ETA: the same old rehashing of the R's Greatest Misses. Does every confirmation hearing start out with an Airing of Grievances?
Honestly, that's probably a yes. What a waste of everyone's time.
ETA: I will say, I thought it was especially rich of the turds who blabbed on about the Dems' reaction to Kavanaugh. If people actually spat on the Rs during those hearings, shame on them. But to act as if the Rs are somehow morally superior for not raging against Judge Jackson? C'mon. It sounds like she is not only highly qualified but also an exemplary human being.

Nope.
I don't need to spike my blood pressure like that. I know how it's going to play out and in the end, she'll be confirmed. I don't need to hear the racist shit the Republicans spew at her.
I haven't been watching because of work, but I saw some snippets here and there. Although not at all surprising, the R's are so disgusting. And pretending that Cavanaugh is somehow a victim is so gross. Although the "soft on crime" BS from people excusing a violent insurrection is pretty nauseating as well. But, despite all that, Judge Jackson is amazing and I'm looking forward to hearing more from her.

I barely considered the thought in my head before the resounding NOPE answered.
We all know "soft on crime" only means "we want to lock up primarily black non-violent drug offenders for some weed to keep lining our pockets with for profit prisons. And lets throw kiddies in detention centers and make them represent themselves. Now, pass me the cialis with scotch chaser."
And for good measure: fuck kavanagh. fuck tfg. fuck republicans. I have lots of fuck yous to hand around if anyone wants to add to the list.

I've been listening a little today cause I have the day off an have been running errands and Cornyn's entire line of questioning made absolutely no sense. And I don't mean that in a "why would he ask such a thing" (like Graham's line of questioning about whether she thinks Amy Coney Barrett got a fair hearing) but as in literally the questions didn't make sense. Like, for example, if the Court correctly overruled Dred Scott.
They didn't. That was overruled by the passage of the 13th amendment.
And his whole line of substantive due process ramblings. Literally just nonsense.
I caught some of Graham this morning and was so freakin' annoyed. And at times pissed off. He kept pressing her to say that she didn't support detaining war captives for extended periods of time as a "Gotcha! She will put our national security at risk!!" But just like Gorsuch, her personal feelings should be considered less than her ruling according to the law at the time. I like how she referenced recent nominee responses accordingly. Go you, Judge!
Ted Cruz is now complaining about the book Antiracist Baby. He brought many visuals. I hope one of his aids rifling through them gets a massive papercut.

I don't want to hear anything about being soft on crime from the same people who were gung-ho about confirming a guy with a credible sexual assault allegation against him.

like, why tho?
(ETA why did he bring the book into play?! what the ever loving fuck.)

Her professional record and personal character are unimpeachable, so I guess they need to manufacture something to be outraged about.
Apparently the book has been used at the private school where she is on the board. Which- yay because it's a good book. She had a great response 1. As a board member she isn't in charge of curriculum and 2. It's a private school so his point about "critical race theory" in public schools is moot (and dumb).

I haven’t watched the hearings, but I saw a clip of this and I think I literally saw her swallow the words she really wanted to say lol.
I was really annoyed hearing Tom Cotton's questions, particularly since I was convinced he had already gone earlier today. Apparently, I had confused him with Josh Hawley in my head. Two fucking assholes.

Fortunately I only saw the clip and not Cruz’s questioning. Judge Jackson’s handling of it was masterful and I loved seeing the disappointment on Cruz’s stupid smarmy face when he realized this wasn’t going where he wanted it to go.

That was the only reason I kept watching that part--she just kept repeating in some variation, "I have not reviewed any of those materials". Shut him down, judge.

Did you also see that earlier in the day he missed his checkin for his flight and had a tantrum at the airport (don’t you know who I am?!?!?!) and police were called?
