If one single asshole says a damn word about these protests and COVID, I am going to lose my mind. We should all be out in the streets.
The protest organizers reminded people to wear masks and social distancing. That has been the only Covid reference I've seen. People were even making masks to hand out at the protests.
I don't mean the organizers. I mean the "open it up, it's my right but also blue lives matter" folks.
"Hello babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. On the outside, babies, you've got a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies-"God damn it, you've got to be kind.”

The protest organizers (there are many different groups organizing and all have same recs) reminded people to wear masks and social distancing. That has been the only Covid reference I've seen. People were even making masks to hand out at the protests.
It’s clear that George was handcuffed, complying with orders (walking across the street with officers), and not resisting arrest like they want you to believe.
Generally speaking I couldn’t be more pro union than I am but I have a terrible feeling in my gut that 18 months from now they’re all going to be reinstated with back pay plus interest. And maybe damages.
The head of the Union is a white supremacist that welcomed 45 with open arms to the Target Center. He is a horrible human being.
50% of the police terminations in the Twin Cities are overturned and reinstated after arbitration. The union contract allows the racist piece of shit Union president to choose the arbitrator too.
I watched the video of his murder this morning, and I cried like an absolute baby. I was just shaking when I noticed him go quiet and you could see that peice of shit rocking his knee to apply further pressure. So patiently and calmly and ever so slowly he murdered a helpless man in the street in front of a crowd. Sick fuck.

Same. I just was sitting here sobbing and feeling sick.

It’s gutting. And when the civilians tried to help the cops were going to mace them. Those complete pieces of shit on a shoe will end up with another job in another dept.
It’s complete and utter bullshit. I also feel terrible for the people in the video. I can’t imagine how tragic it was being right there and pleading for them to get off and have nothing be done.
Just echoing everyone else. I am sick and angry. That video almost made me vomit.
What I won't say is that I'm "shocked." Rachel Cargle reshared this post from a couple of years ago, and it feels very appropriate now. (ETA - sorry it's so huge)
Jesus Christ....yes, yes and a motherfucking yes!! It is just a Wednesday in USofA for black people.
It isn’t shocking anymore people. It isn’t, though I appreciate most white people here. Most, Lol. I am including my white half in that sentiment
There are now fires all over that part of Minneapolis. I couldn’t sleep last night and I doubt I will tonight either.
These are my stores. I hear the helicopters still. I hear the shots fired and flash bangs.
So much unrest. So much anger. So much frustration.
An ATM was just blown up.
I’ve just seen some footage of the protests (called riots in headlines but to me it’s a protest I don’t know how to explain maybe I’m wrong). Things look really bad. Smashed up cop cars and hurt people.
The mayor called for charges. Against the officer murder.

Cue the people in my newsfeed "I mean this is awful, but why are they looting? Why are they rioting?" Notice they are NOT asking why racist cops keeps killing black people. This is reminding me of the Cincinnati riots. Here it is 2020 and not a damn thing has changed, hell it feels like things have only gotten worse.

I'm watching videos on twitter catching up on what happened overnight. The looting and fires seems to have stretched all along Lake street. Mayor Frey has called in the National Guard.
Have you read why they were arresting him? He was trying to pay with a suspected fake $20. Which could happen to anyone. I can't tell you how many times I've been given Canadian coins instead of USA mint coins. Should I call the cops on those stores?

Yep. The man was not violent and not doing anything to cause "fear" in the police officers. They have been emboldened by the lack of consequences others have received. They don't even feel the need to come up with an excuse to murder a black person.
Did anyone hear the part in the video where the woman said she was a Minneapolis firefighter and begging them to get off of him? The bystanders trying to intervene at one point and the cop taking out mace? Those poor people trying to ration with the assholes because they knew they would have the same fate if they tried to do anything other than use words.
Our nanny is a black man. My brother, father, and half the males in my family are brown men. This world is not a safe place for them. And not enough people care.
3 videos in the last 2 weeks. All the other incidents not caught on tape that happen daily. The racism and murder of innocent people will never stop.
