MixedBerryJam, we have a litter robot. My H bought it years ago to make his life easier and loves it. I however I refuse to deal with it because the bathroom where we keep it isn't perfectly level so it's kind of finicky AF and if it's not perfectly balanced it will get stuck mid-cycle. The most I will do is hit the reset button if it's flashing a code.
When we first got it one of our cats was fascinated by it and figured out she could just pop her head in to trigger the cat sensor and then she wait and watch it run. It was running constantly the first couple of weeks because of her. LOL!
This is my experience too! The kitten uses it, then leaves, then when it activates she runs back to check it out; the sensor senses her, stops, and I have to reset. Then it starts and she runs back, etc etc etc.
I haven’t actually seen my older cat use it but she clearly does. They adapted to it much quicker than I expected.
Really I feel like they should hire me! I even gave them a shout out on Twitter! And they replied.

On Monday, I meet with my plastic surgeon to discuss my options for risk reducing mastectomy. Super nervous, but also ready to get a game plan together.
One of my childhood friends moved out of the country 12 years ago so i haven't seen her in person since then. She was in my neighborhood today for a professional obligation. We had lunch and got to hang out together. It was so fun!!
We were given some cloth diapers, which I've wanted to try, and I've spent HOURS over the past week in this city diapering FB group understanding exactly how to wash them - what detergent, wash cycle, water softener, quantity of water, etc. I swear I followed every instruction to the letter, and two hot water cycles later (as indicated) I'm pretty sure my entire washing machine now smells like pee.
I cloth diapered and there are SO many different ways to wash. In the end I went with the easiest one and only added steps if issues arose. My routine ended up being a quick cold water rinse, long hot wash, and line dry. I have hard water but never got build up so didn't add any softener. Do the diaper smell or just your machine?
I have been thinking of getting one for a long time. You just sold me on it. I can't wait to get it now!
My advice is to get the (And I cannot believe I am saying this) wifi and at least the steps. Climbing in seems okay but when they jump out it’s a bit jump down. I have a flat box of the right size at the moment that cuts the jump in half. Also I don’t think you need their special litter. The storage box for waste is too big for plastic grocery store bags but I’m sure I can find cheaper than theirs FYI. I went from Sunday to Thursday without emptying the box (two cats). It was def full but not a whiff of odor. I’ll prob empty the box 2-3x/week going forward and only left it so long this time too see how bad it could get. It’s really quite amazing.
The windows are almost done! My poor cat is terrified. At one point they were working on all 3 levels of our house, so he had nowhere to go that was truly quiet and away. He's shut in the bathroom in our basement and I'm sure he's traumatized, but at least he is safe.
They just closed the elementary school for my neighborhood/area for a week due to high symptomatic covid cases among kids and staff. We don't have kids, but to me it means our side of the county isn't doing what they need to do in terms of masking and getting vaccinated. We do have a mask mandate, but I have no clue how closely it's being enforced.
Kids are being sent home with laptops, and have to do an immediate switch to virtual. School started about 2wks ago.
This just further confirms our decision to quit eating out inside, and basically locking back down.

We use the Simply Purrfect Scoopable Cat Litter that we can buy at our Costco, which actually seems to work better with this box than the Scoop Away. When we bought the Scoop Away this last time and something about the weight of it kept throwing the box off balance every time my H would add more. We also use the 10 gallon Costco wastebag liners (the smaller clear ones), and those seem to work fine per my H.
I think the bin does get stinky, but my H deals with downstairs cat stuff (litter box, dry food, downstairs water), and I deal with upstairs cat stuff (pills, wet food, upstairs water, claw trims), and we are rarely in the designated cat bathroom so it's not a huge deal in our house. I only notice if I actually go into that bathroom, not just walking by, and only when it's getting close to needing the bags swapped. If it was in a more prominent location I think it could be solved by more frequent bag changes.

So I'm a PTA officer this year. Wednesday I had PTA teacher breakfast, then went to work. Yesterday I worked until 3, then went and worked open house and didn't get home until 8pm. Today I was back at school at 8:30 to try and organize all of our crap and throw out old stuff since we couldn't be the building last year.
Then after that I took my kid to run some errands and pick up donated PTA prizes.
I seriously am exhausted and not used to this much running around.

