I had a positive test yesterday. Iām working with reproductive immunology now, and Iām waiting response from them re: next steps. Iām so nervous and scared. I feel like I just signed myself up for more heartbreak. I have to just trust it can be different with all the meds, but I almost feel sick Iām so nervous. Trying to just try to take it one day at a time.
I ovulated crazy early- day 8-9?!? So Iām 11-12 dpo depending on the date. I had my labs done yesterday. My chart starts going up at 8 but really up at 9, so hard to know.

My second beta was 164. I just went to the immunology clinic this AM- they said my uterine blood flow looks good, but of course it's too early to see anything. I got IVIG today as well. I go back next Friday and again the following week. Then I start alternating between their office and my local OB office (save me from driving the hour trip every week). Fingers crossed.

Beta continues to go up. Was in to have my blood flow ultrasound clinic today - blood flow looks great. There is a sac measuring appropriately (2 days ahead), but can't see anything in it yet. I go back next week.

My beta only went from 4200 last week to 4700 yesterday. Iām really worried this means I am miscarrying, but Iām also reading that it slows down around this time? Iām about 5.5 weeks. She is repeating it tomorrow. Ugh. She said there best bet is to look at the ultrasound on Thursday. Iām googling and seeing it may be possible things are ok? Anyone with experience?
@@@ So many fingers crossed for you, the waiting is so hard. I know its common for betas to start slowing at 5 weeks and beyond (mine did and it freaked me out but everything was fine).

How many days apart was this?
@@@ With both my pregnancies, my betas started slowing after 1200 and got slower the higher they got both everything turned out fine with both.

It was Friday to Monday. It was also two different labs. Iām waiting at the lab now to have another drawn and then ultrasound tomorrow. Iām really nervous.

Ahh! Yes. That makes sense.

Anecdote. At one point I was having my beta's being monitored by my RE but my family doctor wanted me to get a check earlier. I had her check them at 10dp5dt and then my RE checked at 12dp5dt. The beta did not double and I was convinced that something was wrong. I googled and found out that different labs have different values and so checked again with my family doctor on 12dp5dt (I know, I am insane) and the numbers more than doubled. Different labs, different numbers but same day.
Also, at around where your HCG is now is where mine really started to slow down as well with both my pregnancies!

pandora89 thanks, that's reassuring. I'm really nervous but these stories are helpful. All my losses have been later than this and I have never had more than one beta before. The reproductive immunology clinic is monitoring me like a hawk.
That actually seems like a good number. It starts to slow down, but also, my RE's office has said that once you get to the point where you can see things on the ultrasound, measuring and tracking development is a far better indicator than HCG. Is tomorrow your first ultrasound?

I had one last week- they saw a sac measuring on time/2 days ahead.

I've been anxiously awaiting the results message - it went up to 5905 since Monday. Not doubling, but not dropping. Hopefully it's just leveling out. The fact that it went up not down is reassuring.

Well, I just got home. They saw a large bleed in the top part of my uterus above the sac. The sac was only slightly bigger but there was now a yolk sac, which is a good sign. the NP told me I may start bleeding, may start bleeding and miscarry, or it may resolve with no bleeding. I'm now on couch rest and was told to stay home from work on Monday and Tuesday (not scheduled the rest of this week). They redrew my beta today to see if they can see if it is trending one way or another.
The NP admits it looks bad but also says she has seen a few people in this spot who went on with their pregnancies. She went and talked directly to the well known reproductive immunologist, who said she was hopeful it could still be ok.
Ugh and I had to send an email to work saying I was directed by my doctor to stay home on Monday and Tuesday. I know it is going to lead to questions, and I don't really want to discuss with them. I honestly feel like they think I'm kind of an idiot for even considering trying agin.

Oh Peonies/ What a hard update. I'm sure it's difficult to hope for the best with your history (don't I know it.) Also I really relate to what you said about work thinking you're an idiot for trying again... I get that impression sometimes from coworkers too and it sucks. Thinking of you and waiting for your beta update from today.
