Baby quilt for DS2s teacher, who DS1 also had. Includes fabrics from quilts I made them. I hadn’t done HST before, but I love how fast it has come together. I’m also currently working in the same space, which is also the basement storage area. I happened to set up my computer so my design wall is behind me in video calls, instead of the shelves of stuff and other mess, so my coworkers got to enjoy this the other day too.

Been stitching out bag tags, slowly. This one was done before our last tournament in February. But I’ve made 6 more this week for different hockey players and sports.
I'm just cleaning and organizing my crafting space, which is an entire spare bedroom and also serves as storage. It's a massive undertaking since we've just been dumping stuff in there when we don't have a place for it :/ I have been completly on my own the past 3 out of 4 days with the kids, though, so NO progress has been made. (H was at work, then he was home for a day, but the past two days he's been sick - we're assuming strep at this point but we're waiting for the culture test - and since it's 10 and he's still in bed I don't think he's going to be any help today either and I am going TO LOOSE MY FUCKING MIND OVER HERE)
I just started knitting this: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rowan-berry I haven’t done much of any knitting for a couple of years, so it’s very slow going to get started. But right now something that requires a lot of my attention is a very nice distraction from my usual monkey mind of anxiety.
charlatti, that will be lovely. What color are you using?
I have thrown out no less than 6 bags of trash (lots of paper, fabric scraps, old supplies that are no longer usable, etc) from my crafting space. I have packed up two large boxes of fabric and yarn I am finally admitting that I'm never going to use and stashed it in the basement until the current situation is over and I can donate it somewhere. I'm SO CLOSE to having a usable space again. I can work for about an hour before my motivation starts to wane and I can't really focus anymore. But I make progress every day and for that I'm grateful. Now I just have to figure out how I'm going to store my fabric stash (how did it get so big?!? and that's with 2 boxes to donate!). I want it not in boxes because I feel like if it's in boxes that aren't transparent I'm going to forget what I have and I'll be back at square one.

mala I like hiding my stash in dresser drawers if at all possible. At the last house in was in a queen storage bed in my sewing room. In this house I plan to put a small 4-drawer chest in the room on the one empty chunk of wall. I always rolled my fabric and sorted drawers by type- clothes knits, clothes wovens, quilt backs and large quilting cotton cuts, and long term quilt projects. The long term quilt projects are all sorted in clear plastic bags or large ziplocks so I can see what’s in there.
Right now all my excess storage is still in the Queen bed which is now DD’s bed. I need it out of her room!
I’m looking for a new craft to pick up. I want something that will create useful things that are quick (2-4 hours total) to do and not tool intensive. I was thinking cross stitch or crochet but don’t know what I’d do to make that useful. I don’t want wall hangings or extra blankets or scarves. The circuit seems interesting but not something I can do while watching tv or helping the boys with their school work. Sewing would require my machine to be out and all the stuff to be out. I scrapbook but not feeling that at the moment. I’m at a loss. Any ideas?

If you are interested in crocheting but not doing large projects, why not something like amigurumi? I am enjoying picking up origami as well, but that won't really make anything useful.

I make useful things with yarn all the time! You can crochet coasters, placemats, seat cushions, storage bags/baskets, produce bags, washcloths, curtains, dishrags/scrubbies, pot holders, pillowcases (or pillows with a tight stitch), stuffed animals, soap pouches, water bottle holders, cozies for anything that will hold still long enough, and of course scarves, hats, sweaters, mittens/gloves, socks and blankets (which are truly useful sometimes).
I also weave and knit- weaving is fairly limited to rectangles/flat things, unless you sew (I do), but, knitting is just as portable as crochet, if you prefer it as a craft.
Ravelry is a great database/community of yarn people- sign up (it's free) and poke around.

I don't know, knowing how to make a jumping frog, crane (with flapping wings), and bowl/cup was incredibly useful when I had toddlers in restaurants. Those little paper strips they use for napkin wraps make perfect little frogs.
I made a bag. I needed something bigger, but I'm having trouble finding an ideal pattern with everything I want. I think I'm going to have to draft my own. But in the meantime, I made this bag from Swoon. Two external and two internal patterns. I added a zip pocket and extended the strap because I prefer to wear bags crossbody. All stash, fabric and supplies. Crappy pictures because I don't have the headsapce to try to get better pictures.

Zip closure, at least 3 pockets I can slip water bottles into (one for me and each of the girls), large enough for my wallet and battery pack, a diaper or two and wipes (in a baggie, not a full pack), my kindle, and/or a small knitting project (but not those last three at the same time).

The first one is a little large but very close to what I was going to make if I drafted my own. I have several designs from the same designer as the second link that I bookmarked as possibilities, but I missed that one and it looks like a very strong contended now! Even There's enough room in the interior that I could add a pocket for the water bottle inside.
I’m temporarily out of mask supplies so I’m creating other projects to fill my time. DS (5) got so excited about getting money from out Easter egg hunt that we wanted a wallet. Found this (free) pattern online and made it with fabric and notions in hand. I’m so damn proud of myself!!

I recently upgraded to a 27" monitor. Y'all's pics are huge on this big screen! I love that cross stitch. And the little wallet is too cute. And go you on the zipper!

Since we aren’t having in person birthday parties, I’m cranking out gifts to throw to their porches.
The bag design is from Parker on the Porch. The names are from fonts from Designs by Juju and Planet Applique. And the animal designs are from Urban Threads. Each design lost a creature or two because of the width of the bags.
I still have one more to do. And then my daughter turns 10 on Friday.
My 9 year old has gotten really into his stuffed animal dog - I think because of all of his anxiety about coronavirus. Anyway, I made a stuffed bone for his stuffed puppy.
ETA: I had a really hard time cutting the heart. It made it clear to me how my fabric scissors need sharpened.

Cardmaking? You can get kits if you don't want to design your own from scratch. I used to do Stampin Up but I love the Echo Park card kits. Not sure if this is too close to scrapbooking, but I find it very useful to always have a stash of birthday cards.
shortcake2675 I love Parker on the Porch! I have a few different files from there that I grabbed when she ran a sale. Can’t wait to get back to them!
Did you make the tassels with the silver caps or buy them? I have the hardest time finding end caps. I love how you did the green tassel!!
Bought the silver capped ones on amazon. There is not enough money to be saved by making them. I didn’t have one to match for the dinosaur bag, so it was a lazy one out of a scrap of vinyl. i think I saw the caps in a 6 pack at Walmart a while back.

I’ve made 15 masks 😷 in the past week for family and friends. I think I have like 30 more requested. I’ve been batch making them but sewing the bias ties is killer. Thank goodness I have a bias strip maker.
