She sure resolved that alcohol problem all neat and tidy! Now, maybe her inevitable heartbreak will lead her back to drinking, but for anyone who has struggled with drinking too much, it ain’t that easy!
I already stopped watching, so spoil it for me - how did she stop drinking? Just read that book that showed up one day and bam, she was cured?
I'm not even sure she read the book! It was finished in that same episode. After blaming Charlotte for sending it to her anonymously and trying to get Carrie on her side- saying something along the lines of "I would be the first person" to know/put a stop to the drinking she got an Amazon prompt to leave a review for the book. That Miranda ordered, seemingly while drinking, and forgot. She dumped out all her alcohol and it's never been an issue since.
I don’t know, plenty of people figure out the affair partner is a real human being with flaws, and go crawling back to their partners with their tail between their legs. I think they’ve been building a storyline that Miranda wants more passion in her life. She might decide she can never have that with Steve, because she is actually is gay. I’ve seen this play out both ways over and over in middle age, so it seems pretty realistic to me.
I still miss Samantha. A friend said they should do a spin-off show of her in London, and I would totally watch that.
I’m talking about how Miranda is acting immature about her feelings for Che. She’s “in love” after three weeks of nothing but fucking Che. She doesn’t know them. When Miranda talks to them she’s all desperate and needy and whiny. That’s immature. Going back to Steve is not what I was citing as immature behavior (if she does that).
Oh, I absolutely agree with you! She's being ridiculous. It's just a realistic kind of ridiculous that happens time and again. Even just this week, here, we've seen it. People think that feeling, based on some limited, ideal encounters, is everything, when really it's the Steves of the world, who are willing to put up with your shit, who are the keepers.

There is so much smoking in this show. Why? All I think is how gross it is.
i feel like they are trying to keep that link to the original series, where Carrie smoked a LOT.
For the fact that they are trying to be more relevant and bringing in so many 2020 issues, i find it odd to keep that going. Especially Seema lighting up IN Carries apartment. In the 90’s, sure, maybe. But today? You don’t just do that!!
Literally 30 seconds into episode 9 and are we just skipping over what happened when Miranda went to surprise Che?
ETA: I'm going to running commentary this. No way would the neighbor be like "Oh that's so pretty, what is it?" to a plain silver wedding band. I get they wanted to bring the conversation up, but not natural at all.
I hate that episode 9 made me - a staunch feminist - think on multiple occasions "Jesus Miranda/Charlotte/Carrie are so fucking shrill" Why were they screaming the whole time??
I was sure that Charlotte was pregnant until the end.
“With sorrow—for this Court, but more, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection—we dissent,”

OMG Anthony in the jumpsuit lol
yes!! If the neighbor had just said “oh, is that a wedding band? I didn’t realize you were marrried” would have made more sense!!
This episode didn’t annoy me AS MUCH! And I’m glad that Steve - just Steve as he is - was in this. And not bumbling fool Steve.
I agree that between the last episode and this one they are doing much better with Steve's character. He's the steady, sweet guy he was in the original.

I had all these same thoughts. When the neighbor said that about Carrie’s ring I was ‘uhh it’s just a plain band’ but maybe because she’s a jewelry designer she sees the beauty in simple pieces. I don’t it was weird.
Also ‘I am not sleeping with anyone else right now’ RIGHT NOW!?!?! Seriously? MIRANDA!!!! Use your head.
Charlotte and Lily were cute (and a bit over the top). I had a similar thing happen between me and my stepmom with her saying ‘I draw the line at putting it in for you’ lol
Something else they completely gloss over is, how does Brady feel? We’re supposed to think he has no opinion or feelings about his parents splitting up?
I am rewatching the last season of the original season just to remind myself why I was once fond of this series. SO GOOD
Like the scene where Samantha is talking about her cancer and Carrie has clearly been cheerleading/bright siding things and Sam is like "Carrie can you just sit here with me as I talk about what I am scared of." Such a real moment that was captured so well. A moment all of us could feel and relate too.

This is a part of my frustration. They have brought in SO MANY new characters that they don't have time to actually really focus on the people we want to know more about.
And I think I said this before - with the new characters, I wish they had written one or two of them in a way that they aren't BRAND NEW friends, but friends who have clearly been around for awhile and have already started to mesh w/ the 3 ladies.
What happened to Carrie’s new waterfront apartment? Why does she have a bookshelf literally right where her head would rest behind her bed? I kept waiting for her to hit her head.
Che singing and dropping that news on Miranda? And Miranda just agreeing to it??? WHAT? Is Miranda not going to tell her kid ever that she’s in a relationship with Che?
Anthony kills me… “I’m not sure if they’re Jewish but they’re all cut” 🤣
I love how they’ve kept Samantha “in it” even though she’s not physically there.
The podcast producer got way hotter in this episode 😍
Overall, I liked this whole show more than I expected. I hope they bring it back for another season.
