Hearing loss doesn't turn you into a bumbling idiot.
Plus you can clearly see he’s wearing hearing aides when they’re at the farmer’s market. Annoying because I wear one on one side and am far from a bumbling idiot. Most of the time anyway.
It’s ok if the connection isn’t there for them anymore but stop making it about Steve being old and clueless.
Also i was relieved when Anthony said “you’ve got one more” regarding Carrie saying her H died. I’m sure IRL we would all be far more sensitive to this but we don’t all have a friend that self absorbed.
No real comment on the drunk/puke scene except to say I can see how two recently widowed people could overserve themselves without realizing it. She clearly puked because he did.
I also think her unhappiness is making all that happened in her past not that great. If the sex was not good or great, she would not have been with Steve, not to mention she loves him.

And like she was trying to recreate what happened with Che.
“With sorrow—for this Court, but more, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection—we dissent,”
I'm not done this episode yet, but just - I think they did much better with Steve this week and yes, he did that whole scene so well, it was pretty heartbreaking. And then when Miranda was like "I didn't make him feel bad." WTF of course you did.
Also WTF to Carrie just walking into her neighbor's apartment?
I just watched. We can all agree Miranda is going to get a big and not good surprise when she gets to Cleveland right? Che already said that they don't do normal relationships. I don't see this going well.
Coincidentally, I'm watching S5E1 of the original and Miranda just said, "Steve's a friend, not a core shaker." in a conversation about great loves. Mmm-hmmm.

I don't know, if music was playing that loud, she knocked and no one answered and the door was open, I can understand why she went in. That part didn't seem that weird to me.
Again, I'm annoyed by the almost "doe-eyed innocence" these women keep giving us. This time, Miranda all shocked at Che's reaction to her not being in an open marriage. And then her almost cavalier attitude about being so in love with Che, having this affair now for over 3 weeks, etc - when she was DEVASTATED over Steve cheating on her.
I took her comment, TR, about not making him feel bad to mean that she made it about herself. It wasn't him, it wasn't what he does or doesn't do in their marriage - she didn't make it about anything he's done "wrong". IT's about her changing and not being happy. She hurt him, but she feels she didn't make him feel bad about himself in the process.
and OH YES! @princessbubbleyum I agree. I think Miranda will be in for a big shock in Cleveland. I dont' think she REALLY heard Che when they said they aren't into traditional relationships. Miranda is thinking "lesbian" when I suspect Che is thinking "open". OR - because Miranda hadn't yet left Steve, Che felt there is no relationship yet to stay faithful to.
Carrie walking into the apartment - didn't seem weird to me. Door was open, music was blaring. I would have walked in too.

I get that she thinks that, but you can tell someone "it's not you it's me" until you're blue in the face, but when you're saying "our life isn't enough for me" and "I've met someone"....ehhhh.
I think the part that makes the apartment entering weird is that if that had been me I would’ve been knocking and saying hello as I was going inside so as to not startle anyone. Carrie just walked in there like a creeper, looked at some stuff, and then snuck out.

The only thing I like about Miranda is her hair. I am so ready for her to get to Cleveland and see Che with someone else. She’s always been shitty to Steve. Broke his heart and then jumped in a cab gleefully saying she was in a Rom Com. Carries comment to her about the reality of being alone was definitely foreshadowing.
I’m glad Steve finally got some airtime…? But really, Miranda is just seeming like a self-centered ass. I think she’s about to embark on a lot of alone time.

Actually - this kind of circles back around to my annoyance. On one hand, I "get" what she's saying. SHE feels that because she didn't make it about him, she didn't make him feel bad. But you're right - reality is she told him their life sucks, and as he's a big part of that life... well, how can it not be him on some level?
Which goes back to the doe-eyed innocence of a 55 year old woman acting all brand new to relationships....

