and thought it was worth it. I wouldn't want to pay $50.

I think we are leaning towards getting DS (18 months) a pikler triangle with the ramp/slide board. Hopefully it will keep him entertained during our long, cold winter.

I am ordering it from a local couple who have a business making it & other wooden items. There are a lot of them on etsy too. 

If you are considering getting out, they come in 2 sizes, I would recommend going with the larger as the kids outgrow the smaller one quite fast.
