I'm placing an Instacart order for Costco groceries tonight. I'm so overwhelmed with cooking lately. Suggestions?
Here's what I'm thinking so far: - rotisserie chicken - Caesar salad - street tacos
What's good in the frozen section that's quick and protein heavy? Anything else you can suggest that I might not be thinking of?
Protein heavy breakfasts? I'm not a breakfast person but need to start eating something in the AM because I'm starting to get headaches from not eating until lunch.
Really liked the Yakisoba meal (like street tacos) but we left sauce on the SIDE. Worked well so people could control flavor. I also like the ravioli bake.
I liked the frozen orange chicken dinner but none of my kids did.
The frozen Costco broccoli is good and really convenient.
We do steelhead fillet from fresh fish area cooked at 400 about 20 minutes, with rice in the Instant Pot start at same time, and Costco salad or veggie.
We like the Jimmy Dean egg white & sausage patty English muffin sandwiches in the frozen section.
Fage yogurt with the Morning Summit cereal for breakfast...but the cereal has a lot of fat, sugar, and calories! But it's tasty and has a lot of almonds.
Main Street mashed potatoes and afore-mentioned broccoli make a nice meal with the chicken.
In their pre-made section we like the chicken enchiladas, chicken fettuccini and chicken noodle soup. In the refrigerated or frozen section: Turkey meatballs (if you can find them/they have them) Gyro meat (then we buy the mini naan to make gyros with. Spinach cheese ravioli (frozen, but also some in the deli area)
In the pre made section they have rotisserie chicken all cut up in a bag. I use it for soups and chicken pot pie and even make my own chicken salad with it
Frozen lasagna. It's not quick to cook, but quick as in no prep. Takes an hour to bake. Frozen broccoli. Frozen mahi mahi. Takes me like 10-13 min in the toaster oven, and defrosts really fast. I do that, broccoli, and make a thing of rice and it's a legit 30 min dinner. The coconut Thai veggie mix in the ref section is good.
Lots of the items mentioned above, plus the frozen salmon burgers, refrigerated mediterranean grilled chicken skewers, and refrigerated pulled pork are staples in my house.
The cooked chicken skewers are great. Refrigerated, not frozen. We love the stuffed peppers. You have to cook them, but you just pop the tray in the oven.
I love the street tacos, tabbouleh salad, Mediterranean chicken akewers, chicken apple brats, rotisserie chicken (I bring it home, remove the meat and then use the carcass to make chicken broth), gyro meat, Jimmy Dean egg sandwiches, waffles.
Hah, I was in costco today to get meds for my dog and I was interrogating a woman about her cart items bec she had these premade pans of meals to cook in the oven that looked so good. I don't actually have a membership but that might need to change. I was thinking on my way out that I should ask you guys for your go-to items. Good timing!
Canada so might be different. We are fans of the butter chicken and manicotti ready meals, plus Kirkland lasagna. I also like the bibigo dumplings but they haven't had my favourites (japche) in in a long time. I hate how sometimes things that I like just disappear from Costco. They used to have falafels and mini tacos and now they are gone, gone. And I am bereft.
There’s a lemongrass chicken in the refrigerator section that can be frozen and it’s really tasty. Pair with some rice and veg and you’re good to go.
Kevins! I forgot about them. They rotate through the specific option (lemongrass, Korean bbq, Thai curry, etc). All the ones I've tried are great. We usually add a cup of peas to the sauce stage and nuke a bibigo rice and are set.

Yeah! I'll have to try the other options. This was the first time I've had it. I was really impressed though.
Just a FYI, many of the things people recommend may or may not be at your local store. I follow 2 costco IG accounts and they post stuff, I got to Costco, sad face because we don't have it.
It may be a west coast/east coast thing. For example, mine doesn't have the breakfast sandwiches or the ones that are supposed to be just like the Starbucks bacon and gouda.
So since you're not going yourself, you may have some trouble.

We just got a Costco membership and we tried the Kevin's Korean BBQ (I think). It was *so* good! We added steamed broccoli and made it a stir fry and it was a super easy dinner. I think we added a little soy sauce because it needed a little more salt. But I plan to go back and try their other offerings! They were doing a sample of an indian cauliflower dish that was really good too.
Everything we bought was actually really good! We got the cooked turkey (in the refrigerator section) and it was delicious and so easy. The kids loved it! We might do that for Thanksgiving.
I'm making a list of all the suggestions for the next time we go! We are going to need a bigger fridge.
