May I present my pride and joy. I happened to wander in on a restocking day and found him. I thought for sure I was SOL for this year.
Holy Moly - that is amazing!!! Where did you buy him?
@@@@ My daughter wants to buy all the huge Nightmare before Christmas huge statues at Home Depot right now - but they've got nothing on that big mamma jamma!
Home Depot! You don't realize how tall 12 ft is until you stand next to one of these. Last year they came out with a 12 ft skeleton, and this pumpkin was their big new product this year.
I just did an amazon search for a dementor mask to try to use that instead of my DIY and they are sold out. So i searched for ghoul masks with open mouths. Check out the results. Very CEP appropriate. hahahaha!

You guys are amazing!!! Love all the lawn decorations!
I love Halloween because my birthday is 2 days before :-P I'll am traveling to the US for a few weeks, but I'm actually flying back to Doha on Halloween so I'll miss all the fun! Still planning to enjoy the general halloween season before that!
We did a candy chute last year too, although our area was still pretty locked down so we didn’t get many kids. But the few we did loved it - it wasn’t as elaborate as Michelle’s (love your decorations, esp the hanging candles!) but we are definitely using it again this year. Our front yard is on a hill so the walkway to our front door has several sets of steps - we set up with some chairs and drinks mid-walkway and when ToTers came by, shot the candy down to them in the driveway. Easier for little kids in costumes and masks anyway so they don’t have to slog up the steps.
We used a few cardboard mailing tubes duct-taped together (wider diameter than pipe so it’s easier to get different types of candy down it, plus cheaper) and then covered up, terminating out of the mouth of a skull mask with a box underneath to catch stuff the kids miss.
The short people who live with me have requested a theme costume. I'm to be a spider web. Any suggestions for a spider web costume styling that will actually look cool? I'm picturing making a rope web that will attach to my wrists and drape like a cape/poncho?
or maybe I buy some of that cottony stuff and just dress in all black and drape it all over me so I'm a cobweb.
Other ideas? thoughts on how to amp up/clarify one of those two ideas?

Due to reading a book that has an ongoing motif of pop goes the weasel but had the lyrics to the whole nursery tune, it brought back memories. Specifically of the 1950s jack in the box toy my grandma had saved. We loved it, but it's really creepy af.
Please, someone, incorporate this into your Halloween yards. Pixy, you know I'm looking at you.

I have no desire to go Halloween costume shopping with my kid this year so I'm kind of hoping I can convince her to be Princess Peach because she already has a Peach costume.

Ha! There is a very specific clown/jack-in-the-box that I've been looking at for years. It doesn't really fit into our yard scheme, but I might start transitioning it to clowns/circus in the future.
I'm trying to get my admin team to be the main Ted Lasso characters. They don't seem into it, and now I feel like I should back into my "thinks Halloween is pretty stupid, actually" hidey hole. 😄

gonig with this one! except in white because it's a web. Materials in hand, just need to get it made. It's gonna be so comfy though. fleecy poncho cape situation over black leggings and a black shirt. done. Maybe with some creepy spidery makeup. Maybe. And a spider fascinator if I'm feeling REALLY frisky and crafty in the next two weeks. AND I can totally have a wear to work version of this with black work pants instead of leggings.
@@ in the same supply run I picked up stuffing, 2 pairs of black tights, a hoodie and googley eyes to make a spider costume for Shorti. it came out both adorable and slightly creepy. I'm pleased. Sizzli is spiderman because it was at costco and he wanted it.
I told MH he should be a fly to finish our our group, but couldn't come up with a low effort way to make that happen.
I made an executive decision that my kid was going to be Cat Boy. He still doesn't really understand dressing up for Halloween, so whenever I'd ask I'd get "Shark Dinosaur Witch Monster". Which would be cute to piece together, but I don't have enough brain space right now to do it.
I'm a web! I'm pretty happy with ease of execution and final product here. In today I learned: It's REALLY hard to take a full body shot of yourself in a cluttered-ass house on a dark rainy day.
Antoni from Queer Eye and his boyfriend dressed as LLR consultants complete with Girl Boss tattoo and the horrific Patrick pattern, and I love it. View Attachment
I saw his pic from the NYRP Hulaween last night but didn't get it (I probably should have read the clipboard). My friend from elementary school was there and he's basically the GOAT of Hulaween costumes. If you scroll through his insta you can see some of the past amazing costumes that he makes by hand.

Halloween is one of my favourite holidays ever - I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to get dressed up - and I'm so sad that I'm stuck in my bedroom today looking out window at the kids going around my neighborhoods.
