I searched and found an old post on this. There are some things that have been ruined so long that I'm guessing we don't remember like Bill Cosby, greek yogurt, Halloween candy, song lyrics (Baby It's Cold Outside, Blurred Lines,) quinoa, clothing donation, etc..
I remember almond and cashew milks, recycling, microbeads, fleece, and I know there are others.

What's wrong with Greek yogurt?
More acidic whey needs to be drained from Greek yogurt. During the height of the Greek yogurt craze there was too much whey and not enough places to safely dispose of it. When I was looking for a source, I found this: cen.acs.org/articles/95/i6/Acid-whey-waste-product-untapped.html. Maybe there's hope?
That’s an interesting take on things. Safety & kindness for some people equates to ruined for you. Huh. ::inserts the more you know rainbow here::
The question was what has CEP ruined for you, so I answered.
It did not say why.
Now if you would like to know why without making a bunch of assumptions, I would be more than happy to explain.
I take A LOT of notes throughout my day and have always used the @ symbol. Now when I reread my notes I always chuckle about my worlds colliding.
The only assumption I made was that it was ruined for you. Chuckling about how things intertwine isn’t what I’d call ruined. Perhaps you define the word differently?
I don’t believe I said anything harsh, but you’re defensive response says to me that maybe you didn’t think through your statement before hitting post. It happens. It seems you were going for playful, which is your call.
I was just thinking back over the posters that have benefited greatly from the simple use of the @ symbol on posts during some of their darker days. That’s all. I think you’ve been on here long enough to also care about those posters, and I doubt you were intentionally hurtful. But perhaps the realization that it might indeed be so would be worth a second thought on your statement. That’s all.

I can see someone feeling the symbol is ruined for her specifically because she associates it with underlying pain that is triggered by @ content (even if the symbol itself is for avoiding pain).
