I need suggestions for DD (3). Thanks to big brother (7), we have tons of toys - Little People animal sets, magna tiles, Duplos, etc. She got a trampoline last Christmas. She also got the Target doll that is the same size as the AG doll for her birthday two months ago, but isn’t in to doing much with that yet. We also already have a tricycle, balance bike, wheely bug and plasma cars. She loves books, so she’ll probably get a few more, but we have tons of those, and visit the library weekly. She loves board games, so we play a lot of Candyland, Chutes & Ladders, Sneaky Snacky Squirrel, etc. She also loves Minnie Mouse, but I’m not coming up with anything there that she’ll play with.
I’ve thought about the Nugget couch as she and her brother both love to turn the Anywhere chair upside down and dive over it, but then that seems like a present for both of them and not her. He has a ton of Legos on his list, so he’ll be getting those plus some sports stuff he wants.
I am ordering it from a local couple who have a business making it & other wooden items. There are a lot of them on etsy too.
If you are considering getting out, they come in 2 sizes, I would recommend going with the larger as the kids outgrow the smaller one quite fast.
Do you think 3 is too big for one? DH could make one. I’ve seen plans for the ramp, but hadn’t seen the slide before - looks fun.
I wouldnt think so! My friends kids are a bit older and still use it for building forts/tents, camping in the living room etc. Once they outgrow it, I am sure it would be easy to sell on a BST group.
Big hits in the past have been: bounce house, Springfree Trampoline, legos, robotic science kits - the hex bug brand have been great, Literati book club, board games, Osmo, Nintendo switch, night vision googles, magic kits.
I just grabbed an fao Schwartz Mat piano from Costco today that I’ll save for Christmas.
6yo insanely active boy who wants nothing but screen activities but turns into a lunatic after 4 minutes of them.
A basketball hoop that can hang on his bedroom door? We got our kids an indoor climbing ladder a few years ago. Hung it from a beam in our basement. Or what about a tabletop air hockey or foosball table?
tcu2003, we have only ever gotten tiny packs of them from restaurants. So there were maybe 8 in there and not really worth keeping. But they do seem to be as reusable as play doh. Not forever, but for as long as they are interested in them.

Anyone have ideas for older kids? My step kids are 15 yo boy and 11 yo girl
We keep asking for ideas and wishlists, but we get basically nothing. I did get a few ideas from the 11 yo this past weekend, but nothing for a main gift. They are both so busy with sports (both play tennis and 11 yo plays golf) and they live an hour away that we hardly see them when they have free time anymore.

Is there a sporting event or concert they want to attend? Tickets could be their main gift, and then you could all go together and get to spend some time with them.

How about a nice duffel bag to hold their sports stuff along with a new water bottle and personalized towel?
We have four additional nieces and nephews since last year! Every single one of our had a kid. Any idea for affordable but not cheap looking gifts for seven kids ages 3.5, 2, 2, 1, and three babies? I am hoping for $20 max since we have 27 people to buy for this year. Sigh.
I could use ideas for my two nephews, ages 2.5 and almost 1. They live in a really narrow townhouse already filled to the brim with toys, so it needs to be small/space saving/easily packed away.
DD1 (3 yo) saw the mercedez benz ride on car in the target catalog and now she wants it. LOL.
I'd maaaaybe consider something similar but cheaper but we don't have a safe space for her to really get good use out of it. I'm not sure if there are any other alternatives. She already has a trike. I've been browsing the gift recs on amazon and added a couple board games, the Vtech camera, magnatiles, and some body books to her list.

My BIL got us pop up tents that fold down really small and I so appreciated it!

Can you do an experience? Day at the zoo? GC to a toddler appropriate play place?
Well I'm stumped at the moment because I thought A would want something horsey from Santa, since she loves all things horse-related. But she has just informed me she wants a toy cougar and not a stuffed one and WTF do I do with that?
It's my fault. She's been obsessed with cougars ever since I told her our island has the highest concentration of them in the Americas. I probably shouldn't have also told her she was snack sized.
We recently had the news on and L saw a story about a cougar (mountain lion to us) who attacked a young boy, though this was across the country from us. She's been obsessed with them since, asks me to show her pictures of them and asks constantly if they live around here and will they eat her. We don't have them here though. Can't help you on the toy though!
Can I please have recommendations for a 2 year old girl who loves jumping, her teddies, play kitchen, water doodle and books?
We also have her birthday in late November and already plan to get a little tikes trampoline.
definitely the trampoline for starters! Do you have a balance bike yet? Costumes for make believe?
krystee, can you do family gifts instead?? Or are each of the kids in different families? I would seriously buy a family gift that all the kids in the family can use, so you do not need as many individual gifts. Family pass to a museum for a day. Or the zoo. Or the like.
tcu2003, WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR ME TO THINK OF GIFTS FOR SECOND KIDS?!? I am the worst and am always like, HOW COULD THEY NEED ANYTHING? lol.
mskitkat, I would do books or something with a craft good for little kids. Or again, some sort of experience gift good for kiddos.

Lucky you can give a simple explanation that she doesn't have to worry because they don't live there. I struggle between wanting to be honest and not wanting to scare A. We do a lot of camping so go over bear and cougar safety frequently. I'd take my chances with a bear over a cougar any day! Now if only I could figure out the toy and I'd be set. 😂

I really like this idea, especially for the 15yo! He's always in tournaments and a nice towel would be great for all his tournaments in 100+ degree heat in the summer. And we could probably easily do the same for his sister which would work for both sports.

I'll have to look to see what is coming up in our area. Neither kid has been to anything like that really, so it could be really fun and exciting to get something for them like that. I love the idea of experiences rather than stuff since the memories will always last.
