I like my Bombas socks, but I recently bought a pack of Puma socks at Costco and find myself reaching for them more often. They fit well and are the perfect thickness. They fit well in shoes, but are warm. I really like them. Also, way cheaper, obviously. We’ll see how they hold up.
Ha! My comparison is to these same Puma socks and I couldn’t agree more!
I bought my daughter the Puma socks because she keeps stealing my Nike socks, maybe I should steal hers now LOL
I want someone to talk about their Article furniture. I love the style, the price is reasonable, but every time I see items listed for sale on Marketplace they look trashed. A couple friends have couches and I'm not impressed with how they look 2+ years out. The internet (mostly instagram) is full of rave reviews, but I don't trust those not to be paid. I want to like them, but I'm not yet willing to order.

Someone here has an Article couch they really like, but I can’t remember who.
We have two woven poufs and a leather ottoman from them. The ottoman I’m really happy with. I think we’ve had it about a year. The poufs lost their structure pretty quickly. They’re still functional and look decent, but I’m not super impressed. Those we’ve had for a couple of years.
A Roomba. Ours constantly goes under our couch, sucks up whatever sock or piece of string or cat toy is under there and gets stuck. Plus I don’t think it cleans that well.
Breville toaster ovens. A few days ago I was using it and it made some loud popping sounds. It tripped the circuit breaker, shut down, and smelled like burnt plastic after. I don't know what went bad, but it seems like a fire hazard and I'm just glad it didn't catch on fire.
It was three years old, which to me isn't very long for a small appliance that is that expensive, and so many reviews say they also had issues with their ovens breaking and Breville basically not caring if it's past one year that I didn't bother contacting them. Fingers crossed our new Ninja toaster oven holds up. It was cheaper and I actually like it better so far.

We have one. It’s just ok. Ikea quality at not ikea prices. It looks sad and slumpy.
We have an actual mcm couch from my grandmother. It’s not sad or saggy looking.
The article couch is ~1 year old. The grandma couch is ~70 years old.
I will have the grandma couch another 70 years. The article one will be fully trashed in a few years.
We barely use it. My 2.5 year old is the main utilizer.
There’s ZERO reason it should look so bad.
Also I see them at habitat restore ALL THE TIME. Flippers/stagers use them. For virtually unused couches they look sad and saggy.
I am sure there are people whose article couch is lovely and wonderful and the best purchase they ever made. That person is not me. I will never, ever buy another sofa without thorough inspection.
ETA - my grandma couch lived through 8 children, countless dogs, 30 grandchildren, and not one of us is calm or chill. Lots of jumping and running on that couch.
Bombas socks. There is nothing magical about these socks and then you throw in that they are $15/pair, I laugh at the ridiculousness of it.
Oh yes I agree with this too. I had wanted them for years. Finally bought a gift set of the crew socks for myself and they are so uncomfortably tight around my leg that I can't wear them. Such a bummer.
Maybe the lower ankle socks would be better, but not looking to spend any more on them.
If you bought the gift set recently, let Bombas know and they will refund you or send you a gift card. I received a gift set of the crew socks and had the same issue--too tight around the legs. I let them know, and they sent me a $100 Bombas gift card (but I love, love all of my ankle socks from Bombas).
omglol, that is definitely what I'm seeing when they pop up second hand. Like they have been BEAT UP. My friend has one of the leather couches with 3 young, energetic kids and it's really showing wear after 2 years. If I'm spending $5,000 I want to love that thing and have it look nice for at least 10 years. Our current Ikea couch has held up remarkably well for the 7 years we've owned it and we bought it second hand. Its starting to get a little sad now and we'd like to replace it with something a bit bigger, but I don't know where to find what I want. Maybe I need to find an actual MCM couch and have it reupholstered.

Fabletics leggings. They just roll down on me all the time. They wash great, they are comfortable on the leg, but damn they roll down on my waist. It makes me sad because when I try them on, they fit great and look great. They appear to be made for people who do not have fat around their high waisted belly button.

I think their sofas wear out quickly. I do however have a media console and it's rock solid. Super heavy, solid wood & came fully assembled.

