Interesting take! Someone told me it's rumored that things are going to come out about Big that aren't good.
My friend's husband is hoping for a storyline that Big was friends with Jeffrey Epstein.
TWTWTWTW
Articles that came out yesterday indicate Chris Noth is a bad man and a criminal. Seems like perfect timing to have him off the show with his alleged crimes coming out. He is not being charged with anything actually, but they are still crimes in my book.

Ugh. So infuriating. Why are there so many evil men?

Idk. I watched the last one and maybe it was marginally better than the other two. Carrie stalking Natasha was weird and went on too long before they had a resolution and it was boring that there was really nothing there to delve into…maybe something will come out of that later in the season. I cannot stand Miranda. I don’t remember hating the characters so much. I would like to see where Che and Miranda end up, but I do like Steve even though Brady is insufferable.
This third episode was a bit better. Charlotte continues to be the worst (or maybe that was from the second ep. I watched them both today, but her constant making everything about her was getting old). I thought Carrie stalking Natasha was weird, but so was Natasha still being SO angry. It's been 15+ years!
I lol'd a bit at them stuffing yet another social issue in (Charlotte's youngest being non-binary).
Still curious why so much focus on Big's secretary.

The third episode was interesting in that it addressed that even though Big and Carrie achieved happiness eventually that happiness was still built upon a foundation of Carrie always feeling kind of insecure about their relationship and that he always had a private side he kept from her that included everything from dogs to financial decisions to..lovers (?) And that private side really bothered her.
Also, I thought it was interesting that Charlotte of all people was comforting Carrie. Telling her that her and Big were the happiest couple she knew. Did she not remember when she screamed a curse (accurately) at Big when she was 9 plus months pregnant that he had ruined Carrie's life? Lol.
Also, I wish one or two episodes were from Ches pov.
I have changed my mind on Miranda and Steve. I used to relate to their relationship being steady, comfortable, and based on friendship while not being explosive. But now I see them as settling because they had a kid and that is very sad for them. No sex for YEARS and they’ve never even talked about it?? All while their kid is fucking on any solid surface in their house?
I actually like the Rose gender identity story. That’s definitely a more natural instance of social issues than basically anything else.
Also, I bought a Peloton this week lol. I’ve been considering it, but the first ep put the idea back in my head.
Still curious why so much focus on Big's secretary.
I wonder if they're leading up to some sort of previously unknown child of Big's. Maybe not with the secretary but could be with someone she knows, or he told his secretary about it and swore her to secrecy? Or maybe he didn't even know. He seemed the kind of guy who would potentially have fathered a child and not known.

Maybe she’s been making his child support payments for him all this time.

As someone who just turned 50, I loved all of the original shows and was super excited for this. I love the new shows too! it’s like visiting old friends and so cool to see the characters now. I love the outfits, the makeup, the storylines. . . I am here for all of it!
wambam I never felt like Steve and Miranda were based on friendship. She thought she was above him from Day 1. It seemed like the only time she truly wanted him is when he had that trashy other girlfriend and she was with the hot Knicks doctor around Brady's first birthday.
I haven't seen this reboot but felt the need to chime in about that.

You’re probably right. It’s been 10+ years since I’ve watched the original series. Maybe cooperation is a better word?
Episode 4 is feeling a little more like the old show. Although all three still seem a little out of touch.
Not sure I'm loving where they are going with Stanford's storyline but I guess there aren't a lot of choices.
I'm amazed at the before and after apartment remodeling. I'm rewatching just to see the before and after again. Cause shoot...maybe really ornate wallpaper is what I'm missing in my life.
And I'm predicting something between Carrie and the...station manager? Program manager? I'm not sure who he is - but there's this guy that is always lingering in the background when they do the podcast. He's got to pop up and be more important at some point.

I agree I don’t love it either but there isn’t a lot of places they can take that. At least I don’t have any better ideas for him. Did they ever mention his profession in the original series? I don’t remember him being a talent manager but maybe I’m wrong or maybe just never said what he did. With the bickering between him and his H in the first couple episodes it kind of set it up too.

I actually just watched the first few episodes out of nostalgia yesterday and all he talks about so far is his one client he has lol so he is definitely a talent agent. I wouldn’t have necessarily remembered that on my own, it’s just fresh for me.
I had to look at something on my phone and not watch those scenes. WHY?! Why are they doing this?
And then all that mean girl stuff with the woman she invited, then uninvited and made fun of later with her new fabulous friend. What did she do wrong, suggest a field trip to an animal shelter?! I hate how awful they’re making Charlotte in this.
Has Charlotte always been this terrible of a person?
And they all have amazing hair, if I ever win the lottery I’m getting a personal hair stylist.
I never felt that way about her character before. She’s definitely done some shitty things like what she said to Harry when she thought he was taking too long to propose, but her rich white private school mom persona is just atrocious, at least in this episode.
What's going to happen with Miranda and Che? I feel like it'll crash and burn pretty quickly.
If I were Carrie, I probably would have been louder to interrupt Che and Miranda/ask for help. I understand being pissed, but I thought the focus on her being left alone was a little overdone. And then Miranda seemed completely remorseless! Was she still buzzed? Seems like a situation that would sober you up pretty quickly!
I kind of thought that Carrie was kind of a bitch to Miranda. I think its fine to call her on the cheating, and the drinking, but if I saw that one of my friends have an encounter that suggested she was rethinking her sexuality - I'd be more concerned about supporting her through that.
Also I don't know why she didn't just interrupt in someway.
“With sorrow—for this Court, but more, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection—we dissent,”

Sara Ramirez is so hot as Che.
I was so irritated that Carrie didn’t make noise and say something. It was weird to be all martyr about it.

I never thought Miranda and Steve were particularly well-matched, but I love Steve (more than I like Miranda) so the infidelity storyline is making me sad. Miranda has to figure some shit out.
I like that Charlotte has to wrestle with her child’s true identity. She tries so hard to create this perfect life and it’s just not how humans operate. “Rock” is such a symbolic name juxtaposed with Lily/Rose. lol
I’m reserving my feelings on Miranda’s storyline until the end of the season. I feel like her drinking and reawakening are carrying this entire show at the moment.
I’m tired of watching Carrie be waited on by her friends (Big left her at the altar, Big died, hip surgery). I hate that we’re back where we started with Steve and Miranda (no sex, someone cheated).
I do like that Charlotte has to grapple with Rock. I feel like her and Harry’s reactions to the whole thing are believable. I also like the texting with Samantha. I know many do not but I can hear Samantha saying “my finest hour” and see her facial expressions.
Che and their podcast with the button that says “woke moment!” or whatever is cringe.
