My consolidation loan just went through. First step, done! It looks like I can't fill out the PSLF form yet since I'm part of this limited waiver program and haven't made any direct loan payments. The website keeps telling me that it will be updated soon to reflect the limited waiver stuff. So, I'm going to try to be patient and not check the website 100 times a day, hahaha.
Does anyone know if your repayment status has to coincide with the years of service.
I worked at a public university when PSLF started in 2007 but didn't start paying on my loans until March 2013.
I left the university and had a break in employment that would count until June 2018.
Will the years I worked from 2007-2013 count as years of service or just after I started paying the loans?
As I understand it (someone please correct me if I'm wrong) it's number of payments made while working for a qualified employer.
Yes - it has to coincide with working with a qualified employer. They'll look at your employee certifications first and then will look at your loan payment history second.

You have to both be working for a qualified employer AND your loans have to be in repayment status. So if they were deferred until 2013, that's when your clock starts.

I checked the PSFL help form today and it's been updated to account for folks like me who are part of the limited waiver. So I filled it out, downloaded the pdf of the employment certification forms, and sent them to my employers (i've had 6 employers since 2007). I figured out who to send them to, and already have 3 of them back. 1 is pending, but I know they are working on it b/c they emailed me with a question, 1 is waiting for the signer to come back from the holiday next week, and 1 is my current employer and I just sent it 5 minutes ago, haha.
I'm in shock that 1, I can even attempt this and 2, the ECF process is going as smoothly as it is. So, as my H said, fingers crossed for a Christmas miracle, LOL!
Our Informed delivery notifications go to H and he jut told me that there is a letter coming today. PLEASEPLEASEPLEASE let it be positive news!
My letter was just informing me that they recieved my application and will begin looking in to qualifying payments and employment verification. So not huge news but I'll take any forward motion!
Employment verification is super easy because I've only ever worked at one University. I am going to give a heads up to the person in HR that signed my form though just to make sure nothing gets hung up there!

I got a notice saying my ECF is missing information. And another notice today saying they accepted my ECF and are transferring my loans back to FedLoan (they were in the process of being transferred from FedLoan to Mohela).
I submitted for 4 different positions from 2007-2020, but the forms don't say which ones are missing information. I called and think I figured out that the signature from my job from 2012-2020 was incorrect - he used a digital signature and it needs to be wet ink. Working on getting that fixed, but I'm pretty sure he's out this week for Thanksgiving.
Hopeful that once I get that new wet ink signature, I will be good to go.
eta: my guy was in the office today and resent with wet ink. I reuploaded everything into fedloan as one complete file with all 4 of my ECFs. Fingers crossed this does the trick.

Got another letter today telling me that I have the right kind of loans and my employment was certified and they're transferring my loans to calculate number of payments!! Which if I'm right I'm beyond the 120 payments - I feel fairly confident I'm right. Getting closer y'all!
I'm so giddy at the thought of being done with these loans - especially since I've already paid more than the original loan amount!!
Please, please, please let this all work out!!!!!!!

bex1973 that’s awesome! How long ago did you submit? I’m so anxious for forward motion!
Here's my current timeline: 10/something... I snail mailed my pslf application 10/28 FedLoan states my loans are transferring. 10/29 FedLoan states they received my pslf application. 11/13 Mohela emails and states my loan transfer has started. 11/22 FedLoan gave me results that said I needed to fix an ecf and give me 60 days to do it 11/23 FedLoan states pslf employment approved and loans will be transferred back to FedLoans (I have 4 employers, one didn't have wet ink signature) 11/23 I submitted new ECF with wet ink signature

I got a letter saying that I work for a qualified employer, but I need to transfer my loans. They are currently with Moehela and need to go to Fed Loan servicing. I’ve been searching the websites, but can’t figure out how to do this. Has anyone transferred their loans? Will this change once Fed Loans is no long involved?

I got that letter too. I'm also with Mohela. I read it as they would have the transfer process. I believe I've read that in multiple places but someone please chime in if I'm wrong!!

Yes, it should auto-transfer to FedLoan. I'm in this boat too, currently with Mohela (my fedloans were transferred there in November, days before they approved my employment :::shakes fist:. I don't believe there is anything to do but wait it out.
There were some rumblings that Mohela will be the new PSLF servicer, but nothing official has come out and I'd rather just be with FedLoan because as crappy as they are - at least they've done PSLF before.
Question for those of you who have submitted the PSLF application - how long did it take for you to hear anything?
I faxed in my application and am just waiting to hear something/anything.
pumpkin my coworker who couldn’t open a FedLoan account yet faxed and got a letter of acknowledgment in a few weeks, but she did it in October. Hang in there!

It was 3 weeks from the time I submitted the application until I got a letter saying they received it. It was another month before they confirmed that my employer was the correct kind and now I’m waiting for them to transfer my loans so they can tell me how many payments I’ve made.
I’ve been a teacher for 13 years, and took the teacher loan forgiveness ( special Ed title 1 school) 5 years in. I know that restarted my clock, and it will be close to see if it makes sense for me. I’m super curious as to what my number of payments are. Is anyone else seeking forgiveness after already having partial forgiven?

wildrice any updates for you? Several are reporting forgiveness after a recent denial. It seems as though there was another batch of forgiveness this evening.
I'm having serious fomo. I feel like if fedloan hadn't transferred my loans maybe I would have been in this batch.

I got the teacher forgiveness 3 years ago, so we will see. I HIGHLY doubt I will benefit from the PSLF program, but I’m proceeding forward anyway.

No, unfortunately! Nothing has changed, not even a single payment since I asked them to review it. How annoying! I am glad some are seeing progress, but I am getting impatient!

Oh man I was really hopeful for you. I hope it comes through soon!
By the looks of the Facebook group it looks like another big round of forgiveness just went through. Fingers crossed that means some of us are getting closer to getting a decision!!!
I got notification today via email that my loans have been consolidated to direct loans. I need to wait a few days (at least) for all the systems to catch up to one another but then, I will apply for PLSF. At least, this is a step in the right direction.

That's awesome! No news for me yet sadly. All the info I've gotten so far has come snail mail - I need to try to set up an account on Fed Loans but just haven't yet.
I logged in to Mohela yesterday and everything looks the same
Navient looks the same for me (I'm really hoping to miss my December payment in this transition) but the emails came directly from FedLoans. Set up that account. At the least, you can drive yourself crazy checking for updates and seeing them before they hit snail mail.
