SCOTUS Confirmation Hearing for Ketanji Brown Jackson

This spectacle is horrific. It's an important job with a lifetime appointment, so an extended stressful interview is expected. However, this is a toxic, racist, and disgusting display by the Republicans, just trying to smear Brown Jackson.

Yup!!  On all points.  It's angering and I wish more people were angered by this.

Graham kept trying to make a point about how Kavanaugh and Barret were treated by the press.  So the fuck what?  They were handled with kid gloves by you lot!  And that's also NOT Brown Jackson's problem or concern!!!!  

And the GOP just KOKOing.  They aren't held accountable for their horrible, hypocritical actions because unfortunately our country is filled with people who LOVE this, who LOVE their behavior.

Good point.  I'm in Baltimore and we see a fair amount of DC news.  

Which is more to my point - he has a lot more faith that people actually know who he is and what he looks like than is probably true.

its stunning to me that these people have supporters. That people in our country think that our representatives should act like this.

It’s appalling, this isn’t what our country should be like, and it’s sad.

And by these people being given a louder voice, it keeps selling this horrible version of what our country is about, and the voice just gets louder.

That’s what scares me the most. These horrible voices are getting louder because more people are behind it.

Only three Republican senators voted in favor of Jackson in 2021 when the Senate confirmed her to fill a vacancy on a powerful DC-based appellate court: Collins as well as Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska.
Murkowski and Graham have not yet said where they stand on Jackson's nomination. Graham told CNN he plans to announce his position on Jackson sometime this week.
GOP Sen. Mitt Romney also met with Jackson on Tuesday, but has not yet said whether he'll support her after expressing an openness to vote in favor of her nomination to the Supreme Court.

I assigned my affinity group to find clips of the hearing that showed racist and misogynistic undertones (overtones!). Almost every group picked the Cruz section and just tore him apart. He is such a dick.
