I am glad that Boris Johnson decided against visiting India and that they are now on the red list. Of course, it's only because of the reactions of the public - they don't actually do anything useful unless there is an uproar, which is why our lockdowns were such shit until November (and even then, he opened up Christmas like an idiot). I'm hoping that we can contain the small numbers of the Indian variant in London (they are trying hard to do a lot of test and trace stuff in those areas, plus encourage more vaccinations of the populations which may be infected - we're now at 45 yr+ or anyone with pre-existing conditions). Our numbers are quite amazing right now, so it'd be a shame if our gov't mess this up again.
Yikes. I also hope that we start to see the US doing more to help other countries vaccinate their populations. With the US expected to have a surplus of almost up to half a billion doses in July, I really hope to see the Biden admin working to redistributing that.
I got my antibody tests back from the LLS study, and I have no regular antibodies, but a good amount of the spike antibodies. Reading the test result sheet, regular antibodies are from natural infection and spike are from the vaccine. So woo! I am vaccinated and it worked!

Got my 2nd shot yesterday around 3pm. Woke up today feeling great. But now my skin hurts all over. I going to stop working at 12 and lay in bed. Worth it but ugh it has been so long since I have been sick, I forgot how sucky it is lol.

I was the same way. What is this sick feeling? lol.
My timeline was similar- 4pm shot, woke up tired but okay, hit a wall around noon. I had a low grade fever between 5-10pm, normal temp at 10:30pm and appetite came back raging around 11pm. I feel great today.
24 hours post second Pfizer shot and I have nothing but a sore arm. And very sadly no cheesecake craving.
Flu shots never affect me, so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised? It’s so interesting that some people react with chills/aches/low fever/etc. and other people feel nothing.
I'm nearly two days post second Pfizer shot and nothing. Flu shot never affects me at all either.
Two weeks post second shot, and I'm now street legal! WOOOOOOO!
MH hits the two week mark tomorrow and we're going away this weekend to celebrate. It's actually the same distanced, in-state trip we did 6 months ago but it feels exciting because we won't be in our house!

H was knocked out for a day with Moderna.
I had very little side effects from my second Moderna. I got it around 10am, then woke up the next morning around 3am with some chills and a slight headache, maybe a little nausea. Feel back asleep a couple hours later and felt totally fine. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop. I already drink a ton of water, but I drank more than usual and had a few glasses of Liquid IV drink mix.

Agree. We already have a supply issue. It’s time to redistribute. I know we need some for boosters but surely we can produce more when the time comes?
@@@ We obviously need some doses for kids, too.
Are kids eventually going to receive the same dose as adults? I don't disagree that we need to redistribute but assuming he same formula, I doubt the administration will do it before kids are vaccinated. America First didn't die (or start) with Trump.

Oh man. It got bad. Fever rose to 102 and basically didn't leave my bed until 8pm when I was finally starving.

Ouch! I only got up to 100.4 and I felt awful. I hope you're feeling better today and that was the worst of it!!

Same. I had a 102 fever starting the night of my shot for about 36 hours. It was a rough 2 days. I haven't really heard of anyone else having as bad a reaction. I got pfizer. I'm not looking forward to the eventual boosters.

I'm currently waiting for my second covid shot. DH and I ordered takeout from a restaurant near the pharmacy beforehand to celebrate and it took like 25 minutes longer to be ready than indicated so I'm currently sitting in a very busy Target parking lot eating a cheeseburger. Alone, in the passenger seat because DH had to go check in.
FWIW, medical definition of a fever is 100.4. Going through chemo, they drill that number into your head, as that is when you head to the ER, as it means you have an infection.
I can’t believe we are over a year into this and I just got into my first, in-person, fight with an anti-masker. Well, not much of a fight, he said something about what fauci said last March, I pointed out the beauty of science is we learn new information and adjust assumptions, and no one knew anything a year ago. Then, dropped the mic and walked home. This was at our marina, and epitomizes why I want to move one county over. We are over a year into things, and the HOA just now switched to zoom meetings.
I am in TX and have had various contractors do indoor and outdoor work the past year. I saw some work where people should have been wearing masks and eye protection to avoid breathing in dust or having sawdust get in their eyes, but they weren't wearing anything. I can understand runs on PPE could have been a cause, but not on eye wear and you can use shirts or bandanas to help cover your face. I honestly wonder if face coverings became political even for those that normally wear them.
Most recently I have had many estimates from contractors for indoor work and I immediately judge them if they don't have a mask on. I gave a carpet guy a paper mask today and I think he said he hadn't worn one in months. Of course he wore it below his nose the whole time.
I love my eyes so much that I wear safety goggles when doing electrical work or using strong cleaners (like lime away).
All this while I freak out about the new TX Brazos variant.
Note: None of my comments are directed at people that cannot wear a mask for medical or similar reasons.

I’m also having a bunch of contractors out for quotes. One guy whined that I asked him to wear a mask. Another took it off the minute they stepped outside even though I kept mine on. So annoying. I’m giving the work to the company that wore an N95 the whole time. It’s as good a reason to pick a contractor as any in these times.

Mine didn’t last that long (only about 8 hours about 24 hours later), but I was at 103.5 and it wouldn’t budge with advil, Tylenol, or a lukewarm bath. I was miserable and lethargic for a few more days. Then, about a week later, I developed pleurisy. No idea if it was related, but it was painful for another week. Moderna here. (My brother was worried because he hit 99.9...my mother warned me he had a “high fever.” Ha!)
