When Charlotte discovered Lilly's photos, I thought that was a pretty real moment of what teenagers do, but I didn't understand why they set up that Lilly was going to talk to Carrie about "her side" of the story with her and then they didn't follow up with it in a scene at all. The only thing I can think is that the cast has A LOT of players in it and showing all these scenes with EVERYONE EVERYWHERE is a lot.
When the neighbor's boyfriend "dropped" his towel. That was intentional. He was an asshole.
I watched the last two episodes back to back so I might be confusing some stuff, but for some reason I thought the interaction and lines with Anthony--telling the story of how he shit himself on the date were pretty funny and then when Carrie made him go off to see if her date had left, I also found that funny.
wambam, I think that MIRANDA couldn't get it up. It seemed like she was trying to recreate the moment with Steve she had with Che and all the sudden she realized she wasn't and couldn't be attracted to him (or men? IDK) anymore and he knew it too.
When Miranda said she didn't make Steve feel bad, I was like "false." I thought Steve brought up really good and true points about their relationship over the years and how Miranda had treated him. I liked that...basically we see the relationship from Miranda's POV but she's not necessarily a reliable narrator and we rarely--RARELY hear Steve's perspective and there it was: then it almost instantly flipped back to hers and the audience could very easily ask themselves "is this correct?" "I bet he is super hurt."
I was a little surprised that the show is setting up Che and Miranda in a relationship. Are they going to end up together somehow?
No way Che and Miranda do a relationship. They explicitly said to Miranda they don’t do traditional relationships.
Is this is supposed to have more than one season? They are introducing a lot of stuff and characters for just one season.
ive wondered the same thing. A lot of new people with their own stories that are being introduced ….
If itbwill be more than one season, then, ok. Hopefully these stories will grow and it will all come together.
If it’s one season, why are we spending time on people and stories that are brand new and wont develop?
And charlotte and Lily? Good lord. Charlotte can’t help but make everything super awkward, can she? Why is witnessing a blow job a “let’s go out to lunch and discuss this really awkward topic IN PUBLIC???” Thing??
I’m going to stand by the idea that you can be sex positive and not tell your child that she caught you about to give her dad a blow job.
Also remember in the original Charlotte didn't like to give blow jobs? Had that one guy she dated and the relationship ended over ut
Are you taking about the episode where she was grossed out by the uncircumcised penis (which shouldn’t need to be said, but was super gross and goes back to that body shaming that the 90s were so famous for)?
I don’t remember another one where she talked about BJs, even though I just watched the entire series. Lol

I just watched this episode but I am pretty sure she talked about not liking bjs in another episode.

I read that only one season was ordered and they were in talks for a second season when the Noth news broke so they stopped. A little weird since he died in the show but maybe the plan was to have a lot of flash backs?
But it wasn’t planned as a miniseries or anything. Most shows are produced and written as if there are going to be more seasons and hope for a pick up of a second season after they air.

Ah maybe when they were at brunch.
I just googled. It was season 1. Charlotte was dating a guy that wanted her to give him a bj but she keep refusing and to the ladies at brunch she hated doing it.

IDK, I'm sure this happened but oh well, I will say a lot of things about Charlotte, but her character HAS changed over the years. Just because she didn't like giving blow jobs to a guy she dated for a little while (or one time) in season 1 doesn't mean she wouldn't like giving them to Harry--who she clearly adores. We are giving space for Miranda to explore her entire sexuality and Rock to explore their (I wrote "her" at first out of habit) gender, I think it's okay for Charlotte to grow into parts of her own sexual choices as well.
Miranda is blowing her marriage up and is then going to have her heart broken by Che.
and i hope the writers give her some maturity and allow her to basically say “well, shit. This sucks. But it’s best that I’m out of my marriage so i can figure myself out” and NOT make her try to crawl back to Steve.

This is what I was thinking would happen. She’ll go to Che and get her heart broken and then crawl back to Steve.

I know. I think there is a big part of her that will always wonder if there is something better or more passionate or more whatever. Or it is like she cannot accept that what they have is actually really special. It has been a pattern of her fighting that they are really good together.

The problem is that if they give her some maturity now we’ll all have to believe she suddenly matured overnight. She’s acting like a child with this whole Che situation. She’s acting like a desperate, needy teenager and it’s annoying as fuck

I don’t know, plenty of people figure out the affair partner is a real human being with flaws, and go crawling back to their partners with their tail between their legs. I think they’ve been building a storyline that Miranda wants more passion in her life. She might decide she can never have that with Steve, because she is actually is gay. I’ve seen this play out both ways over and over in middle age, so it seems pretty realistic to me.
I still miss Samantha. A friend said they should do a spin-off show of her in London, and I would totally watch that.

It was a really small moment, but I was both heart broken for Nya and her sweet husband and also laughed for them when it came out she got her period and they almost bumped into that couple in the street...
"They have a toddler!"
🥴
I wish the show would lean into them a little more.

I’m talking about how Miranda is acting immature about her feelings for Che. She’s “in love” after three weeks of nothing but fucking Che. She doesn’t know them. When Miranda talks to them she’s all desperate and needy and whiny. That’s immature. Going back to Steve is not what I was citing as immature behavior (if she does that).
I have stopped watching as even hate watching isn't satisfying.
But I am still reading all about it. I go back to my original complaint. This is a reboot. We want to visit old friends and catch up. Why did all of these big life events have to be presented in the most awkward, miserable way possible? Why did we have to see them as bumbling idiots now that they are old? I find it really insulting.
We could have seen Miranda explore her sexuality in a much more different way. More joy mixed with awkwardness. And maybe some sadness if her marriage was dissolving in real time. But jeez they have just taken her character to ever single extreme and stereotype. I don't care how "real" it is. I don't want to see real when I am watching a throw away show lol. And this observation goes for each character.
It does feel like the writers don't know the original characters.

And
She sure resolved that alcohol problem all neat and tidy! Now, maybe her inevitable heartbreak will lead her back to drinking, but for anyone who has struggled with drinking too much, it ain’t that easy!
omg I had already forgotten about that! This show is so ridiculous.

Especially since the primary audience for this has to mainly be women over 40 who watched SATC when it first aired. I can’t imagine it is a big draw for 20somethings.

Why insult your viewers?
Maybe they're trying to make us feel better because we aren't bumbling idiots? idk. It's very odd.
Well. We definitely keep coming back to this show vs The Witcher and Henry Cavill lol. And Yellow jackets. Where they ate someone. 😫
Only b/c there are still new episodes coming out! I wish with my whole being there was more of The Witcher to watch!
Last night I was so bored with TV and almost started a rewatch.
It's been a week and a half since I watched it the first time lol. Also random: my brother told me when the Witcher first came out "you have to watch this!!" And I watched the first 10 min and was literally "fuck no, this is so dumb, I cannot understand it"
Now, two years later, 10 min in: "I understand everything. Yes, the witcher is hot."
Idk if it was the place I was at or what but I know my perspective on the show has changed! 😆

Yes this. There's only so much to talk about once a season has ended lol. I liked Yellowjackets WAY more than this.
I understand that and I was really just kidding 🙂.
I will say that there is a lot of press around AJLT... and one of the topics discussed is "is the show bad or really good bc its facilitated so much conversation?" 🤷♀️

I already stopped watching, so spoil it for me - how did she stop drinking? Just read that book that showed up one day and bam, she was cured?

To stop drinking, you merely pour all the alcohol down the drain and say “I’m done!” - Miranda Hobbes
EDIT: “Miranda Hobbes” or Miranda Hobbes v2.0. Or “whoever this is.”