Yeah, it was more how she acted in there. She wasn't calling out to make sure everyone was ok. She could see the girl was sleeping there and then stayed a bit and looked at stuff.
I went into a neighbor's apartment once, actually. It was a house broken into 4 apartments and she was the only other apartment on the second floor. When I walked into the hallway it was really cold and I saw that it was because her apartment door was wide open and she had at least one window wide open (it was winter). Her car was parked outside like usual. So I called into the apartment and got no answer so I decided to go in and man, I was sure I was going to find a dead body in the bathroom or something. But nada. She just wasn't there. I pulled the door shut behind me when I left. I guess someone had picked her up for a trip? We didn't talk, really, so I never asked her about it.

I am glad that Miranda is finding her true self but she’s acting like an insecure teenager not the confident take no shit from anyone woman from Sex and the City. And I get it’s probably difficult to go from thinking you’re straight to realizing you’re gay but damn. Also, I don’t like that Che is the person for Miranda. I feel like it’s going to be another Big type of relationship. Emotionally unavailable.
Speaking of, I have binging that show. I miss Samantha (thought I like Seema who has seemingly replaced her). The women were really quite passive aggressive towards her. They clearly judged her open sexual being. I wonder if a lot of it was a reflection of how SJP felt about her. I am probably reaching real far thinking that.
Did they show dicks in the original series? At the risk of sounding like a ‘doe eyed’ prude I was surprised that they showed them. It didn’t bother me, I just wasn’t expecting it. It’s been years since I watched it but I don’t remember much male nudity in the original.
Also now that I think of it I think I watched mostly as reruns on TBS or similar cable so they probably just edited it out.

no, they never showed dicks before. I was surprised at that too!

A few years ago, the neighbors below my apartment set off our smoke alarms. I went to their apartment to see what was going on and nobody answered the door, but the door was unlocked and only the screen door was closed so I could see straight into their kitchen. I walked in to see if 1) I could turn off whatever was burning and 2) if anyone was home. Of course, I accomplished nothing because they didn't answer my yelling (they were passed out in their bedroom) and I wasn't sure what was going on with the smoke, but anyway. I guess that's weird but also sometimes you just need to figure out what's going on.

They showed Richard Wright's as he dove into a pool in the original series. It was brief!!

I feel like investigating a possible fire is a little different from loud music lol
Okay but WTF actually happened when Miranda tried to initiate sex with Steve? Could he not get it up? Was it just bad sex? I need more info lol.
The take I got from it was she was trying to recreate when she had with Che was he was fingering her but because he isn’t Che she was not getting aroused and it was very dry. He offered to get lube and she was just like nah, let’s finish meal prepping.

When Charlotte discovered Lilly's photos, I thought that was a pretty real moment of what teenagers do, but I didn't understand why they set up that Lilly was going to talk to Carrie about "her side" of the story with her and then they didn't follow up with it in a scene at all. The only thing I can think is that the cast has A LOT of players in it and showing all these scenes with EVERYONE EVERYWHERE is a lot.
When the neighbor's boyfriend "dropped" his towel. That was intentional. He was an asshole.
I watched the last two episodes back to back so I might be confusing some stuff, but for some reason I thought the interaction and lines with Anthony--telling the story of how he shit himself on the date were pretty funny and then when Carrie made him go off to see if her date had left, I also found that funny.
wambam, I think that MIRANDA couldn't get it up. It seemed like she was trying to recreate the moment with Steve she had with Che and all the sudden she realized she wasn't and couldn't be attracted to him (or men? IDK) anymore and he knew it too.
When Miranda said she didn't make Steve feel bad, I was like "false." I thought Steve brought up really good and true points about their relationship over the years and how Miranda had treated him. I liked that...basically we see the relationship from Miranda's POV but she's not necessarily a reliable narrator and we rarely--RARELY hear Steve's perspective and there it was: then it almost instantly flipped back to hers and the audience could very easily ask themselves "is this correct?" "I bet he is super hurt."
I was a little surprised that the show is setting up Che and Miranda in a relationship. Are they going to end up together somehow?
I’m going to stand by the idea that you can be sex positive and not tell your child that she caught you about to give her dad a blow job.
I was thinking about what I would do if one of my kids caught us that way. I am not sure I would have this need to talk to them about it. I mean, if they ask sure but that situation seemed unnecessary and awkward.
