Jamison and Bexley- Central Ohio black mom owned! She did our custom order for our March of Dimes walk last spring! Sheβs wonderful to work with! jamisonandbexley.com/
The two men who own it graduated with my sister and are a married couple - theyβve made their shop a safe space for LGBTQIA youth and others in the community who otherwise may not have one.
If youβre ever in southeast Kansas, I recommend stopping by - they also sell a variety of things from local artisans from pottery to decorations and more.
Awesome local spice shop. I was so excited to see them on uncommon goods recently (also a great website for handmade/local stuff/hard to buy for people).
For adult books, this shop was the first feminist oriented bookstore in Atlanta. It is a non-profit, that is now on the campus of Agnes Scott College, a women's college. It is very well curated. They, also, have a fair number of really well done zoom author events. I have joined talks with Temple Grandin and Toni Tipton-Martin this year. www.charisbooksandmore.com/
For pottery, this is my friend's women owned business. She has some beautiful pieces, and is always coming up with new designs. She made my daughter a mug with a drawing of her childhood lovey, an animal, on it is, since now that she is a teen, she still loves him, but he is getting quite old. I can't wait to give it to her. www.etsy.com/shop/newrelic?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=1094143595
We just went Memphis and found a super cute bakery/boutique called Primas. It's Latina/female owned. She had some super cute items, and they do some fun digital designing. www.shopmucho.com/
Does anyone have. A recommendation for a jelly/ jam place?
I like to order my aunt a jelly sampler each Christmas. I usually get from stonewall kitchen but would love to support an independent shop instead.
I'm a big fan of the various preserves options (and just about everything they sell, honestly) from Cherry Republic, which is local to me here in Michigan: cherryrepublic.com
