“With sorrow—for this Court, but more, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection—we dissent,”

I'm so happy so many of you ladies watched!
I also felt like..idk it would have been super awkward to wake up and hear my friend Miranda having wild lesbian sex in my kitchen. I *feel* like Carrie should have interrupted them when she had to use the bathroom. Like wtf. And YAS, idk..I know she was mad and I get it. She WAS sitting in her own urine lol..but I felt really frustrated that she wasn't ever like "Miranda. This is NOT the person I know. ARE YOU OKAY?"
Instead she was (I guess justifiably??) "You let ME down" mehhhh
Miranda is obviously in trouble.
I liked the part with Charlotte, Harry and Rock/Rose. I do hope they go further with that. I think it could be an important part of the show.
I agree that Carrie could have tried harder to get Mitanda's attention. It almost feels like she didn't so she could have something to be mad at her over- like she'd rather sit in piss to have one over on Miranda. Twitter kept comparing when Carrie sent Aiden to help a naked Miranda off the floor- Carrie has let her friends down too.
If Carrie would have been as attentive to her friends as she expects of them she would have noticed the signs of her drinking, especially after Charlotte mentioned it. And it started pre-Big's death so that isn't an excuse (though they are saying it started in quarantine).
Miranda having sex in Carrie's kitchen reminded me of the former GBCN poster who had sex in her friend's kid's play house while at a party. Although I don't judge Miranda as harshly.
Carrie’s character is consistently written as being incredibly self centered and let down by everyone. HIRE A NURSE if you want undivided attention to your personal and medical needs. You are wealthy. Your friend was watching you sleep for hours and then got distracted by your other friend who was visiting you at your apartment. It’s not like Miranda ditched her to go to the bar knowing she’d wake up and need help getting out of the bed. She was in the other room.
And I am seeing Carrie’s apartment in much greater detail than I remember from SATC. It seems smaller and less charming. I have always LOVED that apartment. And the big staircase to her door is new. I always thought she was on the first floor. Like, you walk up the big steps in front and then through the door and then off the the right for her apartment.

This was also Hitler cookies and dog poop on neighbor's stoop chick.
Whyyyyy do I know this but don't remember what I did yesterday?

She always lived on the second floor but they never showed the entry. She often peeked out the second floor window. That's where she worked, she talked to Aiden and Big from the window.
I agree livinitup - the apartment doesn't seem as charming as it used to! I don't know what it is.
I also agree w/ everyone who mentioned it- why is Carrie relying 100% on her friends during her recovery? She absolutely should have hired help. I don't see how Charlotte and Miranda could each spare 1/2 of their time to sitting with Carrie! But, I guess it's TV so I need to suspend belief.
I laugh at myself, because I'm up in arms over certain details and let the rest of the completely unrealistic stuff fly. I think I'm this way about all TV and movies, not just this show. Speaking of which, I wasn't a devoted follower of the original series. Was there ever a back story on how every main character has endless wealth? I mean, I know Big was some kind of finance guy, but how did Carrie live in an apartment larger than a shoebox and afford her wardrobe when she was a single writer?

What bothers me most about the Miranda/Che stuff is not that Miranda is exploring her sexuality or unhappy in her marriage. It’s that they’ve completely ignored the Steve cheating plot from the first movie. Miranda was utterly devastated and betrayed and they are just acting as if it never happened. Maybe I missed it or maybe they’ll get to it in the next one but it’s driving me nuts.

Have you watched Emily in Paris? I think this EVERY.SINGLE.EPISODE when Emily has yet another insane outfit on! Then I say to myself "it's just a show..... make believe.... roll with it...."

My mom in her 60s and has had a spinal decompression, two knees replaced, a broken hip that was fixed and then a separate surgery 6 months later to replace it, a broken pelvis that just had to require time to heal…and she has required less help than Carrie 😂😂I know the alone thing is her being vulnerable after Big’s death, but the whiny thing annoyed me. You weren’t alone, there were two people having sex in your kitchen. If you’d yelled for help, they would have stopped lol.

Carrie’s apartment was rent controlled, and then Aiden bought the one next door. Then when they split, he sold it to her.
Then Carrie wrote like 5 books (but not early on).
Charlotte came from wealth and then got her apartment when she split with McDougal.

Not really, but when she wants to buy her apartment they do touch on how she has basically no savings because she's spent all of her money.

I mean, it has been, what? 13 years since the first movie? I can see why that wouldn't be a topic brought up anymore. They reconciled on the bridge and worked past it. I could see it coming up if/when she confesses to him or he finds out.

One thing that I don’t love about Che’s character is the constant “sparking it up.” I love that their character is unapologetic for who they are. It just seems like it doesn’t add anything to their character and seems weird in juxtaposition with Miranda’s alcoholism storyline.

I'm struggling a little with Che's character. I know all the characters are flawed and complex (or supposed to be, and I like that), but some of the thoughtfulness Che displays seems really contradictory to the rest of their personality. Unapologetic is good, but it's almost like the writers are too committed to them being "edgy," which also begs the question of whether Che would really want to hang out with these women in their mid 50s.
Did I miss some explanation, either here or in one of the movies, as to why they kept her apartment, unused, this whole time? That part drives me nuts.

In the first movie all 4 of them spent 2 days packing up Carrie's apartment. Samantha flew in from CA to help!

Well, she sold it when she was supposed to marry Big and then he didn’t follow thru. Louise from St. Louis was able to get the new owners to sell it back to her.
I think after that she never wanted to rely on Big for housing because she almost got screwed. I do think her keeping it after that was a convenient plot device.
In the 2nd movie, she went there to get away from time to time. Then Stanford and Charlotte also did the same.
But, if she could afford to keep it then why not? I would, too.

Big bought the big apartment for them, with his money, and Carrie said she really didn't want to sell *her* apartment, so Big said, "Then don't." If I remember correctly. From the first movie.

Oh right, I remembered it wrong. Or maybe what I'm remembering happened after they got married, or it's from the second movie?

Che may be the person who is opening the door to Miranda's exploration, but it feels quite obvious to me that they are not the person she ends up with for a number of reasons.
Idk. Miranda knows like nothing about LGBTQIA anything. Including current dating culture (I don't either lol) but Che indicates it's like "slide in my dms for another fun time!"
Does Miranda..who is carrying a book bag to school even know what that means?
Add in the fact that Che low key parties and its just obvious that they aren't a match.
Miranda might not be a white, cis, hetero lady now, but..I totally agree, there is going to be some other issues with Che as she works this out.
Side note: Carrie will complain that Miranda messed up her podcast lol. 😒

I think either Miranda will realize on her own or it will be suggested to her (by a therapist or someone?) that being around Che, who likes to party on the regular, is not conducive to sobering up in a healthy manner.

Regarding the apartment, Carrie kept it as a place for Big or her to go if they needed to get away. In the second movie, Charlotte used it as a get away/me time apartment.
I thought Aiden only sold her back the portion she originally loved in, I didn’t realize it was both apartments.
I wish they explored Miranda’s sexuality in Sex and the City. I always liked Steve but they never seemed like a match.

I've never thought it was as charming as the series once she redecorated it in the movie. The hallway to her apt was bizarre. I had to rewind to make sure that's where they were.
And no way does she have the SAME duvet cover on her bed for 20 years. lol