I went out yesterday after work on a "date" with an old guy friend from like 20 years ago. I haven't dated since my divorce 5 years ago so really out of the dating scene for 17 years. He found me on social media a few months back and we've been talking here & there. Talked for over 9 hours total this past weekend and hung out for almost 4 hours last night. We have a ton in common and similar viewpoints. He was a total gentleman and didn't try to make a move but admitted later when he called to make sure I made it home that he had wanted to so I know there is interest on his part. We had hooked up way back in the day but I ended up dating a mutual friend of ours and eventually lost contact with all of that group. So now I am struggling to figure out where I want it to go. I don't want to ruin the friendship but then again, what if I lose out because of that? THIS is why I hated dating even back in the day.

I say go for it. If you've only recently reconnected, there is no great loss if you lose the friendship - it's not like you've been best friends for 20 years. Unless you aren't interested for other reasons, I think it's worth the risk!
gretchenindisguise , I'm curious what they're wearing to protest. Short shorts? Spaghetti straps? Shirt with a logo or political phrase? I'm not sure what school dress codes prohibit these days.
Shorts that are shorter than mid thigh and a shirt that may have shown their mid-rift if they were taller and their shorts were lower and has too big of arm holes so you can see their sports bra (but may not be able to tell it's a sports bra and not a tank).
#rebel
They're actually fairly conservative in how they dress and what they are comfortable wearing, so that was part of my confusion that this was what they chose to put their energy behind.
Lol, sounds like they were probably close enough to the dress code that no one would make a big deal about it. Unless that is what they were trying to prove!

I agree with wildrice! If you feel a romantic chemistry with him, give it a shot!
I interviewed for a new job within my company today. While I definitely wouldn’t call it my dream job it’s much more in-line with what I want to do. Plus my current management is pretty toxic. I’m supposed to find out next week so I am keeping all my crossables crossed. I really need this.

Turns out they don’t enforce the dress code until week 3 🤣
And I definitely saw shorter shorts, midriffs and spaghetti straps at pick up. Mine came out with their “midriff” shirt tucked into their high waisted shorts lol.
I’m really curious what the enforcement is like. Seems like they are going to step up their game if they want to get dress coded, and I don’t think my kid is actually comfortable in those types of clothes.

If you hate dating for this reason, I think you have to take a step back and figure out if you even want to date. If the answer is no, that's ok. However, this is not a reason to hate dating - in fact, this is why most people actually date and hope for when they date - meeting someone that they click with and want to spend time with.

I just ran my machine's self-cleaning cycle, which it probably needed anyway, and luckily now nothing smells. Or rather the machine maybe smells a tiny bit if I fully stick my head inside, but I may also be going crazy haha. Thank you for sharing your process! The FB group says that if you don't use softener for hard water the minerals will stick in the diapers/inserts and end up bringing bacteria and smells, so I bought the softener.
I still need to figure out the actual diapering part though - we are 2 for 2 on massive pee leaks when in the car seat, I assume because of the pressure of the harness on the diaper. The FB experts said my microfiber and bamboo charcoal inserts aren't very good, and I should get hemp or regular bamboo instead, but I figured I'd try the ones we already have first.

I’ll keep you updated on #dresscodegatekinda
Would they be comfortable speaking to their school board? It might be a good exercise in democracy for them to write up some talking points and bring up their issues.
It might be easier than wearing a bikini to school 😂

I get way too inside my own head and over analyzing everything. But he’s definitely willing to go at whatever pace I’m comfortable with and though we are geographically challenged, he wants to make the effort. I think we just need to spend more time hanging out and just see where things go. We do have fun.
Good luck on Monday. I know from your posts you have certain risk factors; I hope this consult and or actions you take afterwards reassure you and keep you safe and healthy!

Thank you! I found out this week when I met with my breast surgeon, my risk is higher than I originally thought (likely higher than 50%) so it’s an easy decision to make. Mostly what I want to know is if I’m a candidate for the procedure I want which involves moving belly fat up to create breasts and if I need a reduction and lift first.

Oh, I have plenty of extra belly fat if you need more

Did he really make you spill a beer and not offer to get you a new one??? Any normal sports fan would feel bad and offer a replacement or money. Might he be able to order a replacement using the app and have it delivered to your seat?