I highly highly recommend Room and Board.
I’m in Canada. We don’t have R&B. I’m hoping we can go to Vancouver this spring to check out a few stores that are only in the bigger cities.
I have a pair that fell apart after washing once. I didn’t dry it either. I reached out to the company, and they sent me a replacement. I hand washed it, and the same thing happened again. Fuck those undies.
We have a monthly subscription and DH and I both love all the ones we've gotten and haven't had a single issue
I hate Lululemon. I was anti-them for ages because of the fat shaming etc, but now that they have actual plus sizes I bought a pair a couple months ago. Totally hate them. Not comfortable, and nowhere near as nice as the Beastmode ones that are less than half the price.

EQ3....I want alllllll their stuff
ummm, thank you for this! i'm not sure how i've missed them in my endless interest searches, but it's totally up my alley. there is a store on Granville which is close to where we plan to stay. i can't wait to check them out!

I have a leather couch and a dresser. I got the couch in 2019. It’s super comfortable and still looks good. Definitely not ikea-ish. I’ve thought of getting a 2nd one as the new house layout needs a 2nd couch.
The dresser still looks good although only one year old. The drawers are a bit small though. It is super heavy and came assembled.
Ooh I have a hot take that’ll get me run off of this board, lol.
Athleta! I love the look and style of their clothing, I love that they have inclusive sizing, but the clothes wash horribly and look terrible after a few washes. We are careful with laundry, delicate cycle, all the best practices. My other clothes are all fine. Athleta stuff is pilly and limp looking. I thought it was isolated bc I do love the wrap and bc it’s so highly rated I thought maybe it was bad luck, so I got another item on clearance - a sweatshirt of the same material. Did the same thing.
ETA: upon further reflection, lol, I amend this to be the pranayama wrap specifically, and anything else that is made with that same fabric. Other items are fine/good/great!
I replaced a miele with a dyson. Biggest mistake. The miele had a broken tube/attachment connector. Definitely should have replaced that part.
My next vacuum will be a Miele. I am excited about it. Lol
Do you have one picked out? I’m seeing they discontinued uprights in 2022 to focus on stick vac production and I’m not sure how I feel about a canister.

I'll get a canister one. @sgardnerstyle on Instagram has a Miele she highly recommends and I really trust her.

Awesome, I’ll check her out, thanks! Time to step outside the box.

I read something awhile ago about toaster and toaster ovens. If I recall, it’s something about how the heating elements are now made from some metal that is more fragile that the metal used years ago. So yeah, they are all 2-3 year products now. Which, check out with my experience. Price has no effected how long it lasts for us. Meanwhile, my parents had the same one for 25 years, and you had to hold the toast button down (or rig up something with spoons and weights), but it still toasted.
Probably not the same issue you had. But I’m still going to go try to find the article.

LOL, I am a bit of an Athleta expert, shall we say. The fabric you speak of is Nirvana. I own a ton of it and I can say that it IS prone to pilling. I see it returned for this reason from time to time. The unfortunate part about the fabric is the very thing that makes it so soft and cozy also makes it less sturdy than other fabric. Washing in delicate alone is good, but it can still pill. I wash mine inside out and I hang to dry. Its also important to wash it with like fabrics. Washing it with say, jeans, esp. right side out can make it pill. Things with zippers can cause abrasion. All this rings true for the Powervita fabric (studio line leggings and pants) as well. As for the limpness that usually won't happen if you hang it to dry. It perks up quickly and most of the fabrics respond miraculously to steaming. I don't even own an iron, I steam everything.
In the spirit of honesty, it's not my favorite fabric. It def. does not respond to wear and tear as well as other fabrics. I am hard on my clothes so I am not the best candidate for it. It's soooo soft but it def. is moody. For sweatshirts I like the Sundown line which is organic cotton and gets soft like butter the more you wash it, with no pilling. The Triumph line wears like iron as does the Cozy Karma line - but they are def heavier. Anything that is "textured" will wear much better, even if it says Nirvana. They just came out with an Uptempo wrap. That'll be light and wash beautifully. That fabric is even softer than Nirvana but washes much more nicely.
Wait, do you work there? Can you ask the higher ups to bring back the Doby Be Free Knickers?!? My absolute favorite race bottoms, I've had two pairs and I'm terrified for the day my current one gets a hole in them. I run every marathon in them, wear them camping in the canoe because they dry really fast, they are incredible and I need them to return! 😂

felicity, same thing happened with our Breville. I replaced the fuse and it works like new. Do you want me to send you a fuse and the connector part you need? I have extras!
