None of this so far is surprising to me, yet it is all making me feel sick to hear it straight from this committee.
It’s one thing to see/hear it on the news, but it hits differently to hear it directly from the committee that has all of the receipts in one place.
I came to say this. I'm actually surprised at how emotional seeing clips at the beginning (I'm watching on ABC) and how godawful this was. Hearing ot laid out step by step hits differently than following it as it happened.

I’m watching on c-span because I knew it would be too much for me to re-watch all of the clips and hear all of the commentary.

I knew all of this was true, but I honestly didn’t expect them to be so clear that they fully blame Donald Trump and that we are only seeing the tip of the iceberg tonight.

I’m looking for any evidence that GOP congresspeople gave access to the invaders the days leading up to 1/6, and also who those GOP congresspeople were that, according to Cheney, requested pardons from Trump in the weeks following the attack.

So, I personally understand the value of putting all this factual information out there so the general public understand what the hell went on around that day. But is there recourse that can come from this? Punishment? Holding T and others responsible in any real or meaningful way?

NPR is broadcasting live with a little commentary but mostly unfiltered. (I prefer radio, I have bad reactions to visuals and also I process audio better).

My understanding is that is up to DOJ not this committee.
This from Liz Cheney talking about her Republican colleagues…
“There will be a day when Donald Trump is gone, but your dishonor will remain.”

I guess I hadn't realized, in just reading and watching clips, how repeatedly, clearly, and deliberately Trump kept calling out Pence. Like, I knew it intellectually, but watching this is intense.

This is horrifying. I watched it as it was happening and I knew at the time it wasn’t the whole picture. But this is hitting different tonight. It’s unbelievable.
I just keep thinking about the staffers who are having to re-live their trauma in order to do their jobs tonight and over the last months when the committee has been conducting its investigation.
